I think brutus is a perfect example of how well a higher budget can work so well for very detailed characters, hopefully Hasbro can make better use of budget in the future for older media
I'm glad these figures look great, as we know Hasbro has to support the new series. The people who will enjoy this show absolutely deserves their figures. The only thing that kind of stings is looking at the love, care, effort, and ultimately the clear, blatant higher budget that these figures got. Just look at little Ani coming with one accessory, a backpack with barely any detail. Excellent review, Luke!
@@MonarchLMC that's because they know prequel fans are rabid enough that they'll buy anything whereas there's a decent chance (no offence to anyone who ends up liking this show) that this show isn't gonna be all that popular so they figured why not put some effort in to try and entice people who'll just buy anything star wars. you guys should be happy though, at least the prequels are getting figures, meanwhile i haven't bought any black series in forever because they basically forgot about the sequels
Other than Brutus, the wave is a great example of what killing a line looks like. If we’re going to get small characters at a $20-25 price range, AT LEAST cram a bunch of random Star Wars (world building) accessories that can be reused for little to no extra costs in other figures. That could easily be the difference in a collector passing or buying for parts.
You pay for the license and get a character in the scale you're looking for. You don't pay for a certain weight of plastic. What's more, these figurines come with a host of accessories. According to me, there is really little to complain about in this wave.
@ unfortunately your thought is not what the majority of collectors share, which is why the secondary Black Series market is so cheap. Bad shows will devour potential sells no matter how good a figure is sculpted, but it’s possible to pad those hits by adding good accessories.
As of now, Brutus is the only one I'm thinking about getting in the near future. Awesome design, awesome accessories, and what an awesome and intimidating face!!!!!!
I bought Neel, Brutus, and Jod. I’m happy with them all. Nod’s jacket does limit some posing I wanted. Neel’s ankles are stubborn. Brutus is awesome. Alien pirates have been a big want since Hondo. Please more! I get the other three kids later.
4:10 "Check the point before you bring it home". LOL, where are you buying figures at brick and mortar in 2024 where you'll find enough figures to make that kind of comparison? That said, it was surreal to pop into my local, small Wal-mart on Friday and find a case and a half. I can't remember the last time I bought a full wave of any Star Wars series at brick and mortar. It might have been the inaugural Black Series wave in 2013.
It's a shame what they have done with KB, she wears her visor most of the time not on her eyes ... that means, if the show fails we will never get a better Black Series figure of KB for many years again. :( I'm also surprised that Neels head was painted blue ...
Great video luke! Since the new revenge of the sith Sidious came out that would be cool if you did a 3d model for Sidious’s office window or something cool like that.
They should put 'Wim' and 'Neel' together in one pack, and 'Fern' and 'KB' together in another, because in the show they're best friends (boys with each other, girls with each other). Still cool though. Brutus was Jod's 1st mate when Jod was (obviously) Captain Silvo. Now Brutus presumably is the captain of that crew (Silvo/Jod was mutinied against).
I'm very on the fence, just in terms of not knowing what the show will be like. There is a severe lack of kids in the form of Star Wars figures, and even if the show is bad I might pick one up. I'm going for a scene that just looks like an active world in Star Wars, so I want a good variety. (So Cantina adjacent, but meant to look like it's outside - similar to Batuu's vibe)
I'm not finding these in supply at any retail store near me! Just a few scraps left at like 2 Walmarts. I thought they would pegwarm for at least enough time for me to grab them.
There are still 2 to 4 full pegs of Acolyte figures at a few stores here in Charleston, SC. Full price too. Usually a peg of that last Vader as well. Less General Lando though.
Just wondering, it's your name actually Luke? Because that's mine as well. If so we're you named after Luke Skywalker? Because I was born before Star Wars but everyone always asked me that growing up. I was actually named after the Paul Newman movie, Cool Hand Luke.
Mr. Landspeeder Luke, can you tell me if their are any SH Figuarts Marvel and Star Wars figures in TC’s Rockets? And how much would a black series cost? A single figure. Thank you.
Interesting set of figs. Hasbro clearly put in a lot of effort with these. It'd be hreat to see that with other figs. I'm not seeing Jude Law's face, with his figure. The hits of colour make a pleasant change to the usual drab colour palette of Star Wars.
1:20 whilst he wouldn't fit into a purely OT cantina display, I know that at least for my cantina I vary up the characters fairly often, pretty much any bounty hunter/pirate type fits pretty well, anyone from Q9-0 to Jaxxon. Whilst I understand them making the main group of what I assume is the titular Skeleton Crew, I hope they make more pirates from the show, at least the four that they showed off at that convention a while back. All that being said it is crazy to me that Brutus is my most anticipated release in the line, and that's including the Jedi reveals from a few weeks ago, keeping my fingers crossed he releases here in the UK before the end of the year.
These figures look great! And that's great, because great figures are great. Great. But... I think I'm passing on these (wolf man excluded) for the time being. Once the show is done, if I like the characters, I'll reconsider picking them up. But I have too many shelves of Star Wars characters to make space for something I may or may not like. Side note: When Watto comes to TBS, he better get this much love! (unlikely, I know, but...🤞🤞🤞)
...is it wrong to say I'm only buying the Skeleton Crew kids so I can steal their backpacks for my Marvel Legends Shelf? It's all Spider-Men and all the Spideys I designate as "School/Commute" looks kinda need the backpacks.
Get them when they approach clearance. They’ll be around 19-16 dollars(the price of a VC figure). The Wolf character deserves his full price and will sell quick.
My super niche Star Wars Beef, that goes back to the prequels: bad/obvious naming conventions (REALLY? AT-ATin? can we just not??), names being obvious anagrams of something which sound crap and make the creative process obvious (see also bad guy names, Especially Darth BAD WORD MINUS OR PLUS A SYLLABLE), but most of all: STOP MAKING ALIENS THAT ARE REALLY LIKE ANOTHER SPECIES, no george there shouldn't be that weird dwarf guy with yoda ears in the prequels, no there shouldn't be TWO blue elephantine alien species, just make it THAT pre-existing species. The tiny feet on Neel also annoy me as a creature design. It's bulky in the head and hands but has perfect little human child feet? There's something about all these creative aspects that is lazy to me and takes me out of the "reality" by making me aware of the creative process. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
I think brutus is a perfect example of how well a higher budget can work so well for very detailed characters, hopefully Hasbro can make better use of budget in the future for older media
Yeah I have no interest in this show or its characters but definitely getting the wolf guy
@@Gamecubegal that is the general consensus from most of us lol
I’ll pick up the aliens. If the show blows me away, I’ll pick up the humans.

We'll be forever doomed to high quality new media and cost cutting prequel figures 😭

Thumbs Up for the Anakin cameo!

The kids should come in one full pack tbh
I have Brutus and omg is so cool, I can't wait to have all of them... I need every alien pirate to!
You can see KB with a normal eyes under the goggle when the scene she “switch on” and off her goggle in the first trailer.
Oh duh. Haha thank you
It's a shame what they have done with KB, she wears her visor most of the time not on her eyes ... that means, if the show fails we will never get a better Black Series figure of KB for many years again. :(

I'm wondering if the Neel character is of the same species as the keyboardist in the Max Rebo Band from Return of the Jedi.
Neel best.
Great video luke! Since the new revenge of the sith Sidious came out that would be cool if you did a 3d model for Sidious’s office window or something cool like that.
I ordered all six, I gotta have all the new sculps!

I'm going to want two or three of the KB so I can turn them into child Mandalorian. Thank you for doing this review
After seeing the show I will definitely pick them up later on. The characters seem cool so far.
I got my wave of skeleton crew figures today and my Fern figure actually says (AT ATTIN) on the box
NEEL best of the best.
I rather see Hasbro make Terminator figures of the T-800 Endoskeleton, Eiko, and Misaki over skeleton crew.
Lots of great fodder there, especially with Brutus
My Fern figure has At Atin on it
what a great show, i like buy the figures now. Hasbro should really paint KB's eyes :(
Both Skeleton Crew and Acolyte figures are "oddly" really good. I put these in my Cantina because what bar doesn't have children running around in it?
A well-run bar for one
I have them all its ok but Id like to see Hasbto make more pirates
I totally bought that wolf dude for my cantina. Couldn't care less about the show :)
I need Neel
I see these being way under ordered. All are available at GameStop
NEED a figure of the droid, SM33!
It’s coming!
@ SWEET!

What a great looking set of figures! Thanks for showcasing them. I WANT!
When you pulled off the visor, I imagined the character screaming! 🙀😁
Epic
Bummer KB's eyes are not painted. She doesn't always have the eyepiece down. We see her entire face in several scenes.
I will absolutely pick up Brutus. If I like the show I’ll pick up the rest
Cool review of the skeleton crew figs,I want Neil & Brutus right now lol 😊🤘
There are still 2 to 4 full pegs of Acolyte figures at a few stores here in Charleston, SC. Full price too. Usually a peg of that last Vader as well.
Less General Lando though.
Figures actually look good? Excited for the show to come out.
Neel and Brutus are the best for me!!! XD
Jude Laws character kind of looks like gigolo Joe ( his character from AI )
Just wondering, it's your name actually Luke? Because that's mine as well.
If so we're you named after Luke Skywalker? Because I was born before Star Wars but everyone always asked me that growing up.

The Jude Law figure I saw in GameStop looked terrible.
I’m hoping we get Vane to go along with Brutus!
the only one I care is Brutus
I might be tempted by these. They look pretty decent.
6:10 "Where we're going, we won't need eyes to see"
Those will be massive pegwarmer like ML Eternals.
Except for brutus. Also those eternals peg warmed because theyre butt ugly and lame, these all have leagues more visual interest

She lifts the eye thug up in one of the trailers/clips.
Jude Law’s character is a little too much like Star Lord
Unfortunately great 😅

Ok, this wave has me wanting Hasbro to take a crack at the 'Alien' license at some point.
I really hope this show is good.

all boring design, except the elephant

Coming soon to a Ross-con and Ollie's-con near you.
More good figures based on what is likely to be more trash Star Wars
Oh no... Another trash that will stay on the shelf forever
M to the E to the H
toys were so amazing and of high quality when i was a kid... this is just plastic trash..
Terrible characters, no love for establised ones. Black Series Good Bye.
They literally are using 4 spots to redo a new hope figures rn 😭😭 as if half the ot stuff doesn’t peg wake now
Hey dboot… your comment is dumb.
LMFAO! Found the shill's youtube page
