Do not get carried away with peacock envy. Pretty but very loud and when they climb on your car roof it gets badly scratched and pooped on. Chateau de LaLande itself is wow bur it takes loads of people to restore and run. The scale is overwhelming. Nice to see our favorite influencer all dressed up!

The intensity of the music while you were lost in the woods was absolutely amazing. It reminded me of some of an Agatha Christie mystery. There was so much talent at the Château. You should consider creating a remake of a mystery movie. Philip- Producer, Ann -Setting, Stephanie- Lady of the Manner, Philip- handsome young man, Amari- debonair detective etc, etc. ( Just an 💡 )

Hey guys, lovely vid chez Stephanie and co. I prefer your chateau for sure. Anna has managed to update the interiors and keep them fresh and uncluttered -- doesn't feel old in the least. Anna, your color sense is really refined, and no, not too much green. Beautiful, calming, silvery, understated greens (and blues) offset by white . Colors that are very easy to live with without being horrid boring-beige. That bathroom with the hand-painted mural is exquisite. Love you guys, happy spring.

There is a whole hate community dedicated to slandering everything Stephanie does. Literally, no matter what she posts, there are people who turn it around. Heck, someone even complained in a whole video about her *handwriting* on their patron card. 😳
@@gizellabucknell I think jealousy is a huge part of it. Also, there are a lot of people who like to watch DIY. Stephanie does some of that but she films a lot of things of other things as well, history, music, costumes, animals, culture, food, dancing, and communal living. This irritates the people who only want to watch renovation projects.
I think Stephanie doesn't do a great job of explaining where her TH-cam/patreon/B&B/London flat/South African house/Southern France apartment income goes. Patreon being the most important as it's donations, and a very large income. There's obviously big projects being done, but also big projects seemingly unfinished. It's almost May, and we've seen almost nothing happening as far as renovating goes thus year. And just in patreon money she's received $120,000 or so. I definitely have sympathy for her. A degree of fame and basically free money is hard to deal with. I used to work in media and knew famous people. It can really screw you up if you're not prepared for it.

Phillips solitude in the forest took on a dramatic air when he found himself alone and then enjoying the unique beauty of the Nature he was in the middle of. Suppose you are strictly correct, but we are dealing with real people here, not characters in a soap opera on tv. There’s such a thing as common decency and ethical behaviour, and people who engage in online trolling of people are indicating a deficiency in both of these!

I watched a few of your recent videos and loved them so much I decide to go to the very beginning and watch all the episodes in order. No need for Chateau envy. Château Gonneville sur Honfleur is beautifully renovated, tastefully decorated and the creme de la creme French chateaus.

There is a whole hate community dedicated to slandering everything Stephanie does. Literally, no matter what she posts, there are people who turn it around. Heck, someone even complained in a whole video about her *handwriting* on their patron card. 😳
People are negative when they are jealous
@@gizellabucknell I think jealousy is a huge part of it. Also, there are a lot of people who like to watch DIY. Stephanie does some of that but she films a lot of things of other things as well, history, music, costumes, animals, culture, food, dancing, and communal living. This irritates the people who only want to watch renovation projects.
I think Stephanie doesn't do a great job of explaining where her TH-cam/patreon/B&B/London flat/South African house/Southern France apartment income goes. Patreon being the most important as it's donations, and a very large income. There's obviously big projects being done, but also big projects seemingly unfinished. It's almost May, and we've seen almost nothing happening as far as renovating goes thus year. And just in patreon money she's received $120,000 or so.
I definitely have sympathy for her. A degree of fame and basically free money is hard to deal with. I used to work in media and knew famous people. It can really screw you up if you're not prepared for it.

As an American bigger is not always better.....oh wait is that only Texas😮.It was so wonderful to see the family get away and such genuine host and good friends to visit but it’s oh so nice to get home to your most warm,comfortable and lovely Chateau.So enjoy every episode.😊

@@mae3337 Aah, Freedom of Speech - that is always the argument from those who feel they can say what they like on social media. Suppose you are strictly correct, but we are dealing with real people here, not characters in a soap opera on tv. When people start making hurtful and often vicious comments about a person’s character and even making serious accusations (without any personal knowledge of the person or situation), they need to be called out. There’s such a thing as common decency and ethical behaviour, and people who engage in online trolling of people are indicating a deficiency in both of these!

I love all the chateau's different designs and size, wonderful to see the style owners adopt in their restoration of these wonderful but neglected buildings. You have to be very brave and confident in your abilities to take one on not to mention the finances. I admire each and everyone of you

I am so sorry that you have to read the unkind words and comments regarding Stephanie. I can only hope that the kind words outweigh the unkind, I have been following Stephanie recently, started back at beginning and watched every one of her blogs and she truly does enjoy her guest and loves LaLand. You getting “lost” in the Woods was hilarious, especially when you said hit the light button to go right hit the subscribe button to go left, and I sincerely hope you did receive mini new subscribers. What a lovely couple you are and I want you to know I also enjoy your videos.

Im pretty new to Stephanies channel and just watched a couple of episodes but have been following your renovation almost from the beginning. She seems like a very charismatic and positive person. All though the château is grand I prefer yours and can’t wait to see you transform the gorgeous coachhouse one day.

You wouldn’t believe some of the toxic bile that is spewed about certain TH-camrs in the chateau renovation community. Lalande gets it the worst. Some of the comments I have read are surely legally defamatory. It’s a very sad state of affairs all too common on social media. 😣

@@Louisefenner I always wonder about 'those naysayers', surely it is easy enough to 'change the channel' and watch something you enjoy. Only a truly bitter person would keep on watching and 'hating' to try and bring others to their level. Hopefully one day they will wake up and see the beauty and inspiration the rest of us do. Yes they do seem to enjoy themselves but I do have a sneaking suspicion a certain couple are thinking so glad we did not bite off that much more than we can chew. Our taste and workmanship is just so much better than these Megalomaniacs who are beginning to look a bit the worse for wear as well? That beautiful CHAPEL still so neglected looking. O well to each his own.

I watched a few of your recent videos and loved them so much I decide to go to the very beginning and watch all the episodes in order. I can't tell you how much I enjoy them, they are so well made, I love your humour, the editing is top notch, I love the music. I am also learning.
