This guy is what TBS should always be exceptional and surprised he wasn't designated a deluxe with all the paint and weapons. Then they announce Kelnaca and want deluxe pricing for a larger main line figure that offers less than Brutus.
@@RoboDontKnow True can't disagree but back in the day costs were factored into the line for varying size figures so Yoda was same price as Chewie, now it just feels like petty greed but what can I say? Im still buying $30 plastic one character at a time
I'm glad Neel exists as an action figure. We never get body types like this for customs and just stock, he's just adorable for any Star Wars Aliens shelf. Brutus looks very good to be next to Alien Bounty Hunters like Cad Bane or Bossk. Will definitely hunt these down.
these are such pure star wars desgins i love them regardless if i watch the show these figures just have that star wars aura ive been needing in star wars for a while
I made exactly the same buying decision! I snagged these two yesterday, before watching your video. Saw them on the shelf at GameStop and I thought they really popped together. Great reviews btw 😊
“And then here’s Neel next to the Hasbro Star Wars Black Series Max Rebo…” I just about died on that clip lmao. We definitely need to get a Max! So far I’m liking Skeleton Crew! I pre-ordered the kids and Jod from Amazon when they were only $20 a piece, so once they come in next week or so, that’ll be a nice discount. Brutus is in my PoL that is currently shipping from BBTS. Can’t wait for him! Great review as always, Robo!
Skeleton Crew’s first two episodes were nothing short of amazing. Let’s hope the rest of the series maintains this level of quality visuals, storytelling, and characterization.
The fact that apparently neither of these are the blue elephant or wolfman species that we're familiar with irks me. Don't get me wrong, I'm always excited for more aliens, it's just a really weird choice to me no matter how I look at it. Great video, Robo!
Look at the real world to ease your mind. Wolves and Coyotes looks very similar, but they're not the same. For that matter, chimps and humans would look pretty similar to an outsider looking in. Why be annoyed that two different species look similar? There are more than few examples of exactly like that in real life.
@Bad_Wolf_Media you're not wrong, but in a franchise packed to the BRIM with species, it would be nice to get SOME overlap that doesn't consistently and constantly throw more stuff at the wall. Star trek and the species of the week made sense. Most of their galaxy was unexplored and most species were planet locked. Star wars is almost entirely interstellar. There should be more overlap. Not to the holy quartet of star trek levels, but don't let great designs languish in obscurity.
Brutus is a Shistavanen, which is the wolf humanoid we’re familiar with from ANH & the Tartakovsky Clone Wars Microseries. Neel being a new species is fine! There are several elephantine species in the GFFA, and not all are configured like hand-walking Ortolans (all Neel’s details are wildly different from them, too, aside from “blue”)
Captain Brutus probably the most worth black series figure. A figure with 5 weapons is unheard of in black series especially ones with plenty of paint detail. I don’t collect character specific characters but I might make an exception with this one
I barely found your channel 😭 I didnt know you split from Fwoosh but im happy to find a years worth of content and continue to follow i love uour videks
These 2 figures are definitely in the Top 5 of the best Star Wars Black Series figures this year! They are perfect for world building in your collection!!! In various themes!!! :)
Yeah, same here. I love the show & will definitely be getting all the figs now (more money). 🙂 Beautifully designed and executed figures! So glad they didn't go with the candy-colored Vespas from BOBF!
3:38 ivory colour on the elephant character, I see what you did there Robo Words can't express how excited I am for Brutus, for some reason I'm more excited for him than I am any of the other recently announced figures for next year. He just fits my favourite corner of the universe, that dingy grungy cantina bounty hunter underworld type vibe is all throughout on him. Best case scenario it's a great figure of what turns out to be a solid character, worst case scenario it's still a great figure who can fit in just about anywhere on my shelf. Not sure when they release here in the UK, they're listed on Amazon for mid-December so I hope they aren't pushed back, would love if he releases here before the year is out.
@@RoboDontKnow Oh it's completely fair I have that same thing with any cold/freeze themed comic character, I can't help it but most of them are cool characters so I quite often say that about them, regardless of that also being their power/gimmick. Also after having now watched the first two episodes of Skeleton Crew and seeing the figures all now up on UK Pulse today I need every single pirate from that series, I don't care how long it takes or how many unique alien molds it takes.
I’m gonna watch tonight. Yesterday was about my son and his B-day. Oh I bought these as soon as I could. Brutus is in my top five for Black Series. Just a wonderful action figure. I hope he’s great in the show. I’m sure he will be. Charm and menace that’s what I see. You can’t be a leader without some moxie. Hondo was quite the punk in Clone Wars. He got the better of many. I anticipate another good Star Wars pirate in Brutus. You are absolutely hilariously mean teasing the Basement boys with that Rebo comparison. Funny!
Having watched the first two episodes and loving them, I really hope this show hits hard. It is a treasure trove of character designs that need figures. Neel is especially very well done, as he should be given that he is very prevalent on screen. After watching, his species definitely feels different from Max Rebo. Really looking forward to the next episodes. I haven't liked a Star Wars show this much since Mando season 2!
Ngl I expected this show to be bad and was planning on skipping these guys, but man those first two episodes were great. I low key think it's the most fun live action Star Wars has been in a long time. So I'm gonna have to pick up the whole set
...Surprising lack of Shistavanen characters in Star Wars with how much Dave Filoni loves his wolves, tbh I think most of us can agree Cap'n Brutus is the one figure we'll all pickup regardless of the show or not. Looks great!
Thanks for explaining what a flashlight is for the kids, Robo. My nephew and his friends all had no idea. They just turn on their fancy night vision app in their brainchips when they need a light these days. Pfft. Kids!
Great review Robo! While the figures aren’t really for me I’m glad to see people liking the show and I’m especially glad to see the figures look very good and high quality for those who do want them! - MrCawfee
The show looks very similar to the Clone Wars episodes about the Younglings going to Ilum to find the crystals for their lightsabers and getting attacked by pirates on their way back.
Skeleton crew looks great, I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes. Felt more Star Trek Prodigy than Goonies to me. Sofar, I've only picked up Brutus, but if Hasbro makes SM-33, I'll get em.
Kinda funny how you joked about Neel being a secret Sith Lord, and then his first appearance in the show has him acting as one in his and Wim's make-believe Star Wars battle.
I bet there's gonna be a twist at the end of the show, where Neel is revealed to be an adult, and his species is natrully short, so he was always an evil pirate looking for the treasure and using the kids to get to it. Or something like that
hopefully we getting a jack russel legend this year coming up .... all the leaks point in that direction. fingers crossed is a comic version for me but who knows
I'll admit I don't usually watch your Star wars reviews, not my cup of tea. But these two are interesting. Great review as always I'm sold ! when they're on sale at least 😅
Brutus' figure is pretty neat, shame he did nothing or worth so far in the show, I hope he gets at least one great scene because that's one of the most interesting designs in years.
I'm thinking an action figure based on an accurate interpretation of Max Reebo's species could possibly be hard to sell, since most people who grew up on the EU fiction and the Kenner toys, aren't aware that those interpretations were inaccurate to the intended design of the suit, and the alien species as a whole. Max's species only has two limbs, not four -- something that the Disney canon has (mostly) rectified since. *FOR CONTEXT:* The Kenner designers that worked on the original ROTJ toys misinterpreted Max Reebo as being fully humanoid in design, with the rest of his body obscured from view inside a hollow, donut-shaped organ. The original suit for the movie, however, was designed to have Max sitting on a cushion in the center of a fully level organ, playing the keys with his feet. Because of the way the actor wore the suit, what was supposed to be Max's hips, ended up looking more like shoulders, due to the suit contorting to the actor's shoulders.
How does Neel get his shirt on? That big noggin aint fittin in that tiny neck hole without some zippers/buttons/velcro. Or head removal. I can see him being sought after for school aged kid customs like young Franklin. Or a cheaper Chucky. President Gary Coleman on Buck Rogers? Brutus is gonna have some heat, being a werewolf (aware wolf?) that can fit into many lines. I’d rank him above Jude Law as THE figure to get out of this line that is going directly to Ross/Ollies/Planet Overstock, just like The Acolyte wave. Ooh! Jude Law + Neel = excellent start to A.I. customs? Anyone doing Baby HJO heads? Or pair him with Pulp Fiction Bruce for Sixth Sense customs! Also, now I want WWDITS figures with TOPHER!! …which Brutus would also fit in with as one of the Puppies! See? It all comes together in the end! (I don’t care where you come, as long as you lick it up!)
The show was ok. Just ok. The second episode was better than the first one, I would say. The first one went too out of it's way to be...establishy Yes I know that's not a word, nor are you 100% liquid. *tips hat*
Brutus is now one of my favorite Star wars figures. I got mine last week and cant stop geeking on how good he looks
This guy is what TBS should always be exceptional and surprised he wasn't designated a deluxe with all the paint and weapons. Then they announce Kelnaca and want deluxe pricing for a larger main line figure that offers less than Brutus.
But still uses more plastic because of how much bigger Kelnacca is compared to Brutus.

I only want Neel so I can make him into an Elephant Mario figure lol

yeah but people really hate that because they say it makes the franchise seem small so
or they'll call it loser nostalgia bait
Really enjoyed the premier! Something super fresh for Star Wars
I lost it when space Dumbo ignited the lightsaber. 🤣
Darth Neel does have a nice ring to it, he'll make those Jedi kneel.

I was lucky to fin Brutus on the sleeves at my local game stop
The show looks very similar to the Clone Wars episodes about the Younglings going to Ilum to find the crystals for their lightsabers and getting attacked by pirates on their way back.
Neel is the goat

Man that book of Robo Duno has a lot of chapters
A Bad@$$ space werewolf with a sick outfit and a bunch of blasters???? Heck yeah I'm sold!!!!

i need the Skeleton droid figures
Captain Brutus is the same race (Shistavanen) as the "werewolf" guy (Lak Sivrak) from the cantina scene in the original cut of A New Hope
And if they release a flashlight based on the ones from the show like they did with Stranger Things, I'm getting it!
Kinda funny how you joked about Neel being a secret Sith Lord, and then his first appearance in the show has him acting as one in his and Wim's make-believe Star Wars battle.
neel feels more like a space womble than anything else

Guessing Clone Wars mustard is Dijon and Skeleton Crew is regular mustard???
I want the werewolf
What was more frightening to a kid in the 80s: a Teddy Ruxpin or a My Buddy?
somehow a good headsculpt for a Werewolf by Night figure
hopefully we getting a jack russel legend this year coming up .... all the leaks point in that direction. fingers crossed is a comic version for me but who knows
Someone out there gonna do a old man hawkeye headswap with that wolf pirate.
Think that head would be too big.
Neel looks like stewie
Neel’s so small his elbow swivel is a bicep swivel
Bread and butter for breakfast.
It looks perferct for a forbush man custom, idk
Honestly the wolf guy kinda looks like a Power Rangers Villain
Could use Neel to make a little Leech.
I think that's too stout but that's the exact plan I have for one of the other kids.
@@RoboDontKnowI used Kuiil to make one before and did a little bit of changing to his head for Ape.

If you have a Stop-motion moble app, he'd be a good puppet,
I feel like Brutus's legs are wrong. Aren't shistavanens supposed to have like dogs back legs
I don't know if that's canon or not, did we ever see Sivrak's legs in any media or was it just the 3.75 figure?
Haha you will like the show and grab the rest haha :D
All these kid figures and there is still no kid Leia from Obi-Wan...
If you're going to do a matt spray on dumbo-boy, I hope you add gloss varnish to his eyes...
Wonder if the little guy could be an ugnaught body
Is this show gonna be like space goonies or something?
