    In the third grade I was told I had nodules on my vocal chords
    I was told not to talk too much. I barely said a word . 50 years late I am still told to shut up.

    I work as a chef and also study physiotherapy so in general I do tend to use my voice a lot, especially shouting in the kitchen. I have been dealing with a lump in mu throat for over 3 months now. Until now I did not know what it was, although this is a self-diagnosis I might just be right because after seeing 2 doctors I have ruled out a lot of other diseases. I will try resting my voice now and see if that helps.

    When my left lung and lymphoid glands were removed the surgeon had to go into my mouth and down my throat to remove some of those glands as they had become cancerous but by doing so damaged my vocal chords to the point were I could barely whisper a single word. I'm not angry with him as he did indeed save my life. So a few months later I had surgery done to put an implant on my vocal chords which though successful my voice has become hourse and while before the surgery I could sing my voice has become more gravely. Is there anything I can do to improve the quality of my voice?

    You didn't mention inflammitory conditions immune system athritis where can affect the voice steroid put mine away but it came back after 2 month due to inflammation .no laryngitis but affecting the voice. Also the thyroid inflammation

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @annmacleod1099 You're absolutely right-certain inflammatory conditions, autoimmune disorders, and issues like arthritis can definitely affect the voice due to inflammation in the vocal cords or surrounding tissues. Conditions such as thyroid inflammation (like Hashimoto's disease or thyroiditis) can also impact voice quality, as the thyroid plays a role in regulating hormones that affect the voice box. Steroid treatment can help reduce inflammation, but as you've experienced, symptoms may return if inflammation persists. It's important to work with a healthcare provider to manage these conditions and reduce inflammation effectively to protect your voice.

    My husband left me. I came down with pneumonia. But when I got over it my voice never got better. Is this a stress response? I don’t know what to do. It’s been over a year. I miss singing so much😢

      I'm sorry to hear you're going through this; it's possible that stress and underlying medical conditions could be affecting your voice-please see an ENT specialist to explore further.

      @celine0714-j6w I’m really sorry to hear you’re going through this, and I understand how challenging it must be. Bilateral laryngitis can definitely take a toll on your voice and self-confidence. Since you've been dealing with it for a while, it’s understandable that you’re frustrated with medications. A few things that might help are vocal rest, staying hydrated with warm drinks (like honey and lemon), and avoiding irritants like smoke or loud talking. It's also worth looking into speech therapy to help strengthen your vocal cords. Most importantly, consider checking in with an ENT specialist for a thorough evaluation-sometimes alternative treatments like voice therapy or lifestyle changes can bring relief. Take care of yourself, and I hope you find a solution that works for you. 💙

    i feel like there is a lump in my left vocal chord (but that sensation could be removed by drinking a ginger+milk)... and also, im now often cracking when sustaining a note from E4 and above... but my range is still there... I just annoyed that im now often cracking when singing high

    • @fantazee5917
      @fantazee5917 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @gHaiL my symptoms (2022) are 1. Feeling a lump inside my throat (rarely feeling it), 2. Often cracking when singing (at least 1x cracking per song), moreover when im trying to sustain the note
      The lump is really hurts the first time i lost my voice (almost impossible to produce any sound, but it recovered after 2 days), the hurt feels like being stabbed by a sharp fish bone... i thought i got a throat cancer... so i went to the doctor, and he gave me a vitamin (perharps vitamin C) and it (the pain) stayed for almost 2 weeks, it happens on 2018
      My range is still there (2022) (doesnt have any problem hitting a highnote... even i can hit higher note than before now...)
      Btw, last week i got the second lump on the right side of vocal cord, im not sure if it's a real lump like the one that stayyed on my left vocal cord, or just a flu (the lump on my right vocal cord is already gone now, but i dont know if it gonna be back again or gone forever)

    I feel light grinding and sometimes hear a crack

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Chirs7 Light grinding or hearing a crack could indicate issues like joint strain, misalignment, or wear, especially in areas like the knees, jaw, or other joints. If it’s painless, it might not be serious, but if it’s frequent or accompanied by discomfort, consulting a doctor or physiotherapist is a good idea. Early care can prevent potential problems! 😊✨

    My singing voice is less versatile, its much raspier and airy causing not to hit head voice or any high pitch voice, my falsetto voice is very airy, my voice is a much comparison of mariah carey's...i don't know what it is or what might've caused it.

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @onewelegion It sounds like you’re referring to something affecting your well-being that might feel beyond just physical issues, possibly related to spiritual or emotional aspects. Sometimes, stress or emotional strain can manifest physically, leading to issues like muscle cramps. If you're feeling that there's a deeper, perhaps spiritual element involved, it might be helpful to explore practices that address both physical and emotional health, like mindfulness, meditation, or talking to a counselor or spiritual advisor. Balancing your overall well-being can help manage both physical discomfort and emotional stress.
