Howdy Tom, Rich Firyn here from Virginia Beach, Va. I am a long time Willow Chair designer and builder and continue to make chairs on a limited scale today. I have always wanted to make a run up north to go on an extended Diamond Willow harvest for frame material for my chairs and also to make a diamond willow bed frame for me and my wife. I can be found on Facebook as, The Wizard of Willow. Very handy tool you have there for peeling. I just finished a loveseat and a couch where the seat pieces are peeled with stained frame, arms and back arch. Feel free to stop in and see what i'm up to.

My favorite knife is a Flexcut 1" draw knife which is availabe on Amazon. You can also use any small, sharp knife like a jackknife.

It's a 1" Flexcut draw knife. I purchased mine on Amazon. I've peeled hundreds of sticks with it and it has held up very well.
