Big tip my friends & I figured out: You can use the purple, flying salmonids that grab eggs to do egg deliveries for you on some maps or tides. For example, on high tide at Inkblot Art Academy, the purple salmonids will often head towards the egg basket after collecting enough eggs. When this happens, if you wait until they are close to the basket, you can splat them above the basket and essentially let them bring eggs to the basket for free. It's much safer and a really good thing to look out for.
Don’t forget that this will be the first time horrorboros will appear. Datamined have been done and there are clips on twitter about it, and I’m just going to give my few thoughts on it. Spoilers ahead Horrorboros is a flying kind salmonid that will be flying throughout the map, tossing out booyah bombs along the way. Now if I recall correctly, horrorboros will have more HP than cohozuna, but don’t fear, as unlike cohozuna, horrorboros won’t be siting upon a fat stash of eggs to fuel your cannons. In addition, the booyah Bomb in his mouth will take time to charge up, and you can shoot it like a steelhead bomb. It will deal big damage to the king, and also cancel the current booyah bomb it was charging, so do aim for the mouth if possible. By the looks of things, there are lights across its body that will light up the closer the booyah bomb is to fully charging. As for effective weaponry, I’m not sure how effective dapple dualies, sploosh-o-matic, and splatana stamper will be against this king, so if it doesn’t seem to quite reach, just go for bosses or find high ground to attack the king effectively. Hydra, crab tank, and other long range DPS weapons will do just fine still, and do remember to melt that bomb before it can go off By the way, the grizzco weapon for this big run will be the grizzco brella, not the best at single target DPS so likely just focus on the booyah when you can and other lesser bosses for eggs
You can also throw the egg in his mouth, not sure if it does damage to both the Booyah Bomb and his HP but it’s better to just throw in his mouth (when he’s charging). Also there’s actually something this video got wrong, yes too many steelheads, eels (slammin lids not really tbh) are dangerous but flyfish and stingers are always the most dangerous bosses throughout the ENTIRE match, not sure why he said to prioritize those 3 during the latter half (why even the latter half?) when flyfish and stingers are always much more dangerous, not just at the end. So if you’ve got something like a brush, use it to revive allies by staying safe and get the stingers or flyfish, flyfish and stingers should always be your number one priority throughout the ENTIRETY of the waves unless you have a very slow weapon like eliter, hydra, etc.. That said the rest of the video is perfect.
Another tip. When he says to look at the weapon loadout that is insanely useful to find out what role you should be playing. Here's a list of some of the roles. (Names are just made up Hunter: These weapons are the best at destroying bosses, but may have harder times with salmonids, you want to focus the bosses, egg running is nice but sometimes it's better to prioritize killing as many bosses as you can instead. Ex, Heavy Splatlings, Blaster, Almost all Snipers, Explosher. Support Usually for bad weapons or ones with great painting but low damage. Your job is to run eggs while making sure everything is covered and clear to avoid your more powerful friends getting splatted. Ex, Sloshers, Splattershot Nova Attacker, Undercover Brella Great at attacking salmonids, not good at much else. Like support you're trying to get the area safe for everyone else, usually these are weapons with wide spread that kill quickly when in close range. Can kill bosses semi often but it's good to focus clearing up the space for pesky salmonids. Ex, Aerospray, Splash-o-matic, Piercing with Chargers, Tenta Brella All Round Very good middle ground weapon, has good painting and can kill salmonids and bosses vary easily. Honestly a lot of Attackers also fall in this category. You should focus on being adaptable and picking up on the teams slack. If there are too many bosses be a hunter, if there are too many salmonids, be an attacker, etc. Ex, Splattershot, Most Duelies, Most Rollers, N-Zap, Rapid Blaster. Special: This is for specific situations and specific weapons. For Glowfly waves have the roller be in the front lines and slowly move and you'll splat everything but goldies right as they walk past you. Exploshers always target Fly fish and the mouth sludge things in the night wave, Exploshers count as bombs, use them like bombs for most effectiveness. E-Leaters, Heavy Splatlings, and other very high DPS weapons, focus all efforts on the King Salmoid as your shots do more damage than focusing lesser bosses, stay safe and out of line of fire at all times. Wavebreaker is a special but it is also a life saver for Glowfly waves, it's wise to use 1 if not both uses of it during this wave. Killer Wail and Triple Ink Strike are amazing at taking out flyfish and sting rays, it's good to use them when you're team is overwhelmed by enemies attacking near the shore like that. Now I did list out a lot. These are all good roles but the examples maybe off because I'm good at the game but not "that" good and my understanding of some weapons maybe off. Use this list as a flexible guide. Because this game doesn't use voice chat it is insanely hard to communicate your roles and intentions as well as some players not knowing their role and you have to switch up your strategy, or for instance you get multiple attackers and they may switch to hunter roles because of that.
Copy pasting this from another comment. Anyway your advice was really good and if I may add as I said before, let all the bosses get close to the basket and only go away to get a flyfish, stinger or big shot (especially the first 2 because they’re the most dangerous) because those are always going to be far from the basket, don’t even bother to run all the eggs they drop if there’s too many enemies around. So yeah in short lure every boss you can to basket, go get the flyfish and stingers unless you’re a very slow weapon and that’s it tbh, stay with the team if you think they’re good and you’ll get tons of eggs and rating, currently sitting at 400 rating with 144 eggs record.
This helps a lot. I feel like I struggle sometimes because I have a weaker weapon and blame it on the game giving be bad rng. Knowing my role and focusing on it will make the game a lot more fun instead of frustrating. Thank you!
BIG RUN!!!! Can't wait to meet Horrorboros and get lots of eggs. If the Nor'easter happening this weekend in Maine knocks out our internet or power I will cry. Thanks for the tips, have fun!
Another quick tip about running eggs is that sometimes the snatchers will actually help you out. For example, you can see that the ones at 4:50 and flying towards the egg basket, and so the most ink-efficient way of getting those eggs in is to let the snatchers carry them for you, before shooting them once they're right above the basket. Far easier than throwing them one by one!
1: Lure bosses 2: Lure bosses 3: Lure bosses Probably the best advice I can give, everything except big shots, flyfish and stingers can and should be lured. Additionally, use specials to clear the basket or annoying to kill bosses if needed, even in earlier rounds!
This map is INCREDIBLY small compared to wahoo world, I feel that the top 5% threshold will be a bit lower because you can easily be flooded by cohocks and steel eels if you don’t take care of them efficiently. I hope that 144 is enough to make the cut
@@slantedhorizon1021 True, but with how small the map is, it makes it much easier to get absolutely swarmed by those dumb fish, and thus, much harder to get eggs. I wouldn't actually be too surprised if the top 50% are those who had 80 or 90. I'll be amazed if the top 5% are about where they were before.
@@oceant1457 I'm just amazed at it. 141+??? How the heck could ANYONE get that many eggs on such a small, overcrowded map like Inkblot? I just don't understand!
It actually doesn't cost the same amount of ink to throw an egg as a bomb does. While you still have to have enough ink for a bomb in the tank, it only consumes ~half that amount.
Oh right, an extra tip as this big run is happening y’all. Throw your golden eggs at the king’s bomb since it both damages the king and the bombs ink damage. ❤
I let slammers live more often than not. They're perfect lure finishers and they instantly splat ANYTHING with a hitbox under them when they fall, even a steelhead not charging a bomb, so during the first waves they're extremely useful! Camp them as long as possible without enemies running out! As soon as there are no more boss salmonids near i take the slammers down as well, otherwise they're just spawners.
That rank up thing would be cool if me and my friend duo queueing in big run didn't get the worst teammates and worst weapons causing us to lose 6 games in a row at wave 1 going from Eggsecutive VP to profreshional 2 in the span of 20 minutes (we just got to that rank) Top 10 things to do as soon as you reach E.VP 1. get out

My advice is to just skip the next shift after an especially good rotation (grizzco weapons, dynamo roller, explosher etc) as these tend to get people into higher ranks then they're actually suited for. Even if you're really really good at SR lower profresh is hell
Just had several runs where people go to the other side of the map to meet the salmonids at spawn.. not blocking drizzlers... not throwing an egg out of a corner and grabbing another :/ But I gotta admit, I still run out of ink too often. It annoys me endlessly though that salmonids seem to be able to jump on walls during this big run. I've seen it happen several times! Even had a big regular salmonid push me off a Fish Stick pole. Ridiculous D:
Fun tip: You can use Slammin lids on enemies like Steel Eels and Steel Heads. I think I was able to use it on Flyfish, but try it out if you’re willing to. It’s an obviously risky move but some moves like that can help you and your team survive a bit longer and takes weight off of your team as well. Sometimes if there are two Slammins next to each other, you can hop on one, then shoot both down, but make sure you get to the next slammin before you lick the last shot on the first one you were on, then quickly kill the second. Also, Explosher works effectively on Flyfish. Just adding this one because not everyone knows.
