You should sell mystery candles! How fun would that be?! You could hide one of your found treasures inside the candles you make and sell them as mystery candles! Love your videos and art work!

The one thing that makes these videos so interesting and enjoyable is the fact that you've included the history of your finds. Keep making these videos and I look forward to watching them as you post them.

I think the red bar you've found is actually a bar of sealing wax, that was used to seal letters and parcels. It was melt on the paper and sometimes a seal was pressed on it.

@sofaking wetoddid It's not the point of the 13K subs. It's the point of how little time they've done it. I like these ladies and the content they show on their channel. I hope some day they get their 100K plaque and see where it goes from there.

It doesn't surprise me a bit that you're wearing your grandads coat and it's very fetching on you too. So fun to watch you and how excited you are. My days on the Fife coast were doing much the same thing and I know everyone thought me daft but I loved touching all the dishes and bits of things that others touched before me, long before me. Lovely wee finds and love that you use them to create for your etsy shop.

Oh how lovely the glass is when cleaned up. Especially the bubbly wavy glass. The candlestick and candles are wonderful and all the finishing touches of packaging, labels etc is too. You and your mom sure are a great team together. I love that.

It's pretty cool you found a bottle from here in Canada. I just wish it was from Newfoundland. Your videos are so relaxing with the beautiful music. I loved the guitar work in that one! The ink jars and candles turned out amazing! I like when the wax runs down the bottles as well. I also love it when you do the history of the companies that made those old bottles. You lovely ladies are an inspiration to all. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

@@NorthernMudlarks Hi Gail and Alex. I was especially interested in the history behind the green bottle from the Messrs Burroughs and Wellcome. It so happens that the Burroughs-Wellcome pharmaceutical company had [or still has] a headquarters located in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill [otherwise also known as the RTP [Research Triangle Park] in my home state of North Carolina, which also has a town called Snow Hill. Funny how things circle around and connect with each other in unexpected ways. That cream jar was a great little find, Alex, it's so pretty! It's a pity that the dump site got filled in and you can no longer dig there. The thought of all those treasures that got destroyed in the filling in process is heartbreaking. Great find on the whole Codd bottle! That "medicine" bottle had a very disturbing history behind it. Imagine taking something that's supposed to make you feel better, only for it to be poisoning you instead. Insane!
P.S. I'm so happy to have found your channel, it's so relaxing, wholesome and refreshing in the midst of all the madness that's going on in the world these days.
I'm gobsmacked that you found, on different occasions, the head of the figurine, and then part of the body that goes with it. What are the chances of that? Astronomical.

It's wonderful to see a young lady who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. I'm loving how you are able to re-purpose things. With everything made of plastic now its nice to see you saving glass bottles and pottery. Who knows how long those places will be around for anyone to dig. :)

I was thinking... If u get yourself a high speed rotary tool with diamond tips ( u can get inexpensive ones) you can cut and engrave glass. So... If u find a nice bottle bottom but top is broken off u can cut it even and upcycle it😊 plus the cut edge can be heated with a propane torch til it glows and that process removes sharp egdges. Hope I helped😊❤😊

I'm from S.wales in the United Kingdom and back in the 1977 I was 7yrs old and we used find loads of brilliant treasures like these in a huge rubbish dump right next to my small estate and there would be lots of bottles with a marble in the neck of the bottle we used to call "Alley Bottles". We would dig them up and leave them there, OMG how stupid and ignorant were we totally love your videos especially Mother and Daughter sharing the same awesome hobby. Old treasures big or small is a part of our history and heritage, keep digging as long as you can love the channel.

@@NorthernMudlarks Yes, yes i did quite alot of fun at 7yrs old I was into fossils and that place had a abundance of large sea snails (I think), dragonflies and trees a old gentleman used to show us the safe and dangerous area's because it was a very old coal mine by a river and a very old rubbish tip, all that glorious treasure, history and my god the amount cockle shells was unbelievable. What i can remember you two ladies would have been knee deep in bottles of all sorts the place isn't completely covered but saying that there's a couple of places I know of which lightly covered. But watching you two ladies dig, does bring back good old memories and i do miss that piece of youth. So ladies don't stop digging and i love the channel awesome work.

Wonderful what you have done with the ink bottles. I, on the other hand, had a different idea for those bottles. To find the recipe for the ink of that period and make it to fill the bottles and cork them and to sell them along with actual goose or swan quill pens. And of course, to have the wonderful labels on them. Maybe you can find more of those and make the ink for them?

the huge jar bottom can also be a round window piece these originate in the 15th century but in the 19th century, this type of lead and glass type of making windows had a bit of a revival because going medieval was all the rage in the 1860s to 80s.

    Hi from Morocco;
I liked your idea about ink bottle and candles, it's wonderful !! That reminds me the paraphernalia of the sufi folower of the "medersa bou inania" ( 14 th centry traditional school); it included : a decorated ceramic ink bottle surrounded by small wells used as reed pens holder, several beeswax candles, paper rolls and a water crock. They used to make ink by adding soot (got from burned raw wool) to the gum arabic and warm water.
Thanks for sharing and happy year.🤗🤗

What a wonderful presentation! I really enjoyed the music during the bottle hunt. It is nice to see what you've done with the "recycled" ink bottles and candles. Such talented, entrepreneurial women!! I will have to check out ETSY!!

A new found channel for me. This is only the 3rd video from here so far but this one is most impressive. A bit misty-eyed towards the end from the beauty of the finds and the clear and beautiful voice of Alex. That brown cream jar blew me away (18:55) ...if I had found that , it would be where I could see it daily! The pea hens...the antique finds..you ladies live in a heaven and you deserve it. Had to watch it all again !

You could have your own show! Your voice is so perfect for teaching us all these things, I can tell its your passion. I love it 😊
Did you like history at school? Or what were you favourite subjects? 😊
    Thank you once again!! ❤️

Wow, thank you!! I hated history in school haha, the way it is taught is so uninspiring. I learnt more about history from my mum during holidays, trips to castles, museums and roman forts etc. I liked art and drama most at school, I'm creative more than academic 😊 xx
