    Finally ! I find a guy out there with the Cheung Style Traditional SIL LIM TAO. With the correct half moon steps , no Michael Jackson X moves moonwalk opening like so many modified styles. I like the Fox Sau moves in between the 1st and 2cd part to the form! I think I'm going to add that to mine, out of respect to Sifu Bruce Corles. Bravo, I will train under you any day.

    Master Bruce spent 20 years training under Grand Master William Cheung, and got his gold sasha in 1990 and Master level in 1997, he learnt Wushu from World Wushu champion Liang Chang Xing. His daughter is an Australia Wushu champion. Pretty interesting to hear the comments on his technique from the "experts" below :)

    @sloppymantis was the first Sifu under Henry Leung. No, this isn't Fut Sao WC. This is the Wing Chun my present Sifu William Cheung teaches. It's called Traditional Wing Chun (TWC)

    Keep an open mind and do not limit your own training. The different circles have other uses. Try the normal form close range to a dummy and stance change appropriately. You will use high or low versions of bon and tan. With circling hand, using this version can be useful against the lower dummy arm (larger or harder target)

    Great idea the form can be change,some of the school also teach differently,we must explore on which siu nim tao suit your body

    @01984lockyer That circle that does is called a Lau Sao and it circles around the limb. You're thinking of a Huen Sao that moves the limb.

  • @wckwoon
    @wckwoon 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @sloppymantis It's refreshing to hear someone disagree and not get negative. I respect that. What he is doing is called a Lau Sau. He's exaggerating the movements for the demo. The circles should be as tight as possible. I've uploaded a clip named. Wing Chun Lau Sau to explain.

    I've just started WC and cant really judje, but I think this execution of form is exelent! I love it and will learn it. What routine would you recomend me to do at home those days when I have no class? I have a problem with that, I start doing this and that, but not in systematic way. Please, advise me on how to set ruotine of exercises I could do on my own. Thank you.

    @01984lockyer He's doing finger strikes. The way you're referring to is simply wrist training.

  • @sloppymantis
    @sloppymantis 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @wckwoon I prefer to call it my "house" or "family" kung fu or sometimes i call it Logic boxing.. but I stray away from names of it to maintain my openness to all of it. It helps my mind avoid "this is right this is wrong" and allows me to learn alot more I think. Arguing is for those who are "sure" I am flexible so always have beginners mind and do not plan to ever be "sure" :) I gravitate towards tips and tricks or concepts rather than "techniques". Thanks for being kind and chatting!

    @wckwoon Thanks for the response. I think it was cut off though? In anycase I have heard of this gentleman Cheung. I am curious what made him use such large movements and movements that seem to deviate from the principles that i have learned of wing chun boxing. I am not a wing chun boxer, but I do find it very enlightening system. When I see what appear to be different methods I always wish to ask and inquire abotu them. Clearly everyone has a good reason for the way they do things.

    @sloppymantis I did the WC you're doing for 13 years. Your form is good. I can see that you are dedicated. I just prefer the WC I do because it works best for me. Stay in touch my friend.

    The move y'all are talking about is called a large heun sau vs a smaller one which is just wrist rotations

    hey thanksfor uploading! this looks like a lovely place to practice! is this fut sau wing chun? they use similar huge huen sau and bring wu sau to face. anyway good journey brother!

    The big circle motion for going back into Wu potion before drawing back to chest hands length away..I am assuming that is merely a lineage add-on for breathing? which is good, just careful in application wise, as it would set you up for an big opening for us to get in too. Any WC we always want to make sure we keep our center line guarded and tight but relaxed. :D
    Good job at the *Siu Lim Tao form "Little Idea" (Not Sil Lim Tao, we all make those mistake, I did too).
    Amituofo! from Grandmasters WC (Yip/Wong Shun Leung/Ip Chung Lineage) keep the videos coming!

    Awesome ! I haven't seen this variation before. I have just started WC and have couple questions. I am meeting my sifu once a week and would like to train the rest of the week. as I see there are some m,any variations of the same form. Is there "classical", traditional form? I would appreciate if someone drop me a link (I am pretty sure there is some video). thank you!

    @wckwoon Fascinating. You are right people these days have same troubles as people 1000 years ago. Kung fu learners have no openness these days. It is a glitch not only in kung fu but many systems in life. It is because they dwell and cling etc.. but I prefer openness and look what it yielded. An open exchange between humans. I will go see this video thanks for your time!

    I have trained in this system... William Cheung (No title for him, since I do not respect him). This "advanced" SIL LIM TAO is nothing but some fancy work of Mr. Cheung William. I am so surprised that people still train in this system.

    You're not supposed to move your arm in such a big circle and then lunge it forward are you? Its meant to imitate the mechanics of a punch using the wrist isn't it? Basically the flick of the wrist, if you watch Ip Man do it.
