Great video. IMO 1204 on 3inch is where it's at. 6 min cruising flights on 450 3S. And you can do light freestyle when you need it. Only about an inch wider than the 2.5 inch whoops.
i bought some 1204 5000kv but it not tall enough like the stock motor. how do you install it

Same motor I choose when I built my 95x. RacinPower 1207 6000Kv I run 3S and 4S.. from low pitch biblades when I need longer flight times. Gemfan duct 65mm if im lifting a full size gopro (didn't get a naked yet)

Good stuff Tommy, I'm on the 1106/5000kV with the 2.5x2.5x3 HQ props and this is a nice balance freestyle and cine, it actually freestyles pretty well, better than my Squirts at least, but they're too underpowered.
@UMMAGAWD please share your pid tune and settings i have build a 95x with the 1207 motors you recommend in this video but i just cannot get the motors down to a bearable temp
Same here. The pid tune from the 95x build video and stock 4.2 settings result in my 1207s getting too hot to touch. Motor screws are not touching (checked with multimeter), and mechanically the build is sound.

I’ve got those 1207’s, but I went with 6000kv because I run HQ 3x3x3 and a 3s 1100mah battery (the 66g GNB one). It’s great at 146g auw, but no HD yet. I think it’ll be just fine when I find a Vista to put on it.

the gemfan has some pop for sure, but i didn't like the way it flies out of the box (the 95x v2) and i felt that the motors came down hotter than I'd like

I followed your leas and threw on the RCinPower 1207’s. I ended up dropping from DShot600 down to DShot300 because I was getting a lot of “flutter”. Seems to be great now. I end up freestyle flying even though that’s not really the intent with the design.

Iam thinking about switching my gopro session5 kinda "umma" build (heavily modified without plastic frame) to 1404's... and use my 1204's for a standart 85x whoop.. the 1204s are crazy efficient. I can fly 6 minutes with 3 blade props with session5...

Nice videos, keep up the great work. I'm new to fpv builds and attempting the 95x v3 build (2nd build). Ur build is based off the v2 I believe. Have you ever had issues with the 1204 or any xx04 build in terms of height clearance with the guard when testing out the various motors? I ordered the 1104 4200kv but the the height of them does not seem like they would clear the vista housing bracket after receiving the frame in the mail today. The 1106 seem large in comparison but I realize the are all small motors and the sites show macro images making them seem larger than they are. Have you also tested out any 5 blades with these setups?

Think everytime they keep saying power. I think they mean response time.. but I'd imagine 1206 vs 1207 isn't much noticeable difference.. went 1207 because is was more common place when I was looking. I would even done 1305. I just need the motor torque to pull out of dives with full size gopro on 2.5" lol

The higher kv all probably make a difference, but they're heavier than the 1207s

A small detail though, what is your auw like? With lipo and naked gopro on top, both with 1204 and 1207? I'm flying the 1204 5k on 2-3s and it is pretty nimble, but I also don't haul a naked gopro on it.

Yep, me too! 6,5 grams is a lie! The new motors add 12 grams total to the quad. I‘ll have to strip the Vista because my Beta 95x v2 flies like crap.

Are you going to de case a Hero9 and use it’s ‘Reelsteady like’ stabilisation on an Unma95X?
Reelsteady will usually be better for film makers because you can choose how steady and it can make it smoother as it can analyse the video ahead to make it smoother and flow better

you didn't mention Apex 1303.6 motors. i'm guessing you don't have them. they have a bit more power than 1204 and 1303. would you try them and compare to other motors ?
I want to build a umma85. I have laying around a Tyro69 drone, and was wondering if It would work with the beta85x frame or the v2 frame with some mods + changing the props for a 2 inch set.

Just curious, how these actually fly. JB on his live stream today said he's in no rush to review the betafpv 95x. And heard from kahbab that these don't fly very well. I know your design is not the 95x v2 but similar. What's your take on that? Personally, I'm really enjoying my 95x stock 1106 motors and may upgrade to the 1207's you tested in this video. btw - always enjoy your vidz. hope to see more! not many good quailty fpv vidz these days unfortunately.
It's all about the parts you choose and the "total build". I use the same 95x frame but I build it out completely different (I flip it upside down to make it a pusher, amongst other things... and the fact that beta's v2 does the same should say something ;)
If you do anything more than fly "cinematic", then you'll love the 1207. Especially once you go outdoors into windy conditions. Some might say that throttle control is harder on 4s, but I say it's just something you get used to. Or if it's that difficult for you, then you can drop to 3s packs or even use BF's throttle limiting feature.
All that said, I love the 1207. It makes flying FUN, you gain more agility because of the power, and personally I feel like it flies alot more stable because it can actually control the quad.

These motors suck. Me and some others in the community habe experienced that these 1207 have issues. I have killed 4 motors already and now Im not going to keep replacing them.
If you want to run these motors, dont use high pitched props.
Stick with Gemfan 3020 or 3016.
On 2.5 inch use the 2040. High pitch just kill the motors.
That sucks and speed was the only reason I wanted them.

Hi Tommy! I got rcinpower 1204 5000kv with 2540 props but I'm getting mid throttle jello that I cannot get rid of. I tried tuning it but with no success. Motor graph shows I got poor vibrations, Could it be due to motors / prop? Did you experienced that? I see on the Umma95x build that you were using the same motors / props, so I guess not. Can you give me some hints about this? I'm pretty sure it's not a bad motor or props, and the frame it's a pretty new beta95x. Thanks!
Hey man, I’d start with making sure every screw and bolt is tight, hey nothing is touching the flight controller, and that your props and motors are all in good condition. Then I’d play with the filter settings
@@ummagawdFPV thanks! I found a post of yours on Facebook from 2020 in which you said that the best option to get rid of vibrations was to soft mount the FPV cam, so i designed a new mount, dampened, and I got no more jello now :)
are 1303 5000kv enough for a 85 size vista pusher + smo4k/gopro naked? or 95 size is a must?

yea international is something that I'm trying to solve. Unforunately DHL, fedex, and USPS priority have all resulted in issues. Currently working out some stuff with EU warehouse to solve that.

Im using the iflight 1303 5000kv and guts of an A85 on a phantom setup with a 4s but wanted these after a lot of minimal info research. Really hoped the 6000kv was gonna be the way to go, I'm sure more people had this exact decision to make. Now you have cleared this up.
