I cannot thank you enough. Our recliner sectional seat movement ceased working after less than 2 years. I stopped by Rooms2Go to facilitate a repair call. I left voicemail then later text message to the repairman and never received any follow-up. We had not purchased the extended warranty and knew it would be an out-of- pocket repair. After many frustrating weeks, I found his video from you and your troubleshooting advice led to success. The power led would pulsate green until I disconnected the recliner seat back and footrest switch. Solid green when Switch was unplugged. Another telltale was the USB charge ports had ceased working. Ordered a new switch from Amazon. The button arrows were not exactly the same, but after installing the new $36.00 switch, everything worked good as new. Probably saved me at least a $150 service call plus the cost of parts. Glad the Rooms2Go guy never called me back. Thanks to you taking your time to record and post a very good video 👍!
Great to hear! I remember thinking it was going to be a costly repair so I was quite happy to fix it myself and so cheaply. It’s what inspired me to start my little channel. Thanks for the message!
Thank you for doing this video. I was able to find the switch on ebay, cheaper than Amazon. It was the exact replacement, and my recliner is working again!
Thank you sir! That’s the IDENTICAL SWITCH I NEED. IVE WATCHED VIDEOS BUT FOR THE ROUND ONES & did all the tests of power to recliner & my NEW BATTERY & OLD ARE GOOD 👍
Great! When my chair broke I was so annoyed that I would have to pay a lot to get it fixed. So, when I solved it with this easy switch replacement, I really wanted to share it. Glad it helped you.
I researched & the MOTORS ARE OVER $300 bucks & one TECH said…intricate to install per model of the recliner!!! These sofa & recliners are soooo Expensive lol 😂. Next time, I’ll get an OTTOMAN for DA KING 🤴 LOL 😝. Again, thank you. ( btw, was a computer custom design tech & electronics comes easy for me…it’s called patience & thinking the way machines communicate 😅😂!)
Glad to hear it helped. I ordered my part from them and watched the tracking as it came from the center of China all the way to my house in southern California. I was worried because I had initially put in the wrong shipping address. But, I emailed them and they fixed it with no hassle and fast too.
@@ThingsEvenICanDo All fixed & working now thank you - having watched your video I was able to remove the switch where I found one of the wires had come away from its soldered connection point on the switch & so I was able to resolder and make good the joint!
Hello and thanks for helping all us who try to do this at home. Early in your video you show checking the on/off power button on the electric recliner. That is out of service on my sofa-I think-(the light is red when power connected but it doesn't activate the motor) and I need to replace that part-I can't for the life of me find it on the 'net-can you name it for me? I've gotten the actuator motor and the 2 button switch but it still didn't work-it has to be in that plug in piece doesn't it?
yes. I'm calling that piece the "2 button switch", it's the round thing on the side of the couch that makes it go up and down but it didn't work. i also replaced the motor I think its called the actuator. It didn't work- Then I looked at the place on the sofa where you plug the power cord. It will receive a power cord with a red light that shows when the power is switched on. I removed that along with the small black box and the wire that goes out the other end of the small black box and plugs into something that fits it. Anyway all I can do now is replace the third piece I'm calling the power switch (maybe it's a transformer or something I don't know. I have pics of it if that would help but in your video where you say to check if the power is on-THAT's the piece I need to replace-it's the last thing that apparently was affected by the lightening strike that did all this. I have definitely done this the longest and hardest way and it's still not over. @@ThingsEvenICanDo
@@kaynineinterest What kind of chair/sofa do you have? Is there more than one recliner? If so, I would suggest troubleshooting by moving a known functioning transformer (the rectangular box the power feeds into) with the suspected bad unit. Based on how you describe things, it does seem like that is the only thing left to replace. Feel free to send pictures to thingsevenicando@gmail.com It might help me to see what you're dealing with.
Is it possible to add a remote to my recliner chair? I don’t know the model number or maker we got it at garage sale. The chair works, except for the head rest mechanism.
Hi my recliner stopped working in an open position so I really need to fix it lol. The light on the transformer is on, even with all the cables connected. I unplugged them and plug them all back, still not working, and the light on the transformer is still on. Is it still possible for the issue to be the switch? Or any other recommendations. Thank you!
Very hard to say. My guess is that it’s not the switch but I’d still try replacing it as a test. Buy one that you can return easily if it doesn’t solve the issue. Unfortunately, if it’s not the switch it might be the motor.
@@ThingsEvenICanDo thank you for your response, Let me give you an update. Since I have a sectional with 3 power recliner seats, I put 2 back to back (the one not working with a working one) and I connected the working switch to the non-working chair and wooohooo it worked! So yes it is the switch. I am going to order one and replace it myself :) thank you!! But for now I am happy I was able to close the chair using the other chair switch. Thanks again!

@@noemifitzpatrick6039 Yikes. I'm so glad it was just a switch and not the motor. I need my footrest!!!!!
The video was so helpful. Life easy supply is so underrated because of unpopularity and low usage

Fantastic! I didn't know where to even begin poking around to fix this, as in what's movable without breaking it?
Were you able to get it working?
Thank you, an excellent video indeed! I will now endeavour to fix my faulty switch wish me luck😉👀
Good luck! I’m sure you will succeed!

Great. I love hearing stories like that!
Thanks for the video
I think the extra wire is to jump to the other recliner vs using 2 outlet plugs
Thanks again, very helpful
Interesting. It would be nice if I didn’t have two plugs. I don’t like taking up all those slots. For my set, I used 4 outlets.
excellent video. Appreciate the detail. Good Job.
Thanks for watching!
THis was helpful! Thank you!

Everything’s possible, i suppose, but I’m not sure of what it would take to do it.

If u can do it so can I 😂❤
Yup. I’m only one step above bumbler. You should have no trouble!
Does anyone else have the same exact problem with their control panel?
I’ve had it with both left and right arms of my sofa.
Aww so terrible, this is so sweet
Thank you
