Amazing. Arrangement, delivery, voice, emotion. Simply nailed it, thanks for sharing. Cry without weeping, talk without speaking, scream without raising your voice. One of Bono's most powerful lyrics.
Really nice. Just popped up on my feed, and am very glad to have come across it. I am an old 80's guy. I remember buying this album when it first came out, brought it home, and listened to it in my room with the guys in my band. We were mesmerized. You did the song justice young man. Well done. My son was 14, just started playing guitar, never heard the song before, and we jammed it last February. Have a listen if you are interested. TH-cam search: Running to Stand Still Jam with my Kid. It really is one of those beautiful songs! Keep playing my friend! Music is the one friend who will ALWAYS be there for you! ;)
Hey James, thanks for your comment. I appreciate your kind words, and for you taking the time to share your story about hearing the song for the first time. I had a listen to your version with your son, I really enjoyed it. You added something different, but definitely still captured the heart of the song. Great job :)
Hey! Thanks for your comment :) I started off by doing some short guitar clips, which then led to playing full guitar covers. Then I migrated to doing some covers that included singing. The first of those was Love Can Only Heal by Myles Kennedy, which is also on my channel :)
@@JackDowlingMusic I meant in this particular song. Like, did you just record all of the rhythm track first and layer on that? Do bits of other parts of the song and then do the rhythm track? If can recall, what was your order of operation. Curious because we prolly have much the same equipment set up but since you've gotten as far as creating a library, you're ahead of me. Advice is appreciated. Thanks.
@@JB-io8ys oh, sorry, I misunderstood 😂 I started with the electric guitar against the metronome. After that I added the piano, followed by the vocals and acoustic on one track. Then the percussion (me hitting the guitar), slide guitar, and other flourishes at the end. I'd advise you to start with a track that is consistent throughout the song. In this case the electric rhythm guitar. It serves as a good foundation. Happy to chat further if you need any tips :)
