Typically, with a TAS, you'd run basically a script who'd go through many, many replays. But, there's some catches. Games like this. Very hard. This still is a TAS, just not the traditional way!
Yeah... I considered it but that's too much effort and this is an RNG heavy game. While it's certainly predictable, it's also not exactly exact. Which sucks for scripted TAS. I just wanted to make a fun video you could follow along that would also be in very high quality (4k 60fps) as speedruns of this game are always in low quality for obvious reasons. Not necessarily worrying about the fastest time. TAS would come in handy for doing glitch routes and runs but I felt like that takes away from the spirit of the game so I didn't want to do that. So in other words just look at it as a high production value, computer assisted fast campaign run.
It did actually slap you kind of hard. If you got in a bad position it would stun lock you and without maximum speed you couldn't really escape it. Even in this video I nearly died to it because it reduced my speed so much. I dunno what changes they did to it though.
@@ddstar8470 I'm not sure if the chopper segments were recorded in version 0.93 or 0.95 since this video took so long to record that it spanned across both versions.
Yeah mostly. This was only semi-automated for that exact reason. You would need a computer that never lags and always runs at the same exact framerate to make it consistent.
Trial error and brute force. More info in the description. The tools are that I used are janky AF and are extremely time consuming and frustrating to use so I won't be revealing them. Please save your sanity and find something better and proper.
@@kexcz8276 I dunno. Most likely. I don't engage with the community. I mean an all objectives + all side missions run is definitely possible, it's just really annoying to do and you would need either quite a bit of prep (which would make the speedrun take longer) or you need to use glitches and unintended mechanics which to me goes against the spirit of the game. You also need to collect more money and buy more upgrades. It's just a whole lot more factors with a lot more considerations and a lot more work. Doing a TAS with such harsh requirements is too time consuming. The less objectives the easier it is and this video was already a nightmare to produce.
@@JustAPal seems you are right, but you know, it would be still thrilling to watch! 😃 (without any cheating and glitches ofc... ;). Yeah and one more thing- what does TAS mean? 😅😂
How is this video not popular, I like how laid back he is and draws emojis from time to time
It's not the only thing I draw ;) 45:47

I like how it's a TAS for fun and not absolute precision.
That how the game was meant to be played!
T - totally
A - awesome
S - speedrun
Lol
Speed runS. It's stitched, this could have been 80 different runs for all we know @@O4k0b0bra
I like how the Meticulous Planner achievement takes longer to do than this entire speedrun

Good speedrun

I love tear down
Super speed run!
the question must be awsered. why did they make the chooper weaker then the 0.9.3???

also nice drift in power outage
@@JustAPal maybe more damage but reduce speed of minigun

Would each TAS run be different because of the physics?

Chill bro 😂
This came up while i was listening to Farewell of Slavianka.
That makes sense

How did you make a tas?
Tas is a very broad term.
Tas can be done with save states, slow motion, segmenting, scripts and many more
I think he used slow motion for this

Awesome speedrun, just shame it is not with all objectives... :/
It's the bare minimum. More objectives means slower speedrun. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@JustAPal yeah ofcourse, but the community differentiates between "required" and "optional" no? 🤔
