- HAPPY EASTER FROM LALANDE EVERYONE!!! Here's Part 2 of our wonderful Easter Gift Special as we prepared for Easter Weekend at the chateau!!! We have been sent the most adorable bunnies, chicks and eggs, and I can't wait to share this Cadeaux at the Chateau with you - it's been one of my all time favourites...

In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. TH-cam earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:
July 2020:
British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634
August 2020:
Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350
September 2020:
Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1255
October 2020:
Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)
November & December 2020 & Jan & Feb 2021:
A Lalande Fashion Scholarship for a student at the Villioti Fashion Institute in South Africa €5500
March 2021:
Suffolk Artlink (amount to be confirmed at the beginning of April)
I used to show the gifts as part of 'The Chateau Diaries' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us, and that by monetising this channel for charity we can pass on that joy to others 💖💖💖

I got to see my parents today for the first time in over a year! We are all fully vaccinated!

My husband and I received our first two and a half hours north of our northern Michigan home. It was during a blizzard, Total white out, and was white knuckle driving.
I mentioned that it would be ironic if we lost our lives on the way to get vaccinated to save our lives.
All is well and now he thinks it’s hysterical and tells everyone.

These sicilian colomba are made in the town i live in!! World renowned Fiasconaro cakes have been eaten by popes, president's and even taken to the moon!! Their last year collaboration with dolce & gabbana was also beautiful sicilian colours

I always get a kick out of how, at the end of every Cadeau, Stephanie winds up decorated and accessorized like a Christmas tree lol! And she looks fabulous 😃!
Ok! I have an Austrian Host Daughter! We have had her in our lives for 26 years. We were so spoiled with Austrian Chocolate which we believe to be the BEST chocolate in the UNIVERSE! She lives with her three precious daughters just 20 miles from us. Her parents live in Linz, Austria. We call them our Austrian Family, and they call us their American family. Oma and Opa Prinz send us Austrian care packages all the time filled with these luscious treats. You guys are very fortunate! I have loved both Easter Cadeaux! How blessed you all are. Andi’s art is exquisite!

I love that with all these sweet shawls, fancy boxes, pens, teas, etc that people send (that in any normal size household would be quite a lot of flotsam), that every bedroom in the chateau can be far more furnished than an average B&B or hotel, with beautifully appointed desks and reading nooks and tea caddies. And not just the guest rooms that are rented, but every bedroom or apartment for friends, volunteers, eventually spare attic bedrooms, etc! When otherwise it would be such a monumental and expensive task to furnish so many bedrooms in such a homey fashion!
How did Isabelle stop from laughing and rolling her eyes at Stephanie growing up.? Stephanie must have made her smile everyday.

For next Easter go to the woods and find a gnarled tree limb and have Selma attach it to a wood base. You can then Decorate it with mini lights, your Easter ornaments and flowers. Perfect centerpiece for a table ❤️❤️❤️
Be careful covering the top of those amazing lampshades. Heat from a normal bulb has to escape up and out the hole. There might be a cooler temperature bulb that would be safe.

The particular shade of colour for your hair is really really good these past few months...... it grows out better too and feels more natural blonde. Maybe I lack the technical language, but whatever you are doing, keep doing it!

Colomba panettone is correct. There are a few variations but mostly the colomba is made at Easter. The other panettone flavours are for Christmas and the rest of the year. Enjoy! It is a beautiful family traditions.

All the gifts were amazing, but now I have seen the tiaras from Anders, I would like to learn how to make them. I make simple earrings and necklaces, but the tiaras look so beautiful, complex and magical. Such skill and imagination. The mouse and his accoutrements were stunning.
My mother worked for a handmade lampshade company for many years. She’s just noticed you will need shade carriers for your shades.
What are shade carriers?
@@ibosquez5238 They are a frame that has a small rind at the bottom that fits under the lightbulb. The top of the carrier has a larger formed ring that these type of shades slot into. Usually have three square bent metal forms with recesses to carry the shade frame.

i use a bare branch “tree” to hang easter eggs an such. philip’s idea of doing up a chandelier sounds awesome! perhaps a table underneath for the non hangables… 🦩🐇💐🦔
Stephanie you should go shopping for a large curio and display all your beautiful crowns and tiaras so people cold look at them when they visit Lalande. Just a thought. God bless all.
My mom use to have a Easter branch from a thorn branch she places behind drift wood. Gum drops were placed on the thorns and Easter decorations hanging from branches
I am Austrian and I use the Kurbis kern oil drizzled on pumpkin foam soups as well as bresaulo / arugula salad.
