- 'Pixel Dream' is a eurorack modular synth performance + music video. It’s an homage to 8-bit and 16-bit video games. Utilizing eurorack modules with sound chips from the early era of video games and hand animated pixel sprites, this song and film is an attempt to pay tribute to games I fell in love with as a kid. I spent over 300 hours composing, drawing, animating, and filming 'Pixel Dream' over the past 3 months. I hope you enjoy it. Recognize your favorite module in my 8-bit eurorack case? I wondered where you were at in the usual haunts. Then I saw you a couple times in the Divkid QOTD channel and I thought, "hmmm... I bet he finished something." I am pleasantly not surprised by the video today. Seriously, I love the vibe, the music, the video.

My system is 2 parallel systems in one so I can be writing 2 songs at the same time and also when performing a set with multiple songs I can queue up the next track while I'm playing. Kinda like a DJ with 2 turntables. Cheers. Thanks for watching 🤙🏻

What's the setup for recording? Are you actually using the reel to reel or are you using a DAW? If going into a DAW, what's the interface setup like? Recording in one track of stereo or each track to its own lane?
I used the reel to reel for awhile but just for color. I record a stereo master into ableton and also the individual tracks. I have the expander for the wmd performance mixer that lets you break out the individual tracks. I record all my songs in a single take though. No editing. So once’s it’s recorded into ableton I just do a quick master to max the levels and it’s done. Thanks for watching.
