    You need the 9.5x5 coil on the Nox and use 7, 8 or higher recovery. My Nox beats the Deus hands down in high trash areas. It is all about coils and settings.
    Try using Field 2 or Park 2. And reduce sensitivity. You can’t get depth in trashy areas until the trash is out.
    I went over my garden with the Deus 1 and only found foil. The Nox found me a nice watch winder just 5 ft from my back door and part of a brooch and part of a piece of jewellery and several real relics. We are talking about an area of 30 sq yards done to death for nearly two years. Settings and coils critical.

    Lol reading these comments about $1,000+ machine.. for one this guy swings wayyyy to fast.. 2 LEARN TO USE IT CORRECTLY…Nox is not perfect by no means but deus, simplex .. c’mon guys… theres a reason more nox 800 get sold more than any other in same price range….
    Again learn how to operate your machine properly, DON’t half ass it then trash it because you don’t know how to use it… wish you the best of luck and keep dirt fishing 😜

    Swinging the coil like a madman might have a thing or two do with your problems. Trying to set land speed records swinging a coil as you show in everyone of your videos is not only counter productive it also looks dumb as heck. Go get you a Bounty Hunter if you are going to detect like that. It will spank your almighty Deus I'm sure.

    I've been with the 800 for about a year now and am starting to come to terms with it. After all the tons of crap I've dug Ive found plenty of gold and silver and about 20 lbs of clad to run through the coin star. I've started playing with the advanced settings and its starting to pay off with less crap and more of the good stuff. Especially happy with going through old ground and finding more stuff only deeper. I've wanted to wrap it around a tree more times than not but I think we are finally coming to terms.

    I’ve owned Deus since 2014 with standard 9” coil. Jus tc love it.
    I’ve had the equinox about a year now.
    It’s a great detector, amazing at the beach and very calm Melo tones and hard to beat multi frequently ID.
    I still prefer my Deus For most sights.
    Deus is like a razor blade with separation
    Equinox is more like a paintbrush that can smear targets together.
    I feel your pain man, it’s nice to have a “quiver” of detectors and I think Deus and equinox belongs in most quivers.

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I very much like your analogy here. Every detector has it's moments it shines and other moments it can bring frustrations. It just takes time to learn which detector to use for certain conditions. There will probably(PROBABLY) never be the day that 1 detector will replace my "quiver" of detectors. I would love to eat my words here but it is just not the reality, with so many factors and different conditions we face as treasure hunters.

    • @oldplucker1
      @oldplucker1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You must have the wrong recovery speed on the Nox or something badly wrong, my tests with the Nox with the 9.5x5 coil is like a razor blade and the Deus 1 is like a blunt knife with the same size coil. The Nox beats the Deus hands down. My soil is full of iron and most difficult. I am a tech guy and your Nox settings and coil are most certainly wrong. Wrong mode, wrong frequency and wrong recovery I expect My tests are conclusive and I found a nice little watch winder with the Nox. The Deus had covered the same ground first. The Nox found 7 artefacts the Deus none. The Deus is still a great machine but many factors come into play. It is knowing how to use the machines in different scenarios.

    I'm on ancient farm land in the UK with centuries of plough iron in the ground. Personally I don't use iron bias but rather listen to everything and let my ears do the work. Got to say I'm very successful with my nox 800 and standard coil. Give your ears the chance to sift through those tones.

    I had vanquish 540, had same problems,it seemed to only do well in clean ground. So I went back to the Eurotek pro with Mars tiger coil 10" by 15" my finds were decent again. Eurotek also has very fast recovery speed. No ground balance or frequency shift,,but you can still lower sensitivity to 7 and quiet it down around the EMI and still get a reliable 8" depth. It's a very underrated detector. Planning on the simplex,,its seems trusty. I enjoy you're commentary,thanks for posting these videos.

      @@wangchung_8541 I really like deaus 2. It is a little better at separating in really high trash areas vs the nox. Especially iron trash. Deus doesnt false on iron nearly as much as the nox. I prefer the nox for deeper targets still though. I plan to keep both units and hit most areas with both machines. If I could only have one detector I would still choose the nox though.

    exactly why i sold my 800. tweaked myself right into selling it. I could NOT get the Equinox Tones to work for me. I had no idea if I was digging junk or something good. Then I bought a Deus. that was it for me. There is nothing like sliding scale tones. Then I bought a 600 NOX, Much cheaper, same performance in multi(uses all 5 freqs), cannot tweak myself into cursing, perfect for my water hunts, not so trashy parks and back up machine. I use a 10 x 5 Coil Tek Coil, and it does a good job in the trash. But I sure do dig 10X more trash with the NOX than the Deus. Can't get away from that. Dug a '49 Silver quarter the other day. 7" below the ground. 9"HF round knocked it out. Solid 93 on the HID. Another great Jeremy Video. Well Done.

    I’ve had my Nox 800 for three weeks and I have to say, for something that cost me over $1200, I am highly dissatisfied with it, the headphones, and the Pro Find 35. All three products do not work properly and for that kind of money I should not have these issues this early in the ownership. I should have gotten something different. It has completely turned me off of metal detecting. I’m not spending a ton of money on another detector for fear of more bad products. Minelab has failed and I won’t recommend their products.

      I have done the same thing on many machines in the past also. The Nox really does take some getting used to. I have 1000 hours on the 800 and still really do not like the tones it delivers. I do think the Equinox is still probably one of the top 3 all around machines out there. The more I use the Equinox.....the more I like the Deus. The Deus takes many more years experience and more patience to learn than the Nox. It is mostly a tonal preference with any machine.

      Sorry you had a bad time…with all three. My experience was not that at all. My Equinox, while it took some time to learn, has been a great detector on beach and land. I use a pair of generic wireless headphones that have paired with no problems. The ProFind 35 is a little finicky at times but usually settles down when I decrease the sensitivity. I think the time to learn the Equinox adequately is greater than many machines. I think most folks spend too much time early on leaving the default settings. It takes a lot of experience to understand when you need to alter the settings for a particular site.

    I have been using a Garrett At Gold for years and thought it was a great detector. Then I kept hearing about how great the Minelab detectors are, so then I decided to get a lower end Minelab in the Vanquish 540 thinking it was going to be less chattery better separation etc. and let me tell you I've been struggling with it so much. I'm pretty much having the same problem as you with your 800 nox trying to get it dialed in and also pinpointing is not as good as with my AT Gold. I guess Garrett detectors are not as bad as many people say they are.

    I want to just clarify the obvious rival between the deus and the nox. Simple, If you are a fast paced dig it all to clear the trash kinda guy that really relies on the audible feel of the ground you are digging in. DEUS. If you are a methodically move around picking and choosing what you want to dig based on numbers your detector generates for you kinda guy. NOX. They will both find the same targets with different styles. My dad uses the nox and I use the deus we hunt together. I know the nox is a deeper machine out of the box turn it on and go. The deus requires more time invested to learn it but I really enjoy the way the deus connects your natural senses to detecting. Its a special experience.

I recently greduated from a Whites Coinmaster GT, which I still like, to a 800. I still have no idea what I have. I turn on and go. I know my GT well and that and location is all you need. Knowing your machine allows you to adapt. I turn on the 800 and other than pinpoint make sure it is on park and go and kick a$$. Didn't know what I was missing. It is dimensional and complex and is going to take a while to learn but little steps for little people wins the day.

      The deeper coins with any machine will give an ifffy tone. When you first are learning any machine, go for the shallow evident targets. Once you get more experience with that machine, your ears will be trained to go for the deeper coin sized targets. If you swing over a 7" deep silver coin with the Nox 11" coil it should give you at least some kind of response. The key to getting deeper coins with any machine is to swing slow and dig all of the iffys. Sure you may dig many nails but you will eventually get onto some silver and some wheaties. The best and fastest ways to find silvers are old curb strips with lots of roots, EMI and hard soils, and back yard permissions. If you ask 20 people to detect their yard and you get 1 yes, that 1 permission could bring several silver coins and probably some jewelry. Old parks that have had many events over the years are good spots too. If you are hunting parks that have beat up by other detectorists there is probably an iffy tone that is a silver waiting for you to swing over it. Dig up the iffys man!! Good luck and happy hunting Will.

  • @jcqpublic
    @jcqpublic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In my humble opinion, you may not be 'listening' to your equinox. Nails are an issue, but they are an issue with any detector. If you are positive your Deus discriminates nails out more effectively, you may be right. But you may be discriminating out 'iffy' silver signals, too.

    As fast as you swing, aren't you worried about breaking the coil tabs off the nox?

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually I think the Nox has been a very durable machine for me. I have never swung a Nox with the stock shaft and I have not swung the 11" coil around much. That 6" coil on the Telenox shaft is super lightweight and durable. I do worry about breaking the 11" coil ears because it pits a lot of strain on the shaft and ears. I have been swinging the 11" coil about 25 hours this last month and am liking it much more than the 6" in the trash and iron. I think the 6" coil was just a flop. I am very excited to get the 5x10 Coiltek soon. I have had the 5x10 on backorder for over 4 months.

    • @lowracer1
      @lowracer1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PaystreakSuperfreak you are probably safe then. I know people who have broken the coil tabs on the stock 11" coil. I'm not sure if you still have your anfibio or not but I found a nice combination for target separation and better recovery speed. The kr24 9.5x5 coil in 3 tone. Usually run it at 95 gain. Good depth in iron even at 20khz. Switching to 14khz back the gain to 89. Swinging fast and it picks up everything under the coil. However as you know, the anfibio is a little heavier to swing fast but the smaller coil does make it easier. I believe they make a similar double d design for the simplex as well. Sp24 maybe? You could probably swing that combo at lightning speed.

XP make superb MDs, end of, in my op...Gary B has covered it extensively over here in U.K. I can only watch so many Deus vids!..I'm looking forward to you testing the new NM SMF and the XPD2. Dude, you’ll never master the nox. I brought the 800, sold it ,and then I bought the 600 to give it another chance and sold that one. Pinpointing with it is almost impossible with out using the pinpoint button, And if your planing to use the Bluetooth head phones, it’s even worse .It is the most over rated pos detector. It does pretty good on silver but with the gold and low tones it sucks. I’d rather use my At Pro. Every time I took the nox out I always have to take a back up detector because it drove me crazy. Over rated!

      If you are having good results with your Nox.. keep it. The market is saturated with Noxes right now, If you tried to sell it right now it would take a while to sell. If you keep it until after these new machines come out it will be worth less. I have seen many lightly used noxes with 2 coils coils not selling for months for $800. In 6 months they will be worth $600. These new machines that are coming soon may be flops.

    Jeremy damn bro you said exactly what i have been wanting to say about the Nox since ive owned it twice!! I am afraid of getting the heat from Nox fan boys since my channel is small and losing subscribers would hurt me more but I must say I too struggle to isolate good targets with this machine.. the bub-ba-buh-bip back and forth is frickin annoying like it wont isolate targets clean! VDI numbers can bounce inconsistently and the tones sounding dirty and super blippy gives me a headache and i just DON'T FIND AS MUCH GOOD STUFF as i used to with my X-terra 705 gold pack! The 18.75khz Smacked small jewelry and had better stability for how and where i hunt.. It almost seems like the equinox is made for that guy that likes to play with the detector more than digging targets. I think you could use its settings to single out the targets, but who wants to stand there adjusting forever. Most of us, just want to hit a target and dig. I wouldn't call it trash talking, i would say it is just not doing what you like a detector to do.

      I do believe the 11" coil performs much better in the trash than the 6" coil. But the Deus spanks the ass off the Equinox in trash and iron. Yes the Nox will go deeper and will have better tones on the deeper targets than the Deus. The Nox 11" coil makes the detector very awkward to swing fast and spank shallow targets out fast. I am very excited about the Coiltek 5x10 coil that I will be getting soon. I think that 5X10 will be the perfect coil for my needs.

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak

      The Equinox is a machine that works the best with a slow swing. I absolutely slaughtered a tot lot in gold field2 in 40 khz last night. I missed a lot of jewelry there with the Deus. I swung slow with the Nox and got 9 pieces of jewelry in 2 hours from a very small tot lot. The Simplex is by far the best 250 bucks someone can spend in this hobby. Multi frequency machines are the way to go in some spots.

  • @joegarwood8089
    @joegarwood8089 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    the truth about depth....how many times is that coin at max depth? You sacrifice accuracy for depth adjustment on every machine. Most of the coins u find are mid level and the accuracy is there. Then you get same tone...but deeper and skipping....you think you have a great target.,...and u dig molten aluminum.
