@@STH151NicoleFan You can say that for Family Guy, American Dad on the other hand has literally gotten better with time. It's a different show than it was S1-4 sure, it wasn't anywhere near as over the top and they really focused the whole 'dumb dad-Republican-CIA agent' shtick, but they've been consistent as fuck with the writing/comedy/characters and plot lines. The 'special' episodes they do are the best, like the "200" when Roger caused the world to end or Stan's "real family" Christmas episode, "Family Day" at that theme park, Roger's personas have gotten dramatically funnier, with the exception of a few side characters like "Billy" (who I despise) the show is golden.
If they decide to put an end to American dad and make The Fellow Traveler a new show, I am so down. This episode is a part of my top 10 favorite American dad episodes!🎉
This was actually a wholesome episode, I loved this being the premiere!
Kind of weird how they've retconned Roger and his whole history, admittedly it fits better and gives a lot more wiggle room for comedy; like they retconned the fact Stan saved his life against CIA orders and that's how he started living with them, or how Haley gave him the idea to start dressing up in wigs/different clothes for 'personas', or how his spaceship crashed in Roswell.
They been messing with alternate timeliness for a long time now. And it was going to be an issue once rogers persona's started being dated years before he met the smiths.
Honestly I always thought Roger took so many hard substances that the brain damage literally made him forget he could do disguises prior to the pilot, and he rediscovered the ability season 2
The Rabbit Ears guys wrote another great one. Wow.

Didn’t one of the older episodes “show” how he started using disguises? I guess both episodes can exists in the same timeline because he never said it was his first time doing it, but it was the first time the family & the audience saw it
Yeah they've retconned Roger's history quite a bit in the latter seasons to really stretch out his personas and whatnot
@@CommanderLongJohn To be fair, they started with alternate timelines a WHILE back. And it was confirmed in the episode where Francine gets stuck in Hell. “In different timelines, you have different tattoos. Makes sense.”
Love the Leonard Zane callback. I’d honestly love June Rosewood to reappear sometime
They did an episode on len len and the June bug. You should look it up it’s a great episode

@@ethanpf449 I know, but her mannerisms and the way she carried her arms suggested to me she was a Roger persona Stan and Francine couldn't see through. He's faked persona deaths before.
Shouldn’t Francine be Grandma Macadoo? That was her character in Roger’s Baywatch show.
if y'all don't like the show anymore, just don't watch it. this episode was so fun and i'm looking forward to the new season
Saw this new episode last night and something tells me the child is still alive in present day and will make a comeback as an old man in one of the episodes.

Its a weird episode and covering Roger's past in one episode kinda worries me that they might not have any materials anymore. kind alike family guy and the simpsons. just end those already.
They are still making them because people still enjoy them.

Exactly how I feel. I'd rather a show end on a high note than drag it out. I love Mike Tyson mysteries and it ended on a good note. I will and still go back and watch old episodes of AD, FG, Futurama, Simpson and enjoy it. Quality over quantity.
Oh!!! American dad got bad and boring at around the end of their last latest season, and now they still SAD AND BORING SCRIPT with new season.

It's not that impressive Patrick Stewart works on the cheap nowadays a lot of the cred from Next Generation and X-Men movies was drained with his weighing/annoying in social issues just lack luster roles. Like the first two seasons of Picard really set him back recently.
This show is so bad now...

@TheBenCarroll go back and watch older episodes of AD and compare to the new ones. They try way too hard. I definitely agree about family guy being bad as well. It's bad when the B story is better than the A. I'm referring to the episode where Klaus falls in love with the tech support agent. The whole skiing portion was a snooze fest.
@Alot2late I already do watch older episodes of American Dad and in my opinion, the series has really grown over time. Found its feet and all that. I'm seeing this show through to the end and will do likewise with both South Park and Futurama (looking forward to the new season of the latter). Simpsons fans are not giving up on their show either, there are still some who the latest seasons I kid you not.
