Saw some availability from NYC to SIN for 87.5K miles which are amazing for a 19 hours non stop flight in business class. Aeroplan has become the top mileage program no doubt!
I noticed that lots of the availability, even across the pacific, have as many as 5 J seats per flight, which is a huge deal if you're travelling with more than just 1-2 people. Recently booked a trip from the west coast -> SIN, and SIN -> Japan/Korea for 4 people. Getting award space for that many people in a top tier airline for good redemption value is close to unheard of!
Another thing to mention is that Amex transfer redemption on aeroplan is 1:1 when krisflyer is now 2:1 and going up to 3:1 next month! Thank you so much!
Love your content! Thank you for showing how to book these step-by-step, it is incredibly useful. I am excited to try Singapore airline Biz class on a long haul in the future.
So cool, Max! Planning a trip to SE Asia in 2024, so this will be super helpful when it comes time to book. Also, you're killing it - LOVE seeing your growth here on TH-cam. Congrats!
This is exactly how I booked our trip to manila with 5 days stop over at japan for 92.5k aeroplan points! I wanted to book ana biz class but they only have 1 seat availability and im traveling with my mom. Can’t wait for august to come! My mom is really excited for her 1st biz class flight. As always thank youu for the info!
Great vid 🙌🏻 I’m pretty seasoned at booking aeroplan by now and cannot find anything between now and end of August. Is there any way to show availability of reward flights so we don’t have to search every date combo? The flights I’m getting are 24-48 hr legs with connections from both sfo and Yvr to Singapore. Keep up great work!
Extremely helpful videos, just subscribed! Looks like award availability on the way back is harder to find (Singapore/SE Asia to SFO or LAX). I have been trying to book an award ticket from Bali back to SF at the end of March from my honeymoon but not finding anything except waitlist options in Singapore directly through krisflyer. Was able to get award tickets to Bali from dubai on emirates via aeroplan using your earlier tip!
Another great video! Even if I don't use the exact information from it, I am learning a lot about how frequent miles work. Thank you for the awesome content!
Max, you're the man. You make finding good value award flights way easier. Loved this and your Turkish Airlines video. Found a business class flight from Seattle to Vienna via Istanbul then back from Zurich with a stopover in Istanbul for 130 points and $1175 RT for 2 because of your Turkish video. Hope to find a Singapore flight too! Too bad no first class through Aeroplan but Singapore Business is pretty damn good too.
You have THE BEST content. I follow you on IG and have subscribed since last year. I purchased a spreadsheet from you. You are terrific! I so appreciate your how to videos as a bit of a noob in this hobby. Thank you so much.
Best CONTENT ever. Straight up facts. Can you do a series for specific destinations and how to redeem points? For example, How to travel to vietnam on points, not because its my hometown lol😂😂
Hi Max - wanted to share that thanks to this video and your tips, I was able to make my first J redemption ever using Aeroplan and Amex points! I got lucky and found award space flying Singapore Airlines from JFK to SIN and then on to Bali. Thanks for all you do, I'm super excited to experience SQ business class!
So much details, making it convenient for anyone. However, is this still possible to find award availability if I can simply call this in and ask an agent from Air Canada?
Still works. Award availability changes often. I can’t control what award availability is available. This is the award space from a week ago 08/25 July 21, 22, 24, 29, 31 August 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13 March 31 May 21 SFO - SIN August 27, 2023 June 18, 2024 July 30, 2024 August 7, 12 2024 SEA - SIN July 23, 30 August 1, 13 JFK - SIN February 12 July 31 August 6, 7, 12, 13, 14 EWR - SIN June 26 July 9, 25 August 7, 8, 13
Great videos Max👍👊 I wanted to let you know that recently, I have been unable to see the weekly flight options on Aeroplan. I'm not sure if this is a widespread issue, or if it's just affecting me I thought you should be aware of this, in case you were planning to use Aeroplan for any upcoming travel arrangements. It might be a good idea to check with their customer support team to see if there are any known issues that are causing this problem. Please let me know swell. Thanks 🙏& Keep up the good work.
Great video. I dont have that much pts, thinking tp buy economy or premium economy, and then upgrade to biz using pts. Hope you can make a video on best way to do this...... looking to fly from sfo to malaysia, on a Sin airljne
Just did a check. I don't think I could find any business from SFO to Sin or Taiwan with business class. Mixed cabin sure but it requires layover, ugh!
This sounds great but not sure if it works the other way from Asia back to US. I was trying to book from Hanoi to LAX and couldn’t find business award from Air Canada for this route. On Singapore website, the route from HAN to LAX is 107K Krisflyer miles.
Max this is such a helpful video. But I’m not finding success. Singapore air has a couple direct flights from ewr to sin in March. But then when I go to air Canada there’s no ewr to sin flights showing up. 😢
Do you know if Air Canada would allow a booking from LAX-SIN-JNB? I can't find if they have any rules against this type of routing. I would assume the ticket cost would be 115,000 Aeroplan points for business class considering that Singapore shows Saver award availability.
Hey @MaxMilesPoints, I’m curious if this only works with SQ flights out of North America. I was looking at flights between Asian countries and couldn’t find it in the Air Canada app…?
I'm trying to find a flight from LAX to BKK. I went onto Air Canada website and followed your video to look up Singapore airline flight but only Air Canada and United Airlines are the airlines offering flight to BKK. Did air Canada stop partnership with Singapore airline?
So I purchased a flight with points via Aeroplan to New Zealand, how do you insure the flight should something go wrong (health issues, death in the family, etc.). After searching the internet I can see that flights purchased with points are not insurable. Can I go back and pay for cancellation insurance? I purchased the return with United.
Im very new to this and learning how to redeem miles cheaper way. Would this still work if departing from MNL to SFO ? Also all the examples are searched one way should i search again for return flight separately ? SFO-MNL?
Have you ever purchased a flight in economy or premium economy with cash and then upgraded with points or vice versa?? I'm interested and learning how to do that to stretch my points
why when i search there's no nice point like your, only mixed cabin and also operated by other airlines. i would like singapore airline only. how to get the best date?
Thank you Max!! BTW I have noticed that for certain flights even though I can find seats on two individual flights (A-B and then B-C), when I research directly (A-C) it didn’t show the route of A-B-C somehow… have you ever experienced this kind of issue? Thx!
Thanks for this awesome video! Do you have any information about how often Krisflyer waitlist reservations go through? It says I'll know 2 weeks before departure but I'm afraid by that point it'll be too late to find another award flight..
Because they're limited abd hard to find and released randomly. These videos make it seem there's so much available and even if they were, videos like this make them harder to find
Finished watching your video. Trying to do LAX to SIN for June 2024. I see availability on Singapore site. But when I go into Aeroplan to search it does not show for the same dates. Only show flights operated by Air Canada. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated thanks
Is it possible to do the maximization trip with the next one being Japan? I tried the strategy in the video and confirmed that they have SIN to HND but when I try to do SFO to HND, it doesn't pull anything up for Singapore Airlines.
I looked at booking Business Class to Zurich, where the Direct flight in Business was about 222,000 points. I used your partnered airline method and found a Swiss Flight (SWISS is part of Star Alliance) flying from Toronto to Chicago to Zurich for 87,000 points. This seemed like a great deal, but when I looked at the details, it was Business class only to Chicago and Economy to Zurich, which defeats the purpose since the long haul of the trip is from Chicago to Zurich, where you want to be in Business and not Economy. Why would Aeroplan/ Air Canada even bother to advertise this on their Site as Business Class when most of the flight would be economy?
It's their way of maybe tricking people in thinking they are booking full business class. They usually show Mixed Class and a % on the search results. You can also filter out to exclude Mixed Class itineraries too to avoid accidentally booking one of those
If these miles can't be used to pay my mortgage then they are meant to be spent. You don't have to always fly business or 1st to another side of planet. Maybe a 4 day break economy from JFK TO LHR 😉
can not get the same result with 80K miles for business class if going to HKG or other places within the 11,000 miles option. do you know why and what can we do about it?

Hello, I would love some help, tips, or ideas for an upcoming trip. I have a collection of Chase Ultimate Reward points and I am trying to figure out how best to use them! My wife and I are traveling from Phuket to Los Angeles on either July 7th/8th of this year and we are trying to figure out how best to use our points to book airfare. We are not sure which travel partners to transfer points to, or if we should just book through the Ultimate Rewards Portal. Our goal is to maximize our points and hopefully have economy extra legroom seats or better. Please help if you can!
Hey, if you dates are fixed I recommend buying a day pass for Point.me (www.point.me/?pid=300) (affiliate link). It'll search 33 different airline programs and give you real-time award availability and tell you which option is the best option to redeem your Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
Hi Max, thanks for the video good contents as always. I searched several dates on Singapore’s website which shows award availability but when I use Aeroplan instead to search for the same day, the flights do not show up, do you have any ideas why that happen? Am I doing anything wrong?
The same thing is happening to me as well. Not sure what im doing wrong. Found multiple award availability on singapore airlines but only showing non stop flights from united airlines on Aeroplan
How did you choose your seats once you booked your flight on Aeroplan? I booked a Turkish airlines flight on Aeroplan but am unable to choose my seats. Please help!
Air cananda should've given you a turkish airlines confirmation number. Look for that and then go to the turkish airlines website with that confirmation number and pick your seat
It’s not a secret , this is a redemption Aeroplan chooses to offer. Availability might be sparse which is the reason why you aren’t seeing it. Look into flights 11+ months in advance and you might find a a few flights
I don't see how you are saving money by saving on points. The difference is 19.5k points but what is the cash equivalent to Aeroplan's $74CA? You didn't address this. Isn't it more like 26 CAD? If so, then 107k points is the better deal.
Random question, Max. Are there any benefits that you don't have access to if you book via Aeroplan instead of directly with the KrisFlyer program? Specifically, I was wondering if a ticket through Aeroplan still allows someone to use Book-the-Cook feature (if leaving out of SIN) and access the Business Lounge at Changi? Thanks for your amazing tutorials!
All the benefits are still the same. I just checked with my recent booking. You can manage your aeroplan booking with singapore website. You just have to enter your booking reference on singapore airlines website and it’ll be able to find your flight. From then, you are able to book the cook or edit other flight details.
Hey. Just did this exercise. Found a Singapore airlines reward flight from lax to singapore for 107k (no waitlist). Looked for the flight on air canada but there is no business class available. Only economy available. This is for a flight happening on July 2025. Does this happen often?
Singapore airlines releases more award availability to Singapore airlines members. If you find it on Singapore Airline's website no gaurantee you'll find it on Air Canada If you find it on Air Canada's website, high likely chance you'll find it on Singapore Airline's website I don't recommend starting your search on the Singapore Airline's website unless you intend to book through there

If I wish part of the travel in First?. Toronto YYZ to Manila. F is only part of the itinerary.

I don't recommend starting your search on the Singapore Airline's website unless you intend to book through there
@@MaxMilesPoints thank you for the response

What?
Due to job and other obligations, not everyone has the luxury to book vacations 10 months in advance.
But most people can request vacation time well in advance. Obv if you have a lot of other things going on, then this is not for you
