Venom fights with a pool stick, I-No rocks out on the guitar, and Faust is the brown paper bag 9 foot tall doctor. This game is incredibly original and the soundtrack is one of the best in fighting games. The whole theme, characters, and move names allude to classic rock. This game fucking rocks man.
You can Faultless Defend when dashing to stop immediately. You can attack as soon as you leave the ground with a Tiger Knee motion (input the normal motion of any air move, but add 7 or 9, then P, K, H or HS). I don't know what's the command for Faust's kick, but for example, take Johnny's Ensenga (j.41236+HS). Input 412369+HS to perform the move very close to the ground, instead of jumping and then inputing the motion.
hey thanks for the combo video for sol i mastered all thoes combo's and added alil of my own in there if i had a camera i would post it up asap but i don't
@dapithapon all of these combos are doable in matches - as for sol u have to make sure the sidewinder has a clean hit *ie when the screen sticks slightly from impact* once u get a clean hit off the sidewinder each time you can do the sidewinder loop
Sweet. And it sounds like Robo-Ky got a new song. It'll be hard for me to learn this system though since you can power up specail moves which make them more useful than a characters overdrives.
@dapithapon it is - thts why GGX gains so much respect amongst hard core tourney fighters- its a hard and complex fighter- heres an example- a false cancel like i described is shown by blue rings- rewatch this vid and count the blue rings tht you see around the player as he does the combos and youll understand how precise the timing has to be
When a combo is techable, it means that you could've escaped out of it. For example Sol throws you in the air, you could do aerial recovery before his next hit so the combo would end, but if you didn't tech out of it and just let the combo go on the beat goes black. Since it's an invalid combo (escapable combo).
trust me, I know how you feel bro, when I finally got AC I was pullin off some next level shit, AC is Way better then AC+, although I do love hypermode battles and the Chaos roman cancelling, spam the same attack 4 times in a row XD
The combo has more pushback with each hit, so after only a couple repetitions the enemy would be out of Jam's reach. That's why you sweep at the end, so you get a knockdown at least.
FRC (False Roman Cancel, or Force Roman Cancel as I've seen it called sometimes) is a Roman Cancel (3 buttons excluding dust during any move to return to a neutral state instantly) when used at a specific time, on specific moves. Like for example, there's an FRC point at the startup of Sol's Gunflame. It means that if you hit 3 buttons (excluding Dust) at the same time exactly as Sol's sword hits the ground during the Gunflame animation, you can return to neutral state instantly for 25% tension.
I find it really nice. It seems to be more beginner freindly because the combos are more flexible with all the floor slides and wallbounces, so it is easier to have fun for the occasional player while allowing the pros to rock
A Roman Cancel uses 50% of the Tension Gauge and you can cancel most moves with it. A False Roman Cancel uses 25% of the Tension Gauge and can only be used with certain attacks. It also has a very strict timing as opposed to the Roman Cancel which you can basically do at any time.
I love Sol. He uses a brutal, stripped-down style that doesn't bother with long range. Dude just gets in your face and beats the living Hell out of you.
what makes testament so good is that he can control the enviornment via the traps he sets, so if u face a testament player who knows whats hes doin you mite had a difficult time. Eddie attacks in ways that are head on , like the invite hell , and forb. beats moves. however its roughly the same. However against a close range or midrange chacter like ky, sol, anji , millia , or chipp, you should be able to have even matchups thats it you know what you're doing
@dapithapon sidewinder is hcb+ HS am its kinda hard to describe a clean hit- when the screen sticks when it hits is when u get a clean hit just like u see in this vid. I usually get a clean hit if im really close to my opponent or slightly above them in midair so tht it hits his head sorta. Hard to describe its something you gotta feel fore when you're playing- ive been playing for yrs so i guess its natural for me, trial and error helps alot tho
well thats definately true, but what I meant with beginner friendly is that most of the characters are relatively easy to pick up and become decent with them
I may be wrong, but for those who are claiming that recovery was off: I'm pretty sure that from Slash on, there was a visual indicator when an invalid combo was preformed (the number turned black, right?).
@chronocrosser yeah, but this one is more hardcore to play, so you don't always chain combos from weak to heavy, also you have to make cancels, and the most of them, for at least in this vid, takes lots of practice...
No. There are system differences as well as the properties of the characters are waaaay different then their X2 counterparts. Plus everybody has different or new additional moves.
I think was a combo video...though I wouldn't exactly know if hitboxes work in this game. But I believe that it was release shortly after the game.( I have seen the same thing for Tekken 5: DR)
Ky = Standard Hadokens, Easy to launch attacks, Basic Attacks. Daisuke said he was made to be the most beginner friendly character along with also having depth with the rest of the other characters. Has many tactics and awesome pressures. Sol= Gunflame FRC is considered really hard to master, Side Winder must be in clean hit which is generally on the head or the stomach. Has limited tactics with Gunflame being his only pressure move. Sol's for intermediate.
@dapithapon no they arent infinite when the move hits u the character is pushed back so eventually the character will be out of reach and u cant continue the combo any further- theres also damage scaling when the combo is too long that being said some combos can take off half your life if you dont have burst-
XD I want that pic of Slayer. Interesting that his 2HS automatically launches now regardless of CH (Unless that changed in Slash?), and it looks like his aerial combos have been given a massive hike with that new overhead kicking move. Not to mention that ridiculous uppercut...
@kilo15 Sorry for the confusion man, what I meant was there are no fakes on the game. The only fakes you get are the cancels, and ironically the cancels are used not for the deception but for extending the combos. Don't get me wrong but mixed ups and resets are the selling point of GG...and the style too. :)
@Kyuubi424 Lemme tell ya. Johnny's isn't one of the hardest, supposedly that would be either Potemkin or Zappa. But Johnny's element would be "Fire", cause he has rather limited flame attacks. His play style is usually rather quick attacks, and air combos would work well on him too. One of the main focus of Johnny is to "Throw the coin" at your opponent to get your sword level to increase. The number of hits and damage increase with the level. Then you press a certain key, and unleash power atk.
hehe I'm with you on that one, I can barely FRC without help, the only thing I can FRC is order-sols action charge. I can do a few others such as Sol's Gunflame and Bandit Revolver but they don't always work
yeahh me too i was wondering what the differences were and whether the same overdrive combos can be used in combination with normal hits to perform those 10-15 hit combos, or ahve they changed it so those can no longer be made unless with a different variation?
After R, there's GGX2 Slash, then the current version GGX2 ^Core (the one you're watching now) Then there was a side project between #R and Slash (Isuka) which was a 4 way fighter.
@TaurusType I haven't played a whole lot of GG, so maybe I'm wrong but GG plays a little bit faster than BB but is more complicated to play. Sol Badguy and Ragna pretty much play the same if you watch closely
there's this guy who was in a summer tourney for GG and he goes by the name of En. he's a beastly slayer. i have some of the tourney vids in my favs....
please don't resent me for this question but do the moves in AC and AC+ vary? or are they the same for the exact same combos to occur? but either way great job, ive only mastered 2-3 characters looks like you've racked up everytrhing and for that 5/5
I heard about a re-release of this game coming to the arcade, XBLA, and PSN. Since I'm a huge fan of BlazBlue but never tried Guilty Gear (never had a chance to), I'm curious about it. What would you say about the story and gameplay vs the ones from BB?
The original japanese ps2 version was the bugged copy, making it not so arcade perfect. It's fixed in the US version, but the bugs weren't terrible game ruining experiences. There was stuff like Sol's double clean hit, Bridgets invincible Roger, and Zappas multiple possessions. There should be a bug video of AC somewhere on youtube if I remember correctly.
however its fun to play as teams and with 4 humans when youre having a party. plus the color edit is sweet even thought i havent figured it out yet. Also if i trade this in now it'll be impossible to find it again unless i buy it online mentioning i dont have a credit card yet. I heard Accent Core Plus is great but it costs 30bucks. whether its accent core or isuka??
I loved your combos, I only smash buttons and make shit custom combos xD Always making things like S-MS-HS or S-S-MS-HS Personal comment: I sadly can find this game as addictive for some reason
So there's this Guilty Gear combo video I stumbled upon here a while ago. It was a compilation of what was obviously some custom hacked version of the game. Characters were pulling off wicked supers, hit clashes, and combos that just aren't possible in regular versions of the game. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm having trouble finding it again. A friend wants to see it.
It depends. Testament has a number of unfavorable matchups (axl, ky, etc.), and eddie loses options under pressure, so it's not as bad as you say if you know what your doing. They're definitly the best, but they aren't untouchable.
Yea it is! I first learned about from watching the anime Genshiken and this kid was really good at this game and they kept showing clips of it and I was just amazed by the combo's! I just wish I had someone else to play it with =(
lolz at the almost 50% 8 - hit combo for Eddie. Even though it cost 25% tension, its pretty much nothing, and makes Sol look like he's struggling to get some good damage.
I know i'm years later, but i'm trying to learn this game... i really suck at it but is so cool. I cant combo at all. Can someone please explain to me how to jump after 5HS with Order-Sol e continue his first combo in this video starting at 9:13? thank you for your attention.
@GadjiltronKiller yeah, and that's why the latest GG tournament done in the summer of this year was on GGAC not GGAC+...... Plus stinks!!!! arggh, and that's the one i have.... :(
Is it possible to jumpinstall in GGAC? I only have #reload and the original XX and jumpinstall is the biggest focus when i play chipp (as you would imagine) would suck if i couldnt jumpinstall to follow up on my 2HS (launcher). :
Even if that's the case, it's still very well done! (and at least you don't use hex) Kudos Chronocrosser! I'd like to get my hands on this one! (OMG! Millia's hair now actually look like wings! WOW! I love her even more!)
Yeah, you're probably right, but a number of sites were claiming that they had a release date for accent core on the wii, that's why I said "supposedly".
Wow the other day I went to a game store, and I saw a bunch of people looking for guilty gear. Seems GG is finally shining out, not to mention like 7 million copies have been sold in America. Finally it's deserving credit in where it's due.

cool man, so you can FRC, about as much as I can. I usually main Order-Sol, Sol when I need to get serious and Ky when I'm in a funny mood, even then he's still deadly.

It's way more fun if you experiment and create your own combos
John Roe Cayunda YESSSS
Very nice man
Jam, Dizzy, Slayer and Testament were my favorite combos out of this. So awesome!
I love how Axl is the punching bag

Well keep in mind the video was made when the game very first came out, and just as a demonstration. Nothing particularly fancy here.
It's a honor the see this recommendation in 2021
@chronocrosser yeah, but this one is more hardcore to play, so you don't always chain combos from weak to heavy, also you have to make cancels, and the most of them, for at least in this vid, takes lots of practice...
No. There are system differences as well as the properties of the characters are waaaay different then their X2 counterparts. Plus everybody has different or new additional moves.
yeah there is already a release-date for the wii-version...
its set for 30Jul 07 but im not sure...
yes i agree, slayer is one character i need 2 master- sol, ky, testament, jam, chipp and anji are my best so far

@dapithapon accent core plus well thts the motion i use to differentiate from the volcanic viper and side winder bt u maybe right lol
@dapithapon no they arent infinite when the move hits u the character is pushed back so eventually the character will be out of reach and u cant continue the combo any further- theres also damage scaling when the combo is too long

I never got the timing on Ky's Vapor Thrust extra hit.
the sidewinder is a clean hit
That's what I heard, but false was so thoroughly integrated I so no harm in using it.
It's the arcade version. Check the date uploaded and check the release dates of the different versions.
wow pure awesomeness! desho? makes me want 2 check out the anime...wonder if it has comparable fight scenes
@Kyuubi424 Lemme tell ya. Johnny's isn't one of the hardest, supposedly that would be either Potemkin or Zappa. But Johnny's element would be "Fire", cause he has rather limited flame attacks. you must continually press the d pad and slash buttons.i once landed a good 9 hits of the grand viper.but haven't done it again eversince
Wow at all the broken goodness. Thanks for upload. Lots of cool stuff.
hehe I'm with you on that one, I can barely FRC without help, the only thing I can FRC is order-sols action charge.
I can do a few others such as Sol's Gunflame and Bandit Revolver but they don't always work

The last combo with Axl was insane.
yeahh me too

Very nice video btw.

but either way great job, ive only mastered 2-3 characters looks like you've racked up everytrhing

@TaurusType he also has no running at all, just air dash and a slow ground hop/teleport?
gg isnt dead, the past week was confirmed that there will be a new gg for ps3 and xbox 360.
@BobBurnnquist thats because it is
@Doom2Guy Of course he is. I doubt it's possible to take Axl seriously.
how do you do that downward axe kick wih Chipp while in the air? i never get it to come out for me.
lolz at the almost 50% 8 - hit combo for Eddie. Even though it cost 25% tension, its pretty much nothing, and makes Sol look like he's struggling to get some good damage.
ky kiske was my fav in this game... loved this game
Thank you so much! I always was mashing just S.
that is how it works in most arc syst games if you really need to cancel a move into another really fast.
I know i'm years later, but i'm trying to learn this game... i really suck at it but is so cool. I cant combo at all. Can someone please explain to me how to jump after 5HS with Order-Sol e continue his first combo in this video starting at 9:13? thank you for your attention.
I've been playing order sol for quite a while and I must say I am utterly confused. I would guess that it was a cancel of some kind but I am not sure.
@@alkiviadispantelidis1847 thanks for the answer. Now i am more curious since even a order-sol player is confused XD
@@mauricioadv451 I think it was a Roman cancel of some sort. It could also be the version of the game.
instant air dash?
@GadjiltronKiller yeah, and that's why the latest GG tournament done in the summer of this year was on GGAC not GGAC+...... Plus stinks!!!! arggh, and that's the one i have.... :(
Can't you cheese with Robo-Ky? Like, use that red glowing floor thing, soup yourself up for 10 seconds, let it run out, and use the barrage super.
@gyren99 Millia is at 1:30
Is it possible to jumpinstall in GGAC? I only have #reload and the original XX and jumpinstall is the biggest focus when i play chipp (as you would imagine) would suck if i couldnt jumpinstall to follow up on my 2HS (launcher). :
Finally!! Someone else can see the light!
5:31
Right now supposedly it's scheduled for a july release for Wii.
you can check the move list in the game =D
@ksmuffin Same creator, arc system. BlazBlue's concept is pretty similar. Story line too. Just like Sol and Ky, they have Ragna and Jin.
@fdsa168
Mashing Left&Right S and HS adds hits to it iirc.
Wow the other day I went to a game store, and I saw a bunch of people looking for guilty gear. Seems GG is finally shining out, not to mention like 7 million copies have been sold in America. Finally it's deserving credit in where it's due.
This is Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, the most balanced 2D fighting game.
I don't know about GGXXAC+R, but that's not out yet to be judged.
this was sooo useful
i really no nothing about guilty gears i just downloaded it off xbl and im curious what other titles are there? is this one more new or more old then Guilty Gear XX #Reload witch is the one i downloaded
you need to press 3 buttons at the same time. RC cost 50% tension and FRC 25%
Input 96 or 74, depending of the direction.
