@@sweatyben1550 nah the tracking on the R2 sucks, the moveset is really simple and has no versatility cause you cant change the ash of war. It has a decent damage but there are better options out there.
Holy Moly, I copied your power stance strats with a Cold +24 Claymore and a +10 Moonlight Greatsword. Thanks to the Claw Talisman, my jumping attack hits like 1100+ and 1350+ w/frozen, staggers consistently while punishing those edgy walk from a safe distance. I summoned my Omenkiller Rollo during phase 2 and after ~7 hours of struggle, I finally beat her at SL103! Aah, you were at my side all along. My true mentor... My guiding moonlight.. and you as well! Thank you so much.
It's actually really impressive that you were able to beat her at level 103! Most people and even the wiki recommended her ENTIRE area to be for level 120 and above. Well done
whats also strong about the dark moon greatsword is that the projectile is a heavy attack and does really good posture damage, you can ledgit stagger bosses with a couple of hits

@@TheMw3trickshot no, you can see him switching to a dagger to use the step. the moonlight greatsword can't be modified. most other greatswords can, though - I've enjoyed using a bloodhound step zweihander.
Wow, we happened to do the same run at the same time with the same weapons! Definitely still a hard run even though the Dark Moon Greatswords pack a punch! I just healed thru her hits because I couldn't be bothered to learn the no hit strats, nice run!
I'm 60 hours in, this is my main weapon, still haven't gotten to most of the annoying bosses (except the Red Wolf was stupid annoying but I think he's seen as chump tier for most players) and I dread the hour I get to Malenia. So thanks for proving that my favorite weapon so far can do this!
All weapons can do her technically, shes not some kind of heavy mechanical boss, she just pulls out bs attacks that cant be dodged unless you are away from her.
I didn't get a complete zero hit fight, but I did the same(ish) thing with great knife MH and Reduvia OH, milking those BHQS for all they were worth. Putting 1500 damage out combined with a bleed proc each time she went flower mode made phase 2 a joke.
@@dhaumyagango1076 MH = main hand, OH = off hand BHQS = bloodhound quick step. I was somewhere mid 80's to low 90's in level. 40 ARC, around 30 DEX, rest into VIG and END. Move in to proc bleed when you get openings, and sling the Reduvia weapon art at her when she's at a distance. BHQS makes it a lot easier to create distance from her blender attacks.
@@rashiro At that level you were doing 1500 damage with a single hit with daggers ? Seems bullshit. Even with a great sword you do around 1000 damage per heavy hit with 60+ strength.

Everyone complains that this boss fight was poorly made. While I’ve seen videos of what people are talking about, I also see that you can allocate your stats to different stats in this game. Yes you need to do a little farming for the materials but it’s still possible. All you need to do is make yourself overpowered and you can destroy her almost instantly. Some people like this guy are just that good and lucky but not everyone is and that’s ok. To those who say you can’t beat this game I believe in you! You can do it! Don’t give up! And don’t think you need to play fair.
I never saw that clone move when I fought her cause i couldn’t survive that long I rushed her down with my bleed build and prayed she didn’t use waterfowl dance. Amazing

Yep, that's how I dodge the desperate attack from Malenia as well but I still get caught by it sometimes. So I guess the best way, is to retreat backwards using Bloodhound. Does rolling backwards does the same?
Rolling backwards is a bad idea. U wanna always roll forward to get behind her as how the video shows. She has pauses in-between the flurry. So after the first flurry that you roll behind her wait for the second flurry and roll behind her again and keep rolling away from her after that.

I want to know on how we can preserve Stamina better by rolling but looks like we'll have to use the Bloodhound to get away safely.
If you can't space out the first flurry because you're too late to, you have to block it or bloodhound step it seems. The 2nd and 3rd spin are pretty easy to dodge.
@@Asriel_Cypher As a Mage, I was able to space her out that I was always able to run away from her first flurry. The 2nd and 3rd are simple to dodge after that.

Just a question why did you do so little damage with the projectiles? I beat her (NG) with the DM Greatsword at 70int and I was doing abt 1.5k+ damage per projectile.
Watching videos like these really inspires me to get back in the game and try again... that I can do it... only to get smashed again within a minute or less.
Hot diggity damn! That was impressive! I really got to get my hands on that Bloodhound step. I struggled so damn hard with her, and I had a mimic tear +10. (Damn thing kept healing her.) So I finally had to admit defeat and call on some randos. I'll get her on my own eventually.
i actually switched over to this build after getting my second dark moon GS on ng+ and it's fun but i can't tell if id rather use this or a dual katana bleed build with a hand of melenia and bleed nagakiba, which one would you chose?
i just came here to see how a dual Moonlight would looks like, i just about it, because i just got one, and thought "2 of these must be insane". it's my favorite weapon from the souls series
Sekiro fights blow Elden Ring fights out of the water in terms of design, too many of the Elden ring bosses towards to the end here are extremely unbalanced (still very easily doable but just not fun) since they just spike up the damage/health and give them insane attacks which make your character feel like a pest. Example? Look at the fight in front of you and imagine how it would go without using the most broken skills, bloodhound step. Actually, it feels exactly like you’re fighting a Sekiro boss but with a DS3 character. If that’s the feeling you want, you’ll love it, but most people and I do not have fun being like a little slug in front of a boss putting on a turbo speed fireworks show unless we too can do the same.
It's funny seeing people say things like "omg genius move to use another weapon with BHS to quickly change between them! I'm shook 😱" That's the first thing I thought about when I saw BHS. I could use the weapon of my liking while having another random, or some other weapon that I like and slow me to change it's Ashe of war with the BHS. In my case it was the Godskin Peeler. I'm on my way to get my second Dark Moon and how that I can manage to use it with my current stats, otherwise I might need some extra levels cause I won't be respec just for this.
Man thats Crazy to me, I've been trying to beat her for the past 6 hours with the moonveil, I get to her Second fase only 1 out 6 tries and If I'm Lucky I get her to half health, but I did learn that the bloodhound step is Crazy good to get away from her combos in your video so I'm gonna try that tomorrow.

I've run this exact solo run, except replacing the offhand DMGS with fire misericode to reset frostbite (and its light, since I want light rolls to dodge the flurries) and just punishing her big attacks with buffed R2s It took awhile, but hey it works and much safer for a solo no damage run
Bloodhound step ash of war, you can see that he changes weapons when he does that, its from his second weapon, you get it from one of those black knights in horses in caelid.

Naah you are just bad tbh if you are summoning mimic pre nerf patch (which was so op) and you barely won? It is a simple fact that you are not that good in the game tbh really. I always solo everything in my first walkthrough even Malenia using my golden halberd and outdamaged her healing so easily and face tanked her waterdance attack twice in the row (the third one I had to dodge). Some people need to learn to have some patience in these games not everything has to be super fast just learn the fight.
I did a not hit run as well. But in reverse. She took no damage and I kept running away trying to recover my health

He took 7 hours and used a spirit summon. There isn't anything remotely impressive about that lol. Still I'm sure he's glad it's over.
