this is a great investment! one thing you forgot to show is the silent mode alert. I caught someone in the act of trying to steal parts from my bike, he had no clue I was notified.
Had mine for over 5 years, more then worth the cost. Install was a straight plug in. Just wish the remote held the charge longer. Had to replace the remote.
Dope ass detailed video! My 05 r6 got stolen out my parking space where i live, i think the maintence guys had sumthing to do with it. I wish i wouldve seen this video and purchsed alarm.
i wish i knew about this sooner, my 09 limited edition r6 just got stolen saturday night. this is a great demonstration and I am definitely getting this.
Nope, but I got an 06 gsxr 6 and put the scorpio alarm on it and have theft insurance as well as a huge $150 chain I lock the swingarm up with now. I'll have a gun to the fuckers head by the time he pulls out a grinder, because that's what they will need.
Seriously, thanks for this review. I was on the fence about dropping the money for this system, but after seeing this, I had no problem buying it. I installed the system a couple of days on my R6 (EXTREMELY easy. btw) and so far, I love it. Scorpio should cut you an advertising check haha.
foxsoldier151 I'm also buying one because of this video. I actually saw this years before I even had a bike and just found it again. I've been having people leave me notes for parking my bike in car sized parking spots and stealing my parking permits so this should keep them away hopefully
So with the proximity sensor, can it differentiate between people and cars? Do cars set off the alarm if they come to close? I don't wanna be in class and run out because a car parked next to me lol
No it does not differentiate. Yet alarm will set off if something comes to motorcycle really close. So if any car set off your alarm - chances are it had already hit your bike.
Is there a way to quickly mute the alarm from the key fob, but not shut it off, if it goes off suddenly? I am worried it may blow up while I'm in a lecture one day and disturb the entire class. Especially in the area I mentioned in my other comment. I know this video was 2 years ago, but I thought I'd ask.
Hi remelsheikh, well done your cam work and brief explanation. I left my SR-i900 in my garage and you gave me motivation to set it up to my Fireblade 1000rr. Cheers.
I bet your neighbors loved you for this video lol This helped me a lot, though! I'm going to be getting a bike soon and I know the area my college is in is a very theft-heavy area as far as motorcycles go, so I'm going to be dishing out a lot of cold hard cash to keep my baby safe. I honestly didn't even know an alarm system like this existed. I'm grinning ear to ear right now. So buying this shit.
thanks for the good video. I'm sold on this unit. I think I am going to pass on the kill switch though. If the thief wants to start messing with my electrical system to hotwire the bike then I'd rather at that point getting a new from insurance lol.
Great video I have a couple questions tho 1. When the alarm goes off does it distinguish between what set it off like either somebody leaned it up right off the kickstand or got to close. Or is it just one general alarm notification. And 2. (Motion sensor) Does the alarm keep ringing until you manually press a button to cut it off (alarm on the bike and remote) or does the alarm on the bike/remote just stop ringing once the individual has moved away from the bike.
I have the same alarm system on my R1! The best i've ever used! But i lost the remote today! I have to unlock it with the secret code and then buy a new remote :-D great video!!
i wonder if this guy still has the alarm or answers the public, let me try, sir you do you still have the bike and alarm and can you tell me did it go bad or stould its strength?
So the alarm stops as soon as you walk away?, because I work at a mall and I don't want my bike to be obnoxious just because people walk past it or something lol
For the tilt sensor, does it only go off if it's set back down on the kick stand like in your video? Or is it set off at any change in tilt? Thanks for the awesome video!
I can park my bike near a walmarts entrance and get almost full reception until I get to the very back, then I lose it. So I would say a couple hundred feet. And the spy 5000 is a great alarm for its price. If you cant afford this, the spy would be my second choice.
***** Even though u lose it, i asume the alarm will work as programmed ? And what is the sensor called for when u get near the bike and it goes of, does it come with that sensor when u buy it or is it an extra upgrade ?
out here in new york it takes literaly 6 to 10 seconds to steal a bike, any idea of a alarm/ GPS system that can track the bikes location once its stolen…. because out here they pick it up and throw it in a truck and its that easy..
Any way you can make it not blast all the different tones based on what you are enabling or disabling? That is an absolutely terrible idea to do that if someone is paying attention and knows what the tones mean.
I have the same alarm and I forgot how to turn the system off... do you remember how to turn the system off so it does not drain the battery when the bike is in storage.e

i had like that before but the perimeter alarm doesn't get off always alarming even though there's no one approaching in my bike.
dudes i had something similar but i had serious batery problems... has in always consuming the dam batery! How is it about battery consumption of the bike?
For my proximity censor, it'll give a warning if someone walks passed but if someone stays there, the alarm won't sound off like yours does. What am I doing wrong?
The sensor triggers when theres movement. If someone walks next to it and freezes, the alarm wont trigger. It will begin to trigger again with the person starts to move. I was confused as well in the beginning.
I was thinking about getting some disc brake lock alarms, but those don't seem to keep thieves away. Do you think this Scorpio alarm is worth the investment?
What if you decide to drive your car to work and leave bike home. Will the key chain alarm still go off and inform you of alerts even though it’s not in range of the bike?
I just got this alarm, when i set the proximity sensor on every 3 mins or so it chirp's 3 time's....do you know why this happen's....is it apart of it or do i have a prob ?
How long does the battery last in the pager/remote? Harley sells one for their bikes too but the piece of shit last for 24 hours and you gotta recharge it or buy a new battery. I wish Compustar made them for motorcycles. My remote starter from them has killer range and the pager battery lasts over a month.
4:10 scared the shit out of me and im just watching a youtube video xD This + a gps transmitter placed deep inside the bike behind frame bars and shit should be pretty good.
No, thats what the ignition disable module is for. If you have that installed, there is no way it can be started without the key and disarming it first.
Looking for a buyer of new Scorpio alarm system, never used and it is in its original packaging. Looking for 430 AUD, negotiable. Proximity sensor for 40 AUD.
Thanks, It has enough reception for you to park your bike in front of a supermarket and you can shop inside with having full reception. I shop at walmart all the time and it works great. After that, you can lose signal.
For safety reason, many owners won't disclose the installed location. Although I found it easy to install, just open the seats on your motorcycle and find the best location to install it, and test it, if not working as desire just move to next location .
Nice bike man. With your being close to the front door, why not just put your bike inside your house? Not sure if you already do this or if its not allowed.
Awesome review man thanks. I'm purchasing a new CBR and the insurance company will not do theft/fire comprehensive insurance without an alarm. It was great to see a video of how the alarm works. Question you posted this video 4 months ago? Do you still like the alarm and it is still functioning the way it should? Ride safe :)

does the proximity sensor work if theres a bike cover over it?
Yes it does, as long as the bike cover doesn't have any metallic material

Any change in tilt
Does the sensors have to get charged too? or connects to the 12v batery?
Thanks man. I needed to see a review on this before I was convinced. Now I am convinced. Great review!
So if i only want the tilt and shock sensor which scorpio alarm is that coz i know theres the i900 and i700 or something.. different types
Thanks man. Im about to put 700$ kevin schwantz fairings on my bike and I want to keep it. Thanks for the video!

I realize this is a year late, but you have an option of purchasing a plug n play harness for your specific bike model.
for the Scorpio SR-i900 you have to pay for the micro wave feature well it comes with the spy 5000 for 89 bucks on ebay
