Gotta beat story mode with said character. Or have 100 hours and they'll be all unlocked. Or go to network mode and host a private lobby with ex characters enabled. Then press confirm on your self in the lobby to go into training mode. It'll work there

The reason the EX characters have a lot of overlap with their Xrd counterparts is because they’re actually taking from an older version of XX. #Reload, which is what Xrd was based off of

That's not quite accurate, they were updated for AC (for example Reload pot didn't have vacuum 2S)
@@mibeador some AC/+R characters got moves/move properties from their EX versions, like how Johnny's air super was ex exclusive until the final versions of XX, might've been the same for pot 2S
The combo at 0:44 wasn't even a dust. EX Slayer looks like he belongs in Fighterz with that air game.

this, basically when you hit stun threshold each move has a chance to stun. that’s how it works in a lot of old fighting games

It really do look like that
EX Slayer is easily the most busted DC character, with some things that weren't even shown here. For starters, you can combo into the rekka for easy confirms. While you might think you get bad oki, if you go into 2D then rekka into Its Late, you get a close hard knockdown with a lot of advantage off any starter. This can also be done from any of his starters really, and generally leads to better damage and oki than air combos. You can also go into the rekka from 2D and go into Mixup, it's advantaged enough to start an air combo by linking into 5P. This does even more damage but has worse oki. The raw pile bunker works as a frame 1 reversal, and combined with the frc, you can make it safe. Just don't expect it to punish anything. The magic bag super, Royal Hunt, is frame 5 and 0 after flash as well as really big. This means you can easily punish normally safe moves and catch opponents holding forward. On top of that it leads to a full rekka juggle. His Dead On Time is fully invincible on startup, which is as ridiculous as it sounds especially since it has no new weaknesses to balance it out. Bloodsucking Universe launches on hit instead of staggering, making the routes from it easier. It also leads to a full rekka juggle. Finally, he has AC Slayer hitboxes making some moves like j.H incredibly annoying to deal with.
Neat
Dizziness on moves has a layer of randomness, so sometimes you'll be able to immediately dizzy with a string, sometimes you won't. Zappa's 2H has a similar thing going on.

I like how Chipp is a glass cannon in the sense he has 9^10e mix up options but gets hit three times and loses half his health.

I might be wrong but I don’t think that’s the proper way to write scientific notation. “e” in scientific notation means “times 10 to the power of” and theres no number after e. If you’re wondering 9e+10 which is close enough is ninety billion.

"Rekka Slayer with normal dashes" doesn't sound like too bad of an elavator pitch for a Strive version of him. Hell, even if that's too big of a departure from what Slayer's "supposed to be", we know from Nagoryuki that there are other vampires they could hand this moveset to. Food for thought.

(reposting because i think the dustloop link flagged the first comment) 214p doesn't consistently stun because stun is just straight up random in +r the moves stun value is multiplied randomly anywhere between 1.0 and 1.3 its on the "offence" page of dustloop if you want the exact details

Regular Slayer had this scuffed air dash until Slash, that's why you never see anyone airdashing with Slayer in games earlier than AC. And the stun modifier on Pilebunker was a thing for regular Slayer in Vanilla XX and #Reload. It wasn't uncommon for Slayer in those two games to just win the round off of CH Pile against low stun resistance characters.

The stun modifier on Pilebunker itself isn't random. The formula that calculates stun damage has an RNG component:

Slayer in strive could have Undertow as his 5D, and when he lands Bite he could get Armor on it. One Hit for every time you bite the enemy in the round.

I'd probably like EX Slayer better because the teleport fries every last braincell I have. Even if it's worse than teleport, I'd gladly take the dash until I can actually learn what combos into what better.
