- Although the original Mario Kart 8 is coming up on a decade since it’s initial release, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Booster Course Pass have gotten more people talking about the game than ever. But with the end of the Booster Course Pass quickly approaching at the end of this year, let’s talk about the hypothetical possibility of a Booster Course Pass 2.

I really hope there’s another booster course pass just for toad’s factory, GBA rainbow road, and wuhu loop. I’d really like to see those courses remade in the Mario Kart 8 style!

In my own opinion, I wanna see how Nintendo recreates Airship Fortress into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I feel like it's in an already upcoming wave, but I'm really curious how its remaster would look
your totally correct! I mean there's so many other fan favorites out there waiting to be remade. I would love to see wuhu loop and maka wuhu. It's also weird that there adding more and more courses to mk tour. I really hope their going to do a booster couse pass 2. And some battle courses will be great.

@@raythegamer8860 Same but most 3ds and wii remasters are just the map but with the best graphics nintendo can offer now, big graphic improvement come with maps for like gcn (and older) I would like old maps but more original new maps (no tour map in my opinion they really suck)
I could see 3 waves for 2024 with 24 more tracks moving it up to 120. They have the content in MK Tour to make this happen. Also it would kill time for a new installment on the Switch 2 in 2025.
I hope they release a new Mario kart (on the switch 2) not waves, again and I can't wait for the switch 2 they will have the possibility to make even better games and make their games run better (like totk is great but 900p and 30fps kinda sucks...) and it would create the possibility for more 3rd party titles.
@@SMusic-lt5yr Switch 2 is strongly rumored to come out after April 2024 so mid to end of 2024. The next installment is also rumored to be a Ultimate Nintendo verse of the game. Ill be shocked if it comes out in 2024. Earliest it would happen is 2025. So Nintendo should throw 3 more waves from MK Tour content to kill time till all this happens. Everyone wins. The community nintendo ect. Plus its most likely the last time we see an MK version like MK8D of this Franchise for a very long time. Add more characters, alts, drop the last 24 tracks and bring back retro items to add in the customization same for karts gliders tyers ect. Easy win for everyone.

Maybe Waves 7 and beyond, if they are to be a thing, could just focus on the Battle Courses and additional characters & costumes instead of having even more race tracks. The BCP’s doubling the amount of courses in the base game, so it would only make sense to double the amount of every other major aspect of the game (N64 Block Fort, DS Twilight House, 150cc & 200cc Battle Mode speeds, any remaining Tour-exclusive characters).
nah they need to focus on real content so yes for battle courses but no for characters they're not real content like tracks are

I have to be really honest, I think 96 tracks in Mario Kart 8 is enough.
I disagree. Might as well put them all on one system. Makes no sense to put almost 100 courses on one game, then release a new game with only 32 or 48 tracks.
@@humankinetic I definitely agree with you, also like imo I'd love a second booster course pass, so I'm able to play even more courses in the same game, I don't see a reason for them to release a new Mario Kart at least on switch. I feel like if they release a new one for whatever the next console will be it's going to be hard to top the amount of content this game is receiving
I agree. People seem to think we need every single bit of content from Mario Kart Tour, courses, characters, items etc. without thinking about the amount of content in the Booster Course Pass. According to datamines, there won't even be any new courses left if there is a second Booster Course Pass, because they were all used in the first one.

Assuming the "Big five" (Funky, Pauline, Diddy, Petey, Kamek) characters are added to the first booster course pass that means that the next four could be King Bob-Omb, Wiggler, Dixie, and R.O.B. This is just speculation/my hopes though. As long as King Bob-Omb is in, I'll be happy.
I hope there will be another booster course pass, any and all add-ons to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are a complete necessity, especially on the adventure-packed big screen.
Great video! One minor nitpick is that SNES Bowser Castle 3 is all but confirmed for Wave 5 or 6 due to the insane remake it got, which includes an obvious anti-gravity section.
Vanilla Lake would be one I'd like to see in a BCP 2 though!
I just want more battle courses. Maybe do DLC on that.

if a bcp 2 does happen i dont think there would be any tour tracks tbh, they’re putting all of those out in the current bcp so its likely it could just be retro tracks from the other games, which would be a huge W

@@Christendo64 Oh yeah definitely. A lot of people I feel haven’t really noticed that it’s been stacked against it’s inclusion for a while now. I mean, for a Tour launch track, it’s surprisingly has never been leaked and for a GCN track which has little representation in Tour, DDJ would’ve been the most logical track to come to the DLC but it hasn’t yet come when it could’ve easily been a Wave 3 track since the entire first half of the DLC was focused on older Tour remakes while the second half is now focused on more recent remakes which DK Mountain edges way more than DDJ since it came out just last November compared to DDJ on launch in 2019. That’s also to say that DK Mountain has halfpipes and a nicer looking more modern remake which I know Nintendo is going to abuse the hell out of to bring back for the DLC. Plus it’s the bigger fan favorite (I’d say like Double Dash’s version of Coconut Mall) and just because we already got DK Summit in Wave 4 doesn’t really mean it’s not going to be coming, or else they probably wouldn’t have remade the track in the first place for Tour.
As an Italian I just want a track in Rome or Venice or Florence then I can die happy.

I could totally see Nintendo doing this . Cause Mario kart tour is still making / remastering the tracks we love and would like to see in Mario kart , but also if they do that I could potentially see them porting the characters and alts as well too * IF * they make BCP2

While I don't think this is going to happen, I would LOVE to see it! Speaking of the DLC, it's been forever since we got a wave, and I am praying that the wii track in wave 5 is Koopa Cape.

The only confirmation we need will come when wave 6 releases and we have all the tour tracks in mk8dx. And Nintendo releases a new tour track.
Swift Jar made a really interesting video about leaks. I saw Rio potentially being a new City Track. Also, rumoured tracks coming to Tour include N64 Moo Moo Field, Wii Moonview Highway, GCN Mushroom City and a few others I could not remember
2nd Booster course should be Battle stages. Players barely play Battle mode anymore.
I hope it happens! While the track selection in this pass was amazing, there’s still some more fan favorites I’d like to see. And honestly, MK8’s physics are already perfect for me, adding new stuff just seems like a slam dunk. I know some people would prefer a MK9 sooner, I would like it too, but, I don’t know. We don’t even know how far in production it is, if it even is in production. I’d rather wait and let them cook with that game, and enjoy racing in the awesome courses in MK8, the more the better in my eyes
I know it's late but I was thinking for the spiny cup in wave 6 we could have:

It would make the most sense to me to have those four in the game since we already have all the other Rainbow Roads

Well more than 48 courses after BCP1 is done will be left. Not to mention the continuing release of city tracks. They could also sell vehicle parts for .75 each like they did with SSB Mii outfits. DK Stadium and Twilight house should be added with two new maps for battle courses.
Since they've been adding in a few extras alongside each wave release as of recent (wave 3 being custom items and wave 4 being new characters and stat buffs) I would absolutely love to see a reverse option like in Mario Kart Tour. Make it it's own engine class like mirror mode and that's be fantastic. The reverse mode I can see happening since it probably doesn't take much effort to do other than adding in ramps to places that would need them (and possibly reworking the city track's routes a bit).
They could also add in trick variants and reverse trick variants to the courses, but that would probably take more effort. If they did add them, I'd like them to do it in the style of courses that mess around with the layouts, like Kalimari Desert where they go over the mountain in the center of the track
Something else I would love to see as well as new courses, battle courses, items and characters in the booster course pass 2 is new karts, bikes, wheels and gliders. I think we need more variety in terms of cool karts
I can imagine that the BCP 2 would have its first wave come out in March 2025 (like Wave 1 of the BCP coming in March 2022) then go throughout 2025 with a new wave every 2 to 3 months, if that’s the case.

What if we get one character per wave in both passes, there are 5 current empty slots, this could mean 3 extra waves , 2 characters in the original pass , 3 for 3 new waves
I want another booster course, but for battle courses, 8 returning battle tracks to make the mode feel as fleshed out as the main racing mode is. Marie they could also add shine runners or balloon battle with the elimination stile as well.and as the final part of this update the feather item would finally get into the main item selection if Mario kart 8. It wouldn’t be that useful, but it it would be funny.
Tbh i dont think a second booster course will come now- but if there is another mario kart on the next system whatever it is, i wouldnt be surprised if they did do the same thing on that mario kart. An DLC later on
I think if they make a 2nd they should put in one of every snes theme. Ghost Valley, koopa beach, etc.

If we do get a second pass, there is a real opportunity for brand new tracks (maybe 1 per cup) to make the roster. You got the list down to 27. Tour's not over yet either. it could get more tracks. in fact, it would only need 3 more track remakes, for a full 6 more cups. However i do not expect an announcement for booster pass 2, until Mario Kart 8 DX + for whatever the new hardware is they're likely to release next year.

If they did add in new items, I feel like they'd have to come in an update alongside the pass and not exclusive to it, since leaving items behind a paywall would be a weird thing to do. Also for items I'd love to see, I would want the ice flower and the mega mushroom the most (but with the song too like in Wii)
I'm not too sure about new items, though as long as the thundercloud doesn't return that's good enough. Also the blue shells appear WAY too often so that needs to be cut down lol
@@Thegamingwizard55 if they do bring in new items, it’ll probably just be items we’ve had before. I’m thinking that because of how noob friendly 8 deluxe is, the thunder cloud won’t make the cut. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just added in the mega mushroom and the fake item box.
@@Squiddy-go1du Yeah honestly the thunder cloud seems to be highly unlikely considering it only ever appeared once and hasn't been brought back. If the mega mushroom returns then hopefully its theme also returns too.

I feel like they will start making 9 for the switch successor also I see them now doing all courses that were in the previous game and the dlc tracks alongside new courses as a way to give value and with all the courses throughout the years it makes sense to just port them

If they do another BCP, then this calls for more tracks to come. One track I was really disappointed in was DS Airship Fortress, because it’s one of my favorites.

Honestly? I think it's too much but I also think it's gonna happen because the background on the cup rings is gold on the first one, silber on the new dlc and probably then bronze on the dlc that is to come.

There are banners with different items on them hanging on Daisy Cruiser. There are two new items. The Super Bell and the Heart Power

Honestly I’ll take it just cause it makes it more likely funky Kong can be added (in the case he gets swapped out in the last wave for someone like Pauline)
The Most Logical reason for a second Booster course pass is the updating & expand of Mario kart Tour will end eventually,so all remaining tracks the haven’t bring to the current DLC cups add in a potential successor
I think the idea with the first pass was so that every tour track could be played at any time without the need to wait for a specific tour,
So the fact that a decent amount of tour tracks coming out helps the possibility

As far as battle courses go, I'd love to see Double Deck from N64 as it's a pretty underrated course and the battle course from N64 not to be brought back in a later game.

I’m ok with whatever Nintendo does, but It would be cool if we saw another booster course pass. We would have the potential for this Mario kart to have every retro/tour track in existence. Making this Mario kart more like a Mario Kart legacy.

The only things I want to see in the new wave is new items and I want those 2 items slots being mega mushroom and ice flower cause I miss the mega shroom especially in Wii with the voice changer being deeper when using mega shroom in the Wii version of Mario kart

I don't think we will get more racing tracks in a second booster course pass. We are getting to a point where it has a possibility to harm a future mario kart game (why buy a new console for a game with less than half of the tracks on this mario kart game?)
Here's what I think is happening:
New Nintendo console announced in October-December Time alongside game upgrades similar to the next gen upgrades on the Series XS and PS5
(Likely options being Mario kart, Pokemon, Zelda...)
Mario kart gets a graphics update on the booster course pass courses and slight lighting updates to the original 48. Alongside character skins (golden koopa, cat bowser, etc...) and 4-8 new battle courses.
With a release around March time next year, but maybe later.
This would be to get people to buy the new console so that when they inevitably release their next new mario kart, it's more likely people are to buy it. Already have the console so why not...
This would also explain the bare bones release schedule of games coming out. Plus ending on a new mario game would be a great way to end the switch's life cycle (mario wonder)
I think the n xt booster pass would be for the next mario kart game which is probably gonna be at the start of Switch 2....

Since Nintendo have said they want to keep the switch going as long as possible, I don’t think we are going to get another console anytime soon and since 8 deluxe is still selling insanely well, there is no reason for them to release another mainline Mario kart game at the moment.

I do get why they add so many tour tracks (because there’s no consistent way to play them due to track rotation in tour)
