Haven't thought of trying cotton balls for a happy medium until just now. Achieving zero light points has proven more difficult than it sounds. I think I read that even if one wears a sleep mask, the skin can still be stimulated by very small amounts of light. Other best practices might be to shower before bed, frequently launder sheets in fragrance free detergent, and to sleep as far away as possible from all electrical devices, including outlets and wires?
