  • This is the moment when Jesus’ learners become leaders. In this scene from Season 3, Episode Two, Jesus chooses 12 of his disciples to serve as apostles-official representatives and ambassadors of his kingdom. And with their new role comes their first major assignment: to go out in pairs throughout all of Israel to preach and do miracles.

      Ayo, I don’t mean to force anything on anyone, but we have various types of evidence for biblical events. *IF* anyone is interested, read on.
      *NOTE:* I can’t prove God to you. It all comes down to your choice to put your trust in Jesus Christ. That’s all faith is-TRUST. Unfortunately in these recent years, science and “religion” (as we know them today) have bastardized each other and themselves.
      Point is, faith is trusting in Jesus. It’s not a blind jump into what people deem “irrational.” Billy Graham said something reminiscent of that.
      I have no power over you. I can only tell you, but I can’t force you. (I mean, we’re conversing online lol. I’m not at your location… yet)
      james 4:8 “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
      hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
      Check out “HolyLandSite, Cold-Case Christianity, Delafé Testimonies.” There may be more, but those are the ones I know of.
      religion (Christianity) is just a relationship with God along with loving others (see james 1:27)
      *Now, onto the evidence!!*
      Here's one example: Scientists have discovered that the earth "skipped" a day.
      The Bible explains how that happened. In the book of Joshua, Joshua asked the sun to stop so he and the Israelites could defeat their enemies. Then in 2 Kings, King Hezekiah learned he was dying, and pleaded to God to not let him die. God sent a prophet to king hezekiah who said hezekiah would live. Hezekiah wanted a sign, and that would be for the sun to defy the law of inertia and go back 10 degrees. NASA confirmed all this and did the math (look it up for more info).
      We also found Noah’s Ark hanging out in turkey, along with anchor stones marked with crosses signifying that it’s a revered place, along with altars and many other related findings. Look it up, it’s good stuff (HolyLandSite).
      more evidence for the Bible concerning cosmology and divine revelation in job 26:7, proverbs 8:27, Isaiah 40:22 (read on)
      The idea that the earth was round can be dated back to 600 BC in Greece. It was more widely accepted around the 3rd century (300 BC-201 BC) The idea that the Earth floated in space was concocted circa 500 BC. Note: time was “labeled” differently back then. for example, year 3000, year 420, year 69, year 0, year 1, year 2… and so on.
      Job 26:7: “. . .He [God] hangs the earth on nothing” The book of Job was supposedly written at 2100 BC.
      Proverbs 8:27: “. . .when He drew a circle on the face of the deep. . .” Proverbs was possibly written between 970 and 686 BC
      Isaiah 40:22: “it is He who sits above the circles of the earth. . .” Isaiah was written between 739 and 680 BC.
      This one doesn’t pertain to cosmology, but it refers to divine revelation nonetheless. So you know how the Euphrates River is drying up? Well, guess what? People in the Bible are saying: “Been there, done that.” Read on to learn more.
      Isaiah 11:15 “The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals.”
      Revelation 16:12 “The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.”
      How did they know about this? You tell me, my fellow Zoomerz.
      Now for evidence outside the Bible
      The Holy Spirit exists. I was suicidal for 9-ish months, but then I read John 3:16, and poof- the big sad went away in one night.
      Also, look up John Gabbana's (boonk gang) testimony. Dude did a lot of wacky stuff. He's changed now.
      Check out “Delafé Testimonies.” They got some good stuff as well
      *YOU CANNOT DENY THE WORK GOD DOES IN PEOPLE’S LIVES*
      also, the soul exists. someone i know (i won't say who- privacy reasons) saw their soul leaving their body. like pulling off a band-aid, except it doesn't hurt.
      *There are also non-Christian sources who have confirmed the existence and divinity of Jesus, some of which were hostile towards Christianity, such as:*
      Thallus (52 AD), who said Jesus lived, was crucified, and confirmed the darkness and earthquake that followed Christ’s crucifixion;
      Tacitus (56-120 AD), who called the followers of Christ “Christians,” confirmed that Jesus was crucified under Pontus Pilate’s command;
      Talmud (400-700 AD), confirmed that the disciples were martyred for their faith, and confirmed Jesus was executed the day before the Passover, and said Jesus had “magical” powers;
      Pliny the Younger (61-113 AD), who said that the Christians thought Jesus was/is God in the Flesh (God the Son);
      Phlegon (80-140 AD), who said Jesus had the ability to predict the future, and confirmed that Jesus was crucified during Caesar’s reign, confirmed Jesus rose from the dead, and confirmed He showed His wounds to confirm He was crucified;
      Celcus (175 AD), who said Jesus was born of a virgin, said His father is a carpenter, and confirmed Jesus had miraculous powers;
      (See cold-case Christianity for more details)
      Here’s the physical evidence of Jesus and His Resurrection:
      1) No persecution would have started if He hadn’t come back (even the disciples thought Jesus would never make the ultimate comeback)
      2) The Roman soldiers would have paid with their lives if they failed at their jobs
      3) there was a 2-4 ton rock that 11-12 guys would have to move (The disciples deserted Him, remember? They didn’t have any help. Everyone said, “Crucify Him!” major L to those opposed to Jesus)
      4) there was a Roman seal which was a metal pin that sealed the tomb stone (they would have to break that off; there were well-trained Roman guards there as well).
      5) Stealing the Jesus’s body isn’t something the disciples would do (besides Judas. Although he hung himself after feeling remorse for betraying Jesus).
      6) the disciples wouldn’t die for what they knew would be a lie. (The lie being Jesus never made the ultimate comeback. They were called to not be liars. I mean, they hung out with the Son of God/God in the flesh. Come on, now).
      faith, science, and reason, people (as we all know them today, and as it was before all those things were tarnished)
      Brothers, what have we done. look at us. look at what we've become. This isn't right. we're wasting time going on about girls and sus drawings that don't give a f*ck about us. What is the point of lust? Why do we do this? This doesn't fix our problems, doesn't make the stress and pain go away.
      repent to God, friends. We must stay focused, brothers, on what really matters. I'm only 17, but I'm telling you, in the words of johnny cash, "sooner or later God will cut you down."
      I don’t want you to suffer like I did/do.
      *YOU WILL LOSE ALMOST EVERYTHING IMPORTANT TO YOU! PLEASE, FOR YOUR SAKES, REPENT AND TURN TO JESUS! SAVE YOURSELVES FROM YOURSELVES! It’s a pit you *CAN NOT* get out of. *AGAIN, I DON’T WANT YOU TO SUFFER LIKE I DID/DO! I LOVE AND CARE FOR YOU TO TELL YOU THIS!* He is, to quote Skillet, "better than drugs." He is also *WAY* better than lust. love is greater than lust. You'll find out that this is true. love may hurt, and same for lust, but lust will keep you chained down, eventually killing you mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and possibly physically. AGAIN, I DON’T WANT YOU TO SUFFER LIKE I DID/DO!
      hell was never meant for us, my fellow youtube user. it was for the devil and his squad, and God gave us the Way out of there since we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
      God knew we were wack, but He decided He He’ll come down and help us, despite our unfaithfulness. most relationships (like friendships, romantic relationships) aren't like this. Very few, but not a whole lot.
      hit me up to learn more about how science proves the Bible or just about God in general

    I love this unique portrayal of Judas. He's not being portrayed as a dark-countenance, iffy person. He's winsome and eager, charming and willing. It's so meaningful and revealing of us.

      Judas was chosen, he was no less than the others, he had his role to play which stained his image, and since John was one of the closest to Jesus, he portrayed Judas in an even worst light. It had to come from one of the 12.

      @@paxChristi123 John and Peter and my favorite disciples, I didn't write that to put him down in any way, all of us would do the same, after experiencing Jesus first hand for 3 years, you'd feel negatively at whoever did anything against him.

      I don’t know if you call yourself Christian but that is a very misguided view of the inherent Bible. It’s also hardly John. Mark and Luke also portray Judas the same with Luke even telling us the remaining apostles declared he faced destruction and Jesus saying it would’ve been better if he had never been born.
      Matthew is who tells us Judas felt guilty and hanged himself.
      Now in my view all this is to show that Judas may have not appeared a terrible person at times but he was never a “true believer.” He did not have faith in Jesus in the end which is why he died not physically and spiritually and Peter did not.
      He is a reminder that only faith in Jesus will save you in the end. Of course he was not Hitler incarnate which is why I do like this portrayal of him in the show and am eager to see how they portray the betrayal.
      BUT Judas was guilty as charged indeed and did NOT REPENT in the end. Feeling guilty alone is not repentance and nothing in the Bible implies any redemption arc for him as you seem to imply, and saying John just didn’t like him and even imply he made up his story lacks any evidence beyond your mere speculations and ignores all the other writers in the Bible too, I guess Luke hated him too even though Luke never even knew him.

      I especially loved how this series showed him exorcising demons and guiding the Jews away from pagan rituals. He truly had the power that Christ gave to all his true followers.
      And I dread what is to come. We all know what happens next, and it will be heartbreaking.

      @@paxChristi123 The true issue with Judas was not a deception by evil, but rather a profound loss of faith in the face of guilt. He believed his transgression was unforgivable, leading him to despair and ultimately to his tragic end. This contrasts with Peter, who, despite denying Jesus thrice, sought redemption through sincere repentance and was able to overcome his guilt. This teaches us a vital lesson about human fallibility and the power of faith. Each day, we may face our own challenges and temptations, but it is our steadfast belief in forgiveness and the transformative power of repentance that can guide us through. It's essential to remember that no mistake is too great to be beyond the scope of forgiveness, as long as we maintain our faith and are willing to earnestly work towards redemption.

      Thallus (52 AD), who said Jesus lived, was crucified, and confirmed the darkness and earthquake that followed Christ’s crucifixion;
      Tacitus (56-120 AD), who called the followers of Christ “Christians,” confirmed that Jesus was crucified under Pontus Pilate’s command;
      Talmud (400-700 AD), confirmed that the disciples were martyred for their faith, and confirmed Jesus was executed the day before the Passover, and said Jesus had “magical” powers;
      Pliny the Younger (61-113 AD), who said that the Christians thought Jesus was/is God in the Flesh (God the Son);
      Phlegon (80-140 AD), who said Jesus had the ability to predict the future, and confirmed that Jesus was crucified during Caesar’s reign, confirmed Jesus rose from the dead, and confirmed He showed His wounds to confirm He was crucified;
      Celcus (175 AD), who said Jesus was born of a virgin, said His father is a carpenter, and confirmed Jesus had miraculous powers;

      Thallus (52 AD), who said Jesus lived, was crucified, and confirmed the darkness and earthquake that followed Christ’s crucifixion;
      Tacitus (56-120 AD), who called the followers of Christ “Christians,” confirmed that Jesus was crucified under Pontus Pilate’s command;
      Talmud (400-700 AD), confirmed that the disciples were martyred for their faith, and confirmed Jesus was executed the day before the Passover, and said Jesus had “magical” powers;
      Pliny the Younger (61-113 AD), who said that the Christians thought Jesus was/is God in the Flesh (God the Son);
      Phlegon (80-140 AD), who said Jesus had the ability to predict the future, and confirmed that Jesus was crucified during Caesar’s reign, confirmed Jesus rose from the dead, and confirmed He showed His wounds to confirm He was crucified;
      Celcus (175 AD), who said Jesus was born of a virgin, said His father is a carpenter, and confirmed Jesus had miraculous powers;

    If secular culture were not so biased against religious media, this scene alone would merit the Chosen being considered for an Emmy. The dialog was deftly crafted. The reactions from the actors seemed so believable. Its the sort of plausible responses you would expect from ordinary men, thrust into extraordinary circumstances. The scene perfectly captures the truism that if one is to distance oneself from ones past, and move beyond that shadow of ones former self to be something greater, it requires an act of faith to do something new.

    7:01 this part is sent chills down my spine for those whom have read the bible knew, all of the apostles here in the end gave their lives for the gospel, they were all martyred with the exception of John who was exiled all alone to a faraway island and die of natural causes, all by himself. His brother James died and he had to live with that all alone in exile until he passed on and Peter, his wife Eden was also martyred alongside him. In fact he had to watch her die before his turn. And he accepted it all in his stride and went out as a hero of faith. All of them. Not once did they regretted it. Up to their last breathe, to them, it was worth it. They, like us, go through so much and in the end gave their lives for the gospel, and its incredible how they could keep on going and take it all in the end, and its becauss in the midst of all their storms, they have experienced so much of the boundless grace and love of God and in person with His son Jesus, that they could face all that is to come and take on this tumultuous mission and gave their lives for it. Jesus knew exactly who to choose for this. And its beautiful. I was told not everybody would be saved. And God wants to save as many as possible. Hence the delay in rapture. I am presuming. Its been 2000 years since Jesus died for our sins and beaten both sin and death, and has risen, giving us now a pathway to life, true life beyond this one in this fallen, life everlasting. Its been millenia, and God loves us all so much, that He does not want His children to perish and to give us eternal life and all we have to do is to accept His love. But yet the are still people who wouldn't take it. And hence God has tasked everyone of us now like the 12 apostles to go out there and spread the love, reach out and share the love so abundantly and genuinely good that which we have received, unconditionally, from our father in heaven, God, o Lord. This scene really speak alot of volumes to me. I got a strange feeling and chills down my spine, not fear, but a strange sense of excitement and peace knowing He is and He loves us, He cares and is for us, and He's coming and having been so gracious to us and blessed those of us to become a blessing for others to reach out to them and point them to the truth, the way and the light, as well as everlasting life, Jesus. Its alot. But wow. By the way i also find it haunting how it was John who asked that among all the disciples turned apostles chosen by Jesus Himself, the only who lived but exiled that asked that dreaded question and the rest in that room all would be martyred. Wow, just wow. This scene from the word was well done 👏. Good job Dallas and the Chosen team.

      The one who understands his simple teachings and commandments will understand that he has never been away from us…. As long as there is compassion in a single individual than it will not be too late for humanity. As Thomas wrote down in the words of Yeshua himself: The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you. Not in buildings of wood and stone… Split a piece of wood, lift up a rock, and you shall find it. Also did he stated: Seek and thy will find. Never once did he stated: Believe and you will be saved…. Anyone that is truthful to himself can understand this simple truth…

    I love how confused and fearful they are. A perfect performance of what probably happened.
    We need to remember that even the apostles doubted... until Jesus died and rose again. That they were the most confused they Jesus' words of dying, then rising again. This helps demonstrate their own uncertainty and confusing with Jesus' words.. but even if we do not understands God and the reasons for our experiences, he always had a plan for us.
    It took me till I was an adult to realize this was the apostles trial run for what is to come. That soon Jesus won't be here and it'll be by their faith that they go forward and preach, even as death is right around the corner.

    Now think of how boldly they preached and lived after the giving of the Spirit at Pentecost. They literally marched forward, preaching the Gospel for 30 years until their deaths, never changing their story. We may feel unqualified at times, but I have noticed that God gives grace when we need it. Trust in Christ and do what is right. That is our part in this. God will do the rest.

    This makes me think of what have I really given to God through my life, these men gave all. I’m 72, I believe I was a better Christian when I was younger, these last 15 years I have changed, I had more passion and I wanted to please God more I still do but, I let the cares of the world pull me down. Thank you to the creators of The Chosen for helping me begin to find my way back.

Thank you Chosen for reminding me to be humble, trust in our Lord & do His will. This scene is so powerful to me in so ways. Thank you again for opening my eyes & heart to The Lord 🙏🕊🙌💜🙏🕊🙌💜

    The perfect depiction of the beginning of Judas's path to darkness. It's long been a question why he was the treasurer, not Matthew...but we see Matthew's awareness of money being his own stumbling block...but Judas doesn't learn that lesson, himself.

    What a cool moment in the bible. It must've been quite the moment for the original 12 apostles to hear that Jesus chose them as their messengers. God bless all the people at the chosen for making this show.✝

    I find it interesting the scene has Jesus sending Z and Matthew to Jericho. Since Jericho is where Zaccheus the tax collector lives...perhaps this is set-up for a reveal that Matthew's testimony sowed the seeds for Zaccheus? Perhaps they knew each other in their mutual profession...?

    This is great. I've always thought that during that time it was all special and the apostles with Jesus must have been on another level. This scene portrays that Jesus was so humbly human just like all of us.. and the apostles were also just like each and everyone of us that have questions and fear. But God gives us strength and by faith could we do extraordinary things. Thank you for creating this great series for us all.

Instead, he emptied himself by taking on the form of a servant, by becoming like other humans, by having a human appearance. He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, death on a cross" [Philippians 2:6-11] ✝ ❤

    Did anybody notice the way in which he claims divinity in this scene? The same way he claims divinity in the bible, utterly beautiful piece of bible literature + screen writing. I’ve been witnessing to my Jehovah Witness family recently and showed them this to explain how the Jesus claims divinity without calling himself God.
    But would be hidden by JW/ Watchtower agenda.
    Beautiful.
    All Muslim/ Jehovahs Witnesses should see this
