-,West B street Butner, They run 3 loaders a day. The trucks will be backed up from the scale house to B street and sometimes on B street in the AM until they get first round out.
That sure is a ton of dump trucks! Looks like a lot of guys in newer rigs. SAVE yer money cuz I am betting a lot of these guys are bank owned and driving the rate down! Thx fer showing us what NC busy season looks like. What can you guys legal on the quads and quints respectively? Super tag here in Cali is 17.5 ton and transfer is similar. Cheers from Santa Cruz ca
Yessir and I only got to record a quarter of the trucks!! Only had I brought my GoPro!! This area is flooded with newer trucks. The payments on them are no joke 😂😂. True, which is why I only haul for a handful of contractors. There are still just as many older trucks around in this area though. Most steel body quads can legally haul 18 tons (interstate) and 20 tons (non-interstate). Steel body quints can legally haul 20 tons (interstate) and 21.5-22 (non-interstate). I normally haul asphalt by the hour.
I still have dreams of working construction and running heavy equipment on road jobs and in quarries and im retired now. They aren't happy dreams, they are nightmares like having a line of dump trucks waiting to be loaded all day long. I think enough about women....why am i not dreaming about them. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was in a field in DeLand Florida working for The Middlesex Company loading our on the job trucks and got stuck loading the trucks for the people who owned the land loading with a 450 JD and loading out over 300 a day for a month. The stress was beyond what I was being paid.
Hmmmm, over 3 quarries around Columbus Ohio that put out over 1,000 loads a day each. No joke. 2 have 3 scales going in, weigh in every trip, 3 scales going out. One of them will let a 6 axle out at 86,000 like a semi. Transmitter on windshield tells loader how much of what you want before you get to the pile. They have to put 27,000 to 30,000 tons out the ground mostly at night.
I was wonder what makes you truck heavier than my Western Star . My quad is 28500 . Truck has DD13 and high lift gate . Also see your fuel mileage is in the 6's mine is in the high 7's .
@otwjaylifestyle I have 4.11 gear ratio, and on long trips and flat ground, I get above 8 mpg . I don't take many long trips unless I'm hauling Class A rip rap .
A lot of stress looking at a line of trucks all day knowing that everyone of them is thinking.... Hurry up I need 5 loads to make money. I've been there and I'm grateful to be retired now.
@otwjaylifestyle first off love watching the videos they are very informative and you put out some good information keep them coming bro they are very helpful. I've been driving semi trucks since 2018 and just purchased my first dump truck a few weeks ago . I'm based out of the Raleigh NC area any good advice you could give me on how to get my dump truck rolling . I have little knowledge as far as how to find work for dump my dump truck . I'm sure I probably should have done my research before buying a truck but I just decided to stepped out on faith. Any advice will be greatly appreciated .

Yessir!

I was wondering how the loaders felt having to put up with hundreds of trucks all day😂😂 It seems stressful and exhausting at times

I believe you. I’ve been told that Columbus Ohio is flooded with trucks.

It’s the 19 ft demolition body. What gear ratio do you have? I average mid 7’s on highway hauls.

What quarry is this? I haul out of Greystone often and see a lot of these guys around the area regularly
This quarry is located in Granville County NC. Not too far from Greystone.
How far is that from concord nc
Not too far. I’d say about 2-2.5 hrs. It is a straight shot up I85 North.
I feel bad for the loader man! Why wouldn't they bring in more loaders?
Ikr!! Probably trying to save money.
