Genuine question here what is the purpose of such a long barrel, better accuracy?

It’s supposed to be better for accuracy and competition shooting but I’m not sure when it gets to be too long. I know lots of people run a Glock 34 which is shorter than this

Love mine, hitting the A zone at 25 yards was EZ with this. I swapped out the extended slide and magazine catch though, original feels better imo.
