I think the reason Obito was so shocked/scared when Kabuto summoned Madara in front of him, is because he hadn't revealed his identity to Kabuto yet, and Kabuto had basically learned that Obito wasn't Madara by way of actually summoning Madara. He even goes as far as to say "Don't worry, I haven't told anyone yet." to ease Obito's nerves.
Yeah. Obito spent a long time covering his identity and BAM, some random guy figured it out and brought his boss right there. Who knows how much more info kabuto has
Kabuto is a genius. Like he’s beyond Kage level in terms of IQ. There’s maybe 10 ppl in the show we can say are smarter than him. Maybe. He just wasn’t strong and he had emotional baggage he couldn’t escape from.
Not to mention, Obito is the only one who _would_ know where Madara is. He likely hid Madara's body pretty well and was surprised someone found it. Turns out, Black Zetsu went "Fuck that" and then led Kabuto to Madara's corpse.

That’s because Madara already knew Obito didn’t know the weakness to juubi form which was sage mode, so Madara was already step ahead. This is proven as Obito can’t believe the juubi form has such a weakness when he gets caught off guard by Naruto and Tobirama
Madara's confidence was due to Black Zetsu ambushing Obito like Madara got ambushed by Black Zetsu at the end, not due to anything Madara can do himself.
I always interpereted the Obito seeing Madara thing as Obito being worried because his cover was blown. He was still pretending to be Madara at that point, even to Kabuto.
The fandom sleeps too much on Obito. Even if he doesn't have the same raw power as Madara, even if he loses, this fight would be insane as fuck. Even if Madara wins, he would probably lose some limbs or end up fatally injured for life. People tend to see Obito as this "brutish" dude when it comes to fight, based on his fight with Kakashi where Obito attacks in a aggressive "less-strategizing" way, when in truth, this man is one hell of a genius. People seem to forget kakashi at that point was enhanced by 9 tails chakra, and how skillfully kakashi was at that point of story, he was matching kcm 2 minato speed, aswell as obito was dominating the entire fight

Obito is both one of the coolest and most OP characters in Naruto. New manga centered around him would be epic. His voice, demeanor, fighting and storytelling capabilities would make him a prime candidate. He’s just too cold, easily my favorite character. Shippuden is literally driven by his actions alone. Every scene with his orange mask is absolute gold

Juubito's inability to use Kamui feels even more like a plot nerf when you remember that Juubi Madara was able to use the other Kamui eye that he stole from Kakashi seconds ago just fine in order to chase Obito into the Kamui dimension. You can hand-wave it by saying that it was a "more complete six paths mode" but I really just think it's Madara privilege at that point, and feels inconsistent.
Clearly stated he cannot pass through objects. Not he cannot use kamui. It’s definitely an ass pull to nerf him but he can still teleport to the dimension like madara did but he can’t use it to phase through objects like he usually does.

He can use Shinra tensei or summon the Gedo statue to deal with the clones.

I’m glad that y’all did a video about my favorite character in Naruto, Obito. Every time I tell anyone that my favorite character in Naruto is Obito they always say something like “What, why is he your favorite?”. And I just tell them that I like him because for the most part he stood by what he believed in and yeah, he wavered from time to time on his beliefs but he still tried to do what he had to do. And on top of that (in my opinion) every single time that Obito was on screen he had the best, coolest, and most bad ass scenes. Like almost every single one of his scenes(again in my opinion) was bad ass! From him being Tobi and trolling Kakashi and his team, him getting burned with Amaterasu and then all of a sudden it’s just gone and he has no damage, him declaring war on the ninja world, to him being the one giving Pain orders. Oh, and don’t let me forget him trolling Deidara, and also when Kisame was about to leave the Akatsuki but Kisame learned who Obito really was and decided to stay on that and that alone and then called Obito the true Mizukage. And speaking of Mizukage, Obito literally if I’m not mistaken started one of the most ruthless periods in the Hidden Mist. He used genjutsu on Yagura for years! Not days, weeks, or months but years and made Yagura one of the harshest Kage in Naruto with his genjutsu creating the Blood Mist. Obito did that lol. But that’s only some of the reasons why he’s my favorite character in Naruto.

ill put it this way, this is an obito with his one eye. Imagine if obito had both his eyes, he would have both defensive and offensive range one shot abilities. He would be unhittable and then can pop out of nowhere and kamui your head off. Not to mention with both eyes, his kamui would be faster so he would be even stronger, when both eyes together they become stronger and complement each other. He would also have susano, and we saw when he gave his chakra to kakashi, kakashi had one of the strongest susanos in the verse. Obito already has hashirama cells and uchiha blood so he would have sage of 6 paths amped susano on top of both kamuis. We saw how strong kakashi was with just temporary borrowed power and he isnt even uchiha and he has no prior experience using susano or obitos other eye. I dont know why obito never decided to get his other eye back from kakashi, he easily could have several times, he showed he could invade the leaf and get in contact with kakashi, he met kakashi several times, nothing was stopping him from snatching the eye at any part of the show. Maybe he thought he was already strong enough. And to be fair obtio never ended up losing, he only ended up "losing" once he became the jinjuriki and gave up basically due to talk no jutsu.
Nope, because the reason he had Hashirama cells is precisely because he loses one eye in battle. So he either has both eyes without the cells (in which case, he would've gone blind a long time ago), or he's in the status we know, in which case we can't take both eyes, Hashirama cells into consideration.

Nothing anyone could do about it. When kakashi was passed out after killing rin, obito could also have taken the eye. He just willingly chose not to during the show.

Let me tell you how nerfed Obito is: A 14 yo went up against arguably a top5 shinobi of all time, had his chance and almost sucked him up and admitted that he wasn’t taking it seriously while Minato was out for a kill Has one of the strongest genjutsu, barely ever uses it Drops his tools (chains and fan) for almost entirety of the show Almost never uses wood style Most importantly, has always had the ability to take his second Sharingan from Kakashi but never did, which also means he never got his Susanoo And lastly, when he turns into Juubito, he can no longer use Kamui but somehow Madara can Put aside that after everything Obito went through in the war arc he was reacting to Kaguya and was one of the main reasons they were able to win Obito is just constantly nerfed because he’s be unstoppable DMS Obito is the strongest character in the Narutoverse

Nah Madara was only using the chakra rods to try to control Obito he wasn’t using black zetsu at that point, that was later. Also, the fact that Obito was struggling to not have his body blow up cause of the ten tails while Madara easily controlled and stabilized it when he had just been revived and only had one rinnegan should tell you enough.

I think Obito reacting the way he did to Kabuto showing him Madara was more of his surprise that Kabuto figured it out. Remember at this point everyone still thinks Tobi is Madara, and even the Kage are convinced he is Madara. Kabuto pulls out Madara when Tobi asks what if he says no to Kabuto's proposed alliance, as a "back-up plan". This insinuates that Kabuto either A) believes that an edo-tensei Madara could in-fact beat Tobi/Obito or B) determines even if the reanimated Madara could not beat Tobi, it would confirm that Tobi is not Madara to the world. Kabuto even goes as far to ensure him that he hasn't told anyone that Tobi is NOT Madara. Tobito also lays a condition for the alliance that Kabuto can't have Sauske until after the war, if he was truly afraid of Madara would he really lay down a condition that hinders Kabuto's main motivation to allying with Tobi? In the scene he's genuinely angry with Kabuto for this and is even seen looking back at the coffin when Kabuto recalls the jutsu to make sure it closes. Later when Naruto confronts Tobi after Madara is reanimated, he seems more annoyed and frustrated with that knowledge than fearful and worried. I think you guys are right that he was more concerned with Madara becoming 10-tails jinshuriki than actually being afraid of Madara's battle power.
Karma is so much more busted its not even funny. A genin with Kamui is like a jonin lvl but with Karma you can instantly drop most of the war arc alone.
To be honest kamui is so broken it doesn’t even make sense I don’t know what kishimoto was thinking. Your pretty much immune to 99% of things in the verse with it and the only counters to it we have seen so far are another kamui , six paths, and flying raijin and even then they could barely stop him it.
Exactly. People very much underestimate Obito. Two of his biggest fights in the show are against two people who were apart of his old squad team and had the ONLY known two counters to his Kamui ability, and that is another Kamui, and instant teleportation. And the part with Obito being “shocked” by reanimated Madara in my honest opinion was more of jab from Kabuto letting him know he knows his true identity is not Madara at all and less about Obito not being confident to hold his own. Then again it’s basic logic that Obito can’t handle Madara, Itachi and other reanimated members, PLUS Kabuto himself. Kishimoto ruined Obitos scaling allowing Madara to keep some abilities but had to nerf Obito once he became a juubi cause he wouldn’t of lost and most know that’s true. And if we’re talking hypotheticals, Obito simply having that second Sharingan would’ve been very dangerous for every character in the series. This should be more about putting more respect on Obito than trying to degrade how powerful Madara is.

Bruh juubito was not nerf. The ten tails was inside him that is why he could not used kamui. Remember kamui send part of himself to a different dimension. Not anything else. Kakashi was also still in the dimension. And if you wanna say madara used it. Madara use kakashi eye the long distance kamui. Which he has to make a big enough hole to fit his body into it without severing his limbs.
Think of the story in this way - Obito wasn't nerfed. Instead Obito's character was created to show utter depression that can happen to someone. Kishimoto decided his fate to be sooooo bad that he never got "Hokage Funeral" theme song played for him in the background. The fact it got played for Madara when he died but not even once for Obito ...when in reality Obito's desire to become Hokage was greater than Madara. (Infact Madara never even wanted to become a hokage) Moreover Obito's theme song Niji by Shinku Horou is not that famous ....it was deliberately put as the ending song cuz you know endings songs are skipped more than openings in general. I mean to say Obito's character was purely made for two things. One - Utter loneliness and disparity. That no one will remember him and he will be forgotten. Two - Respect (thay he gained in eyes of Naruto in the end) Fun fact : Obito literally translates to "A respectable person"
One thing I might not have heard being mentioned or wasn't mentioned at all is the fact that a Sharingan user can see the chakra building up in the eye to use ocular abilities. This would in turn allow Madara to see when Obito is going to use Kamui, and can very easily use this to apply pressure to Obito. I just wanted to add more information to the debate.
That's why Kakashi could see it the whole time behind his mask and didn't have to figure out by attacking him during the war arc right? Makes little difference even if that was true if Madara had anything capable of pure concentrated destruction for 5 minutes. Chibaku tensei/meteorites wouldn't be close to enough and I doubt a big ol forest would do it either.
I could see a scenario where edo Madara uses his 25 wood clones to try to run out the 5 minute timer on kamui by constantly attacking Obito from all angles. It just goes to show how busted Kamui is when even someone like Madara could have trouble with it.
I think it literally has to be 5 minutes straight though, without even a fraction of a second's pause. Which is why Konan went so over the top with her method, as it's probably the only way to actually counter the 5 minute thingy.

One thing I'd like to point out that happened, at least as far as the anime goes: when Obito took the tailed beast chakra from OR6P Madara, he was attacked at close range and could still out speed him with intangibility. Even Madara was perplexed by it. It was only that teleportation takes a bit longer than intangibility, hence Madara was able to react to that in time. I'm not aware if this is canon to the manga

firstly, white mask obito can definetly see it with his rinnegan, madara states that he should use limbo, but then decides not to because obito also had the rinnegan
I think Edo Madara has an interesting advantage that wasn't discussed here: specifically, he won't run out of stamina, so he actually can just attack constantly until Obito fucks up. Also, even if he's sucked into Kamui, he won't die. If he never dies in Kamui, Obito can never use Kamui safely for the rest of his life without risking Madara attacking the part that's in there or attacking Obito if he ever enters the Kamui dimension. Does Obito have sealing jutsu to put down an Edo Tensei without Kamui? No idea. But I know that Kamui isn't quite a win there.

Since the material given to us in the games are canon, then in Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution we cna see Madara using his Mangekyou ability. His ability is he can reverse time without anyone knowing.

Obito and Madara were always put on a same level in the War Arc before either one became a Jinchurkii so I'm suprised this topic wasn't discussed earlier already
That couldn’t be farther from the truth. Madara took out a clone of naruto in tailed beast mode with just his gunbai and also put pressure on B and Guy to the point of exhaustion. Obito wasn’t able to do that.
Madara and Obito were not on the same lvl at all. Madara singlehandedly stopped Naruto's momentum, mowed down an entire division without breaking a sweat, and made sport of the Gokage. Pre-Juubi Obito doesn't have any feats that put him in the same sentence as Madara.
I think it's possible that Madara could figure out that Kamui has a time limit, and since Madara has IMMENSE chakra reserves he could put out a sustained assault for 5 minutes and force Obito to run the clock on his kamui and then kill him.

I like to think of Obito as that guy who just uses one move and is to lazy to use any of the other moves he has in his arsenal. The guy had all of pains abilities yet never used them, his woodstyle is incredible underrate(He killed like half the shinobi force with just woodstyle) and his fire style is in par with Madaras.
Not in character , his entire character is made from his abilities and his stamina being gifted to him , or him stealing them later on . A weak character development from my perspective , Madara is written way , way better .
I think the reason Obito lost composure when Kabuto summoned Madara is alot more simple. I think he was just genuinely surprised Kabuto was able to locate Madara's body and resurrect him. I really think that's all there is to it and wouldn't try to read much more into it.

I think a fun video idea is creating a “perfect” Shinobi based off of attributes that different ninja have. Kind of like an amalgam ninja. Chakra pool/chakra nature(s)/keikei genkai/unique jutsu/speed/IQ/maybe a sage mode? Idk if it’s a reasonable video or not but I think it’d be cool to watch build-a-bear-ninja
I think that when an eye is transplanted, the body rejects it if it isn't in a pair. E.g. kakashi got worn out easily from using 1 sharingan despite presumably having a better chakra supply than most average Uchiha that could use the sharingan. Another example being if I remember correctly Obito struggled with his 1 rinnegan and it wore him out quicker too. When he had his dms, it's like there's just an added multiplier when you have a pair
madara is my favorite character. but i was literally thinking last night that double ms obito is like so damn strong, he doesn't lose at all if he kept his eye.
Obito has absolutely insane durability, evasiveness, (i.e. intangibility)/kamuii, determination, and just pure grit. He should have died at least half a dozen times and kept pushing, even when he got halfway crushed by the boulder he stayed conscious and oriented so much better than others would have. Plain and simple if he had both his sharingan he'd be borderline unstoppable, they had to plot that away from him. He, in my opinion, is the hardest to take out character (non-six paths) in all of Shippuden. And he's probably my favorite character if not at least in my top 3 favorites, and a lot of it is because of his raw toughness to keep going despite having one arm, and a giant hole in his chest for god's sake lol
Dont forget the Izanagi he could use thanks to his few dozen spare Sharingan from the coup. Combine that with Kamui and its overkill. He could basically just use Izanagi, kamui to his hideout, get a new eye and come back in a matter of minutes. The guy has like 50 revives xD

A impressive feet that sort of puts him in the Madara ball park range is the fact that he made a fire style Justu on par with his, which required a whole platoon of water ninja to counter it. Also Obito could of combined it with Kamui to make it even larger. People think he combined it with Kmaui and thaywhy it was so big, but in the panel we never see the trade mark Kamui swirl pattern.

I do believe that 1v1.Obito could defeat Kakashi, Itachi, probably as an adult with the rinnegan I'd guess it could clap up Minato. I'm not saying that the story would be written like that though, I'm just saying that Obito isn't helplessly no match for these characters. If you swapped Sasuke with Obito when he fought Itachi Obito easily takes it, mostly because of Itachi being sick and dying. Also if 1/2 paths of pain could kill Kakashi there's no way Ohio couldn't. It's important to remember thR based on feats Obito is comparable in speed, AP, and skill to fight toe to toe with KCM 2 Naruto who's faster than the Raikagr. I definitely agree that there's some wiggle room for these match ups and you could make a good case for either one of them. So I don't entirely disagree I suppose.
Hilarious that 10Madara could use Kakashi's eye to go into Kamui but Obito couldn't. Goes to show how busted they all got towards the end; however, I do believe that lesser versions of Madara could just spam wood style long enough to run out the Kamui timer.
Even the Otsutsuki and Sasuke's space time techniques are inferior to Kamui, since they can't make the user intangible and require creating a portal directly in front of them in order to teleport, while Kamui just automatically sucks Obito or his target into Kamui's dimension without all the extra steps the others need. The only one I'd say is on the same level is Kaguya's which allows her to switch between dimensions instantly, and while she is shown needing to create portals to move between different parts in the same dimension she is able to create small ones that she can simply reach through to pull others through.

What’s crazy is that Madara’s power was highly in part due to Rinnegan’s while Obito’s Mangekyo’s which never turned to Rinnegan’s were on par if not way stronger than Madara’s Rinnegan abilities were.
Madara’s power was not due to the rinnegan, he was just that strong. He was a warrior from a different era who was molded into having immense strength, skill, and precision by constant combat and war. Madara was insanely strong that’s why he was the second person to ever unlock the rinnegan, it’s not the other way around. Madara with both rinnegan was able to end the world within 24 hours of being revived while Obito with his kamui had to spend two decades assembling the Akatsuki and struggled to capture the tailed beasts. Obito couldn’t handle controlling 7 tailed beasts and defeating Naruto while Madara KILLED Naruto and bitched all 9 tailed beasts at once. There’s a huge difference in power between Madara’s rinnegan and Obito’s kamui and in their individual strength as well. It’s not even close.

This video really puts it into perspective how insanely broken Kamui is. It's teleportation, one shot, and intangibility all in one and it's extremely spammable as well. Obito literally only had half the jutsu and it single handedly made him more powerful than Madara.

Video request: I'd love to see some analysis (or a versus battle) for Kisame, mostly because I feel like the show does him *really* dirty causing people to sleep on him somewhat. As far as I know, he only has 3 relevant fights: - his 30% clone fights team Guy, forcing Guy into using 6 gates. The reason this is unfair is that Guy's pure taijutsu is one of the hardest possible counters to Kisame's chakra absorbtion style of fighting. - He fights Bee, who at this point is one of the strongest active people in the series, and seems to be absolutely demolishing him until his weapon betrays him and starts helping the enemy. - His final fight is against Guy again, facing his hard-counter once more, this time without Samehada at all, and he now forces out the 7th gate before going down while he still manages to pass on his intel which was his main objective in this fight. I could be wrong about the fights, it's been a while since I watched the show. I just remember thinking that Kisame got done dirty and should be way stronger than he was shown to be in those fights. 1. His 30% clone didn't really force Guy to open the 6th gate because he was strong he forced him to open the 6th gate because Guy's Students were in trouble and he needed to end the fight quickly 2. "The reason this is unfair is that" is what you said about Kisame's fight with Guy the same applies for Bee he is facing his direct counter Bee in fact blitzed and one shot Kisame the only reason he survived was due to absorbing Bee's Chakra 3. Guy only used the 7th gate because this Kisame was amped by Killer B's Chakra

Even the Samehada betrayal was an act, at first. But then Samehada started enjoying too much Bee's chakra and actually betrayed Kisame.

I also agree that they would most likely stall eachother out in most cases except SO6P Madara vs most forms of Obito besides DMS. It may be a hot take, but I think a DMS Obito with Six Paths chakra actually has a pretty good chance vs SO6P Madara. Also question in regards to limbo for Swag and Six, would Obito with Rinnegan be able to see Limbo or does it need to be a Six Paths enhanced Rinnegan? If you think he is able to see it, he would just be able to Kamui through them I would think. Would he hypothetically be able to just warp them off the battlefield?

I think the reason Obito was so shocked/scared when Kabuto summoned Madara in front of him, is because he hadn't revealed his identity to Kabuto yet, and Kabuto had basically learned that Obito wasn't Madara by way of actually summoning Madara. He even goes as far as to say "Don't worry, I haven't told anyone yet." to ease Obito's nerves.

Juubito's inability to use Kamui feels even more like a plot nerf when you remember that Juubi Madara was able to use the other Kamui eye that he stole from Kakashi seconds ago just fine in order to chase Obito into the Kamui dimension. You can hand-wave it by saying that it was a "more complete six paths mode" but I really just think it's Madara privilege at that point, and feels inconsistent.
Kishimoto tried everything to get Madara going while also trying to nerf Obito hard. It's clear he knew that Obito annihilates Madara.

Obito would just be REALLY annoying to take out, Madara can just use wood clones to mess with Obito and he wouldn’t have the AP or jutsu to take them all out which is why Rinnegan obito is a way better match and has a good chance of victory. He can use Shinra tensei or summon the Gedo statue to deal with the clones.

I’m glad that y’all did a video about my favorite character in Naruto, Obito. Every time I tell anyone that my favorite character in Naruto is Obito they always say something like “What, why is he your favorite?”. And I just tell them that I like him because for the most part he stood by what he believed in and yeah, he wavered from time to time on his beliefs but he still tried to do what he had to do. And on top of that (in my opinion) every single time that Obito was on screen he had the best, coolest, and most bad ass scenes. Like almost every single one of his scenes(again in my opinion) was bad ass! From him being Tobi and trolling Kakashi and his team, him getting burned with Amaterasu and then all of a sudden it’s just gone and he has no damage, him declaring war on the ninja world, to him being the one giving Pain orders. Oh, and don’t let me forget him trolling Deidara, and also when Kisame was about to leave the Akatsuki but Kisame learned who Obito really was and decided to stay on that and that alone and then called Obito the true Mizukage. And speaking of Mizukage, Obito literally if I’m not mistaken started one of the most ruthless periods in the Hidden Mist. He used genjutsu on Yagura for years! Not days, weeks, or months but years and made Yagura one of the harshest Kage in Naruto with his genjutsu creating the Blood Mist. Obito did that lol. But that’s only some of the reasons why he’s my favorite character in Naruto.

ill put it this way, this is an obito with his one eye. Imagine if obito had both his eyes, he would have both defensive and offensive range one shot abilities. He would be unhittable and then can pop out of nowhere and kamui your head off. Not to mention with both eyes, his kamui would be faster so he would be even stronger, when both eyes together they become stronger and complement each other. He would also have susano, and we saw when he gave his chakra to kakashi, kakashi had one of the strongest susanos in the verse. Obito already has hashirama cells and uchiha blood so he would have sage of 6 paths amped susano on top of both kamuis. We saw how strong kakashi was with just temporary borrowed power and he isnt even uchiha and he has no prior experience using susano or obitos other eye.
I dont know why obito never decided to get his other eye back from kakashi, he easily could have several times, he showed he could invade the leaf and get in contact with kakashi, he met kakashi several times, nothing was stopping him from snatching the eye at any part of the show. Maybe he thought he was already strong enough. And to be fair obtio never ended up losing, he only ended up "losing" once he became the jinjuriki and gave up basically due to talk no jutsu.
Nope, because the reason he had Hashirama cells is precisely because he loses one eye in battle. So he either has both eyes without the cells (in which case, he would've gone blind a long time ago), or he's in the status we know, in which case we can't take both eyes, Hashirama cells into consideration.

Nothing anyone could do about it. When kakashi was passed out after killing rin, obito could also have taken the eye. He just willingly chose not to during the show.

Let me tell you how nerfed Obito is:
A 14 yo went up against arguably a top5 shinobi of all time, had his chance and almost sucked him up and admitted that he wasn’t taking it seriously while Minato was out for a kill
Has one of the strongest genjutsu, barely ever uses it
Drops his tools (chains and fan) for almost entirety of the show
Almost never uses wood style
Most importantly, has always had the ability to take his second Sharingan from Kakashi but never did, which also means he never got his Susanoo
And lastly, when he turns into Juubito, he can no longer use Kamui but somehow Madara can
Put aside that after everything Obito went through in the war arc he was reacting to Kaguya and was one of the main reasons they were able to win

I think Obito reacting the way he did to Kabuto showing him Madara was more of his surprise that Kabuto figured it out. Remember at this point everyone still thinks Tobi is Madara, and even the Kage are convinced he is Madara. Kabuto pulls out Madara when Tobi asks what if he says no to Kabuto's proposed alliance, as a "back-up plan". This insinuates that Kabuto either A) believes that an edo-tensei Madara could in-fact beat Tobi/Obito or B) determines even if the reanimated Madara could not beat Tobi, it would confirm that Tobi is not Madara to the world. Kabuto even goes as far to ensure him that he hasn't told anyone that Tobi is NOT Madara. Tobito also lays a condition for the alliance that Kabuto can't have Sauske until after the war, if he was truly afraid of Madara would he really lay down a condition that hinders Kabuto's main motivation to allying with Tobi? In the scene he's genuinely angry with Kabuto for this and is even seen looking back at the coffin when Kabuto recalls the jutsu to make sure it closes. Later when Naruto confronts Tobi after Madara is reanimated, he seems more annoyed and frustrated with that knowledge than fearful and worried. I think you guys are right that he was more concerned with Madara becoming 10-tails jinshuriki than actually being afraid of Madara's battle power.

Kamui is the single best ability in all of naruto AND boruto. It alone elevates just about anyone to top 10 in the series
Karma is so much more busted its not even funny. A genin with Kamui is like a jonin lvl but with Karma you can instantly drop most of the war arc alone.
That wood style, flying raijin, most sharingan abilities, and the 3rd Raikage (Ability I forgot the name)

Exactly. People very much underestimate Obito. Two of his biggest fights in the show are against two people who were apart of his old squad team and had the ONLY known two counters to his Kamui ability, and that is another Kamui, and instant teleportation. And the part with Obito being “shocked” by reanimated Madara in my honest opinion was more of jab from Kabuto letting him know he knows his true identity is not Madara at all and less about Obito not being confident to hold his own. Then again it’s basic logic that Obito can’t handle Madara, Itachi and other reanimated members, PLUS Kabuto himself. Kishimoto ruined Obitos scaling allowing Madara to keep some abilities but had to nerf Obito once he became a juubi cause he wouldn’t of lost and most know that’s true. And if we’re talking hypotheticals, Obito simply having that second Sharingan would’ve been very dangerous for every character in the series. This should be more about putting more respect on Obito than trying to degrade how powerful Madara is.

Think of the story in this way -
Obito wasn't nerfed. Instead Obito's character was created to show utter depression that can happen to someone.
Kishimoto decided his fate to be sooooo bad that he never got "Hokage Funeral" theme song played for him in the background. The fact it got played for Madara when he died but not even once for Obito ...when in reality Obito's desire to become Hokage was greater than Madara. (Infact Madara never even wanted to become a hokage)
Moreover Obito's theme song Niji by Shinku Horou is not that famous ....it was deliberately put as the ending song cuz you know endings songs are skipped more than openings in general.
I mean to say Obito's character was purely made for two things. One - Utter loneliness and disparity. That no one will remember him and he will be forgotten.
Two - Respect (thay he gained in eyes of Naruto in the end)

One thing I might not have heard being mentioned or wasn't mentioned at all is the fact that a Sharingan user can see the chakra building up in the eye to use ocular abilities. This would in turn allow Madara to see when Obito is going to use Kamui, and can very easily use this to apply pressure to Obito. I just wanted to add more information to the debate.
That's why Kakashi could see it the whole time behind his mask and didn't have to figure out by attacking him during the war arc right? Makes little difference even if that was true if Madara had anything capable of pure concentrated destruction for 5 minutes. Chibaku tensei/meteorites wouldn't be close to enough and I doubt a big ol forest would do it either.

I could see a scenario where edo Madara uses his 25 wood clones to try to run out the 5 minute timer on kamui by constantly attacking Obito from all angles.

It’s head cannon but like madara being one of the smartest shinobi ever and his insane arsenal including stuff like limbo and rinnegan hax , I’m certain he would find a way to bypass kamui.

One thing I'd like to point out that happened, at least as far as the anime goes: when Obito took the tailed beast chakra from OR6P Madara, he was attacked at close range and could still out speed him with intangibility. Even Madara was perplexed by it. It was only that teleportation takes a bit longer than intangibility, hence Madara was able to react to that in time. I'm not aware if this is canon to the manga

I think Edo Madara has an interesting advantage that wasn't discussed here: specifically, he won't run out of stamina, so he actually can just attack constantly until Obito fucks up. Also, even if he's sucked into Kamui, he won't die. If he never dies in Kamui, Obito can never use Kamui safely for the rest of his life without risking Madara attacking the part that's in there or attacking Obito if he ever enters the Kamui dimension. Does Obito have sealing jutsu to put down an Edo Tensei without Kamui? No idea. But I know that Kamui isn't quite a win there.

That couldn’t be farther from the truth. Madara took out a clone of naruto in tailed beast mode with just his gunbai and also put pressure on B and Guy to the point of exhaustion. Obito wasn’t able to do that.

I think it's possible that Madara could figure out that Kamui has a time limit, and since Madara has IMMENSE chakra reserves he could put out a sustained assault for 5 minutes and force Obito to run the clock on his kamui and then kill him.

I like to think of Obito as that guy who just uses one move and is to lazy to use any of the other moves he has in his arsenal. The guy had all of pains abilities yet never used them, his woodstyle is incredible underrate(He killed like half the shinobi force with just woodstyle) and his fire style is in par with Madaras.
Not in character , his entire character is made from his abilities and his stamina being gifted to him , or him stealing them later on . A weak character development from my perspective , Madara is written way , way better .

I think the reason Obito lost composure when Kabuto summoned Madara is alot more simple. I think he was just genuinely surprised Kabuto was able to locate Madara's body and resurrect him.

I think that when an eye is transplanted, the body rejects it if it isn't in a pair. E.g. kakashi got worn out easily from using 1 sharingan despite presumably having a better chakra supply than most average Uchiha that could use the sharingan. Another example being if I remember correctly Obito struggled with his 1 rinnegan and it wore him out quicker too. When he had his dms, it's like there's just an added multiplier when you have a pair

Obito has absolutely insane durability, evasiveness, (i.e. intangibility)/kamuii, determination, and just pure grit. He should have died at least half a dozen times and kept pushing, even when he got halfway crushed by the boulder he stayed conscious and oriented so much better than others would have. Plain and simple if he had both his sharingan he'd be borderline unstoppable, they had to plot that away from him. He, in my opinion, is the hardest to take out character (non-six paths) in all of Shippuden. And he's probably my favorite character if not at least in my top 3 favorites, and a lot of it is because of his raw toughness to keep going despite having one arm, and a giant hole in his chest for god's sake lol
Dont forget the Izanagi he could use thanks to his few dozen spare Sharingan from the coup. Combine that with Kamui and its overkill. He could basically just use Izanagi, kamui to his hideout, get a new eye and come back in a matter of minutes. The guy has like 50 revives xD

A impressive feet that sort of puts him in the Madara ball park range is the fact that he made a fire style Justu on par with his, which required a whole platoon of water ninja to counter it. Also Obito could of combined it with Kamui to make it even larger. People think he combined it with Kmaui and thaywhy it was so big, but in the panel we never see the trade mark Kamui swirl pattern.

It's honestly kinda bullshit that Minato beat him at one point, but he was literally like 14 years old and could fight competitively with Minato. Minato was killing whole platoons by himself and this kid gave him some trouble. Obito deserves so much respect and acknowledgement.
@Malthizar it's fine with me if we disagree, I probably can't change your mind either. I do believe that 1v1.Obito could defeat Kakashi, Itachi, probably as an adult with the rinnegan I'd guess it could clap up Minato. I'm not saying that the story would be written like that though, I'm just saying that Obito isn't helplessly no match for these characters. If you swapped Sasuke with Obito when he fought Itachi Obito easily takes it, mostly because of Itachi being sick and dying. Also if 1/2 paths of pain could kill Kakashi there's no way Ohio couldn't. It's important to remember thR based on feats Obito is comparable in speed, AP, and skill to fight toe to toe with KCM 2 Naruto who's faster than the Raikagr. I definitely agree that there's some wiggle room for these match ups and you could make a good case for either one of them. So I don't entirely disagree I suppose.
Hilarious that 10Madara could use Kakashi's eye to go into Kamui but Obito couldn't. Goes to show how busted they all got towards the end; however, I do believe that lesser versions of Madara could just spam wood style long enough to run out the Kamui timer.
Even the Otsutsuki and Sasuke's space time techniques are inferior to Kamui, since they can't make the user intangible and require creating a portal directly in front of them in order to teleport, while Kamui just automatically sucks Obito or his target into Kamui's dimension without all the extra steps the others need. The only one I'd say is on the same level is Kaguya's which allows her to switch between dimensions instantly, and while she is shown needing to create portals to move between different parts in the same dimension she is able to create small ones that she can simply reach through to pull others through.

madara is not faster then Naruto and guy they were spamming attacks on Obito and only reason they had a chance is because kakashi had the actual counter to kamui … madara would not have that luxury try again

What’s crazy is that Madara’s power was highly in part due to Rinnegan’s while Obito’s Mangekyo’s which never turned to Rinnegan’s were on par if not way stronger than Madara’s Rinnegan abilities were.
Madara’s power was not due to the rinnegan, he was just that strong. He was a warrior from a different era who was molded into having immense strength, skill, and precision by constant combat and war. Madara was insanely strong that’s why he was the second person to ever unlock the rinnegan, it’s not the other way around. Madara with both rinnegan was able to end the world within 24 hours of being revived while Obito with his kamui had to spend two decades assembling the Akatsuki and struggled to capture the tailed beasts. Obito couldn’t handle controlling 7 tailed beasts and defeating Naruto while Madara KILLED Naruto and bitched all 9 tailed beasts at once. There’s a huge difference in power between Madara’s rinnegan and Obito’s kamui and in their individual strength as well. It’s not even close.

This video really puts it into perspective how insanely broken Kamui is. It's teleportation, one shot, and intangibility all in one and it's extremely spammable as well. Obito literally only had half the jutsu and it single handedly made him more powerful than Madara.

Video request: I'd love to see some analysis (or a versus battle) for Kisame, mostly because I feel like the show does him *really* dirty causing people to sleep on him somewhat. As far as I know, he only has 3 relevant fights:
- his 30% clone fights team Guy, forcing Guy into using 6 gates. The reason this is unfair is that Guy's pure taijutsu is one of the hardest possible counters to Kisame's chakra absorbtion style of fighting.
- He fights Bee, who at this point is one of the strongest active people in the series, and seems to be absolutely demolishing him until his weapon betrays him and starts helping the enemy.
- His final fight is against Guy again, facing his hard-counter once more, this time without Samehada at all, and he now forces out the 7th gate before going down while he still manages to pass on his intel which was his main objective in this fight.
I could be wrong about the fights, it's been a while since I watched the show. I just remember thinking that Kisame got done dirty and should be way stronger than he was shown to be in those fights.

1. His 30% clone didn't really force Guy to open the 6th gate because he was strong he forced him to open the 6th gate because Guy's Students were in trouble and he needed to end the fight quickly
2. "The reason this is unfair is that" is what you said about Kisame's fight with Guy the same applies for Bee he is facing his direct counter Bee in fact blitzed and one shot Kisame the only reason he survived was due to absorbing Bee's Chakra
3. Guy only used the 7th gate because this Kisame was amped by Killer B's Chakra

@@SRVaris Kisame didn't got one shoted by Bee. He fused with Samehada and swapped place with White Zetsu so Zetsu would take the double lariat and Kisame could infiltrate the Cloud Village. Even the Samehada betrayal was an act, at first. But then Samehada started enjoying too much Bee's chakra and actually betrayed Kisame.

Great video! I always love to speculate a bout between the two coolest Uchihas. I also agree that they would most likely stall eachother out in most cases except SO6P Madara vs most forms of Obito besides DMS. It may be a hot take, but I think a DMS Obito with Six Paths chakra actually has a pretty good chance vs SO6P Madara.
Also question in regards to limbo for Swag and Six, would Obito with Rinnegan be able to see Limbo or does it need to be a Six Paths enhanced Rinnegan? If you think he is able to see it, he would just be able to Kamui through them I would think. Would he hypothetically be able to just warp them off the battlefield?
Obito should see them with the normal Rinnegan since Madara first use of limbo was a regular Rinnegan
@@gameuniverse5973 I'm leaning towards him being able to see it as well, I'm only reluctant because Limbo seemed to be exclusive to Madara and Naruto and Sasuke were only aware of their presence due to Six Paths and Six Paths RInnegan respectively. But since we are in agreement that he would be able to see it, I think it removes one of Madaras only win cons.

@@regularr8333 Even if Obito can see the Limbo clones he can't affect then without Rikudou chakra, you could argue that he could kamui them away sure but that doesn't stop Madara from just resummoning them & if it's a matter of who can spam more before running out of chakra that's def going in Madaras favor.
Also Madara has multiple other win cons against Kamui such as Izanami, Deep Forest Emergence, or just pressuring Obito into creating an opening like Guy did.
How Kishimoto would deal with that? He just gives Madara his mysterious Mangekyo Ability to change time back and somehow gives him the W
