As someone who left Islam to follow Christ, I understand the family struggle. My family wants me dead for leaving their religion. I put Jesus above everything and everyone, myself included.
I have denied myself, picked up my cross and followed Him. I don’t know where I’m suppose to go but I trust my God has a special plan for me.

I got a question could you answer this please when they sit there and drink something like water out of those little cups are they drinking real water out of those cups or is it just pretend.. and and I really think it's a neat idea a real cute they all got the clothes line up with the clothes hanging up over the clothesline you know the background you know things to make it look you know and the grapes that's in the bowl at Matthews mom's house that's on the table are those real or are they plastic I'm asking these questions from the chosen TV series can you answer these questions

Invite God and Jesus into your day. When your getting ready ask him to be with you when your watching something ask him to be with you he wants to spend time with you in anything you do and through out the day talk to him about anything and everything and instead of venting to people vent to him for he’s the only one who can make it better and won’t use it against you for he doesn’t judge you and loves you no matter what you do
Lord said my perfect one my dove it’s nothing you can do to make God or Jesus stop loving you he loves to hear from you no matter if you mad sad or whatever he loves you and believes in you no matter what he wants you to talk to him about your plans people hate on your plans but God and Jesus won’t he knows how special you are so even if you have nobody God and Jesus are always here no matter what you did just talk to them and listen with your heart or sometimes go on google and look up Bible verses go to images and close your eyes and pick one and take that as what he has to say to you remember to tell God and Jesus your plan they got you not these people no matter what you do they will love you ❤️ he created you and will never let you go Remember to spend time with God and Jesus doing anything it can be watching shows getting ready lord said my perfect one my dove it’s nothing you can do to make him stop loving you a good way to hear him is to goggle Bible verses and pick one with your eyes closed invite him to be with you just getting ready or anything but make God proud about what you post and praise him for everything
Gaius seems like a genuinely nice person given how he was caring for Matthew in his own way and reached out to his family.
And glory be to God that He redeemed Him... placed me in tears.
I loved seeing the transformation of characters in this scene. For years and and years Matthew and his parents hadn’t talked at all. Suddenly there comes Jesus and his amazing sermon and it motivates Matthew to speak to his parents and his parents to reconcile with him. Wow! So amazing to see that. It’s amazing to witness the miracles that god can perform and sometimes listening to his word can help us in certain situations more than others
The only thing I didn't get was why his father only shook his hand & didn't embrace him like his mother did during the reconciliation scene.

@@rachels9598 Matthew is being portrayed as autistic in this series & doesn't like being touched (we see a hint of this in the circle prayer with the disciples - Simon says "I know you hate it Matthew, but you too.") Probably only his mother can "get away with" hugging him.

Yes. Matthew was troubled after witnessing the fish miracle. If he was ever going to understand, he had to follow the one who made him troubled. And so it was! Jesus had already spoken of Matthew when speaking to Thomas at the wine miracle. "Theres someone like you in Capernaum, always counting, always measuring".
Shalom Shalom everyone. Saint Matthew was killed in India when he was doing what he was supposed and ordained to do. All the apostles were killed. Only Saint John, he lived a long life, wrote the book. He lived in the Island, Patmos. The incredible books and gospel of the four saints must be read. Look up, The Road to Damascus of Saint Paul who came much later after the apostles. The Bible must be read 😊 May Our LORD continue His blessings to all my brothers and sisters in Christ ✨
My favorite part was when Jesus called him and Matthew was so special

I, too, am “mildly fond” of Matthew. As someone who has been praying for reconciliation of a family member for many years this has given me so much hope. The telling thing was that both sides listened to Jesus’ words and acted upon them. That will continue to be my prayer, for my heart and theirs. Thank you, Chosen Team.

I've watched all of these episodes and seen this progression take place. Multiple times. For some reason, until today, watching this video, pieced together the way it was, I never really identified with Matthew all that much. Today, something is different. I cried as Matthew said that he didn't know why Jesus chose him. To be honest, I feel the same. But if Matthew is part of God's plan then so am I. Thank you for this today.

Thank you for putting all these pieces of Matthew's story together this way. Paras's portrayal of Matthew is so very watchable and relatable.
I love how you show Matthew’s progression to repentance. It doesn’t happen immediately. Even when he decides to follow Jesus, he still doesn’t fully see what he’s done wrong. Then when confronted by Simon and Andrew in Season 2, he’s still defensive. It takes two full seasons of growth and learning to be humble before he actually apologizes.
I just love how it demonstrates that even genuine conversion isn’t an overnight fix. It’s a long-term commitment to do the work and faith that God will see you through.
He still hasn’t had a real heart-to-heart resolution with Simon though. Hope that’s coming. Simon has some work still to do as well. Maybe this conflict will be the catalyst in Simon asking Jesus “How many times do I need to forgive my brother?” 🤔

I love the part where Jesus called Matthew to follow him. It makes me smile and feel happy every time I see it.
As the only person in my hindu family to come to Christ through a dream, and baptised in Him, continuing to live with my parents, learning how to love them like Jesus Wants, despite their disapproval of my faith - needless to say, the last scene with Matthew's family reconciling with him gives me immense hope. I know that my Lord Jesus will carry me through and one day bring my family to Him

Yeah I was just wondering why that part of the storyline was dropped. I mean I know the dog was a metaphor for being a despised outcast in society, but it would have been nice to know "The rest of the story" about the dog just to have closure.
I looked it up and Isrealites didn't have pet dogs until later on compared to other civilization groups. I'm not sure when they adopted the trend but it would explain why his parents look concerned and confused about the dog and Gaius wondering why they seem clueless about how dogs work.

Matthew's character arc ~ along with those surrounding this entire storyline throughout the series ~ has been sooo beautiful ~ I still cry for J😂Y 🙌🏽 every time I watch them all unfold❣🙏🏽

Blessed enough to have seen this with many other Chosen fans at the Atlanta premiere last year. The whole audience was crying and clapping. It was such an emotional moment. Can't imagine how Paras was feeling sitting there. He so beautifully portrays Matthew. And I'm sure this reconciliation was something many people can relate to on some level. I certainly can. Love this!

As someone with autism, i relate to Matthew's portrayal so much. And little moments like him fidgeting with the cloth and laying it down to hug his Eema (which wasn't scripted) are such freat visual storytelling. Showing how anxious he is, and then how relieved he is to be accepted back into his family.

Jesus the King! As long as you're not stuck in a religious (spirit) you can't understand how important this beautiful TV series is! The church was never meant to be divided into denominations. Out of order WHO CARES, we know the Word and this is truly ANOINTED by God for such a time as this 🙏 it's a beautiful thing to imagine how it may have been. I thank you Dallas and the wonderful crew and actors for such a phenomenal job! I lost my husband last April so it's been a journey for myself and our 2 son's. He was so lost and committed suicide, but my kid's and I were already absolutely hooked on The Chosen. I have to say there are no words for how this show has helped us through it! We all ware our Chosen sweatshirts and every time we do SOMEONE always comments to us that they love the show as well! Believers sure, but mostly unbelievers who are finding their way to Jesus through watching! It ALWAYS turns into a conversation and sincere love by the time we part ways. It's truly a blessing how The Chosen has given common ground to share Jesus with strangers who would have mabey never even thought about it. God bless and keep you all 🙏❤️🔥

You can literally feel the power of God hit your soul at that moment.. it's a feeling that can't be characterized with human words. Nothing that I could attempt to describe it would come close to giving it any form of the justice that it deserves. "A shock wave of the most powerful, and explosive love" is merely an understatement for it..
I am also on the spectrum. I grew up in the 70s, when people didn’t know much about it. I had no support from my family. My mother used to tell people, “don’t pay any attention to him, he’s different.“
Everytime Matthew describes himself as different, I feel closer to his character. When Jesus said, “get used to different,“ I have never felt more proud of myself.
Praise God for forgiveness and restoration by His love!

Very beautiful! The journey to reconciliation is very difficult and painful but its one of the most beautiful human experiences.
The top five of my Favorite books of the bible and watching it come to life on the screen with the dialogue and all the words being lifted off of the pages of the bible exhilarates me and makes me stronger in my conviction to follow jesus

My favorite moment here is when the parents realize that Matthew is Jesus' scribe. But a close second is the symbolism of Matthew putting down his ever-present tissue (20:14) in order to fully hug his mother. It's the moment he releases his past emotional bondage.

matthew shows us how anyone can follow Jesus. how He is always holding out His hand. ready for us to be with Him. no matter what circumstance our life looks like. He is ready to help us make that change. thank you Jesus! for not giving up on me.

In my country literature and art in general is portraying woman very closely with the emphasis of being a housewife, a mother, and sometimes a single mother. It is so helpful to understand the role of a woman and mother through this lens of Jewish tradition within the community then. The role of Mathew's mother has been an eyeopener and the portrayal is offering pure moments that just makes Matthew seem blissful in a deep way.
Watching again and again, each time more layers are unveiled.

My son rarely makes eye-contact, but when he does it is the most intense eye-contact you will ever experience... and Paras does this particularly well. And the mannerisms are spot-on. I love the storyline of the Matthew character in this show, including especially his reunion with his parents, because it causes me to think back to the real Matthew, and wonder what it would have been like for him. Jewish, yet collecting Roman taxes from his own people. He, too, would have been treated as an outcast, a traitor. Wealth and personal comfort would likely have been his reason. Then after traveling with Jesus, he would very likely have gained all this same perspective on the selfishness of those choices, the pain he would have put his family through.
It's all a very credible and highly likely progression. And one I had never considered before this show suggested it to me. What a blessing!
I’m happy to say that the best TV show/series I have ever watched on TV is about my God, my Lord Jesus Christ, my personal Lord and savior… I have watched the season 1-3 at least 10 times 🎉😂
