    Thank you so much, I had no idea how to get the panel off to clean filter. I also needed the pliers to undo the filter. Job done. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the vid. Just fixed my hotpoint aqualtis doing this after getting the F05 error code. I found hair bobbles, hair clips, coins, a pencil and lots of grass blocking my filter. Now the machine works great.

    Brilliantly helpful. I too live in a hard water area and struggled to get the cover off. I initially worried I may break it. Thank you so much! All rubbish removed.

    Thanks so much for posting this! It has just helped me in fixing my washing machine. There was a sock stuck in the filter!

    Hi Andy. We used to live in a hard water area (Sutton Coldfield) and we installed on the water riser as it came into the house an inline ceramic magnet 'limefighter' accessory. This was advised by the company replacing out central heating system. We were there for over thirty years and we never even got any limescale in the kettle, so I'm pretty sure they're effective. Liff do one, which you can get from Screwfix or Amazon, and I wouldn't be without one. If you do install one I'd be very interested to see and hear how effective you find it.

      Hi Rob, this is interesting as I've seen these lime fighter units that use magnets to suspend the limescale. I'm dubious bit might give it a go and post back in a future video.
      Thanks for the info

    Thank you for the answer. I managed to remove the filter with a patent (with many emotions, recognize), it was blocked by 2 color capture napkins ...

    • @Shazzkid
      @Shazzkid 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      How does that even happen, you put in the colour catcher before the wash, then after the sheet has gone, and what? You think it just vanished? At that point you should realise that it's somewhere in the machine where it shouldn't be and you should find it and remove it before doing another wash.

    Thank you Andy. Gonna' try this. Bit apprehensive as the cap is EXTREMELY difficult to turn. So much so, that the amount of torque I'm having to use could break the cap. :-/

    • @junkendriven
      @junkendriven  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree with you there, you'll see in the video I end up using a pair of wide-nose pliers to turn mine as I needed a lot of force too. I persisted slowly, make sure you even the force out over the plastic tabs as much as you can. Good luck!

    My filter snapped. Covered it in superglue and hoping i can get enough of a grip on it to open it. This is a great video though. Im thinking my plastic was a bit weathered

    Hi, I’ve got the same washer/dryer and I’m having problems with black marks on my white laundry. Could it be caused by the filter? And if I followed this video could it resolve it? I’ve done a lot of researching on google and the other thing mentioned was about oil stains and possibly the bearings, however my machine isn’t making any noises and is running perfectly fine apart from every now and then I get black marks on my whites.

    • @junkendriven
      @junkendriven  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I doubt this filter would cause black marks as it's a long way from the drum itself (pipes connect the drum drain to the filter)
      So black marks must be something else

      Andy Brown thank you. I bought two different cleaners for the machine & cleaned it out twice & just let it run through a 90 wash & so far & fingers crossed it seems to have worked. Thanks for the reply 👍

    Hi when I unscrew it a lot of smelly water came out, i kept emptying my container but more got flooded on the floor. Why does this mean?

    • @junkendriven
      @junkendriven  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably lots of water built up in the drum and pipes. Keep draining and once drained clean/flush it out as best as you can.

    Mine is too tight to open is there an alternative

    • @junkendriven
      @junkendriven  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately not. Yes they are very tight, almost at the point of feeling like it snaps... Perhaps try spraying with a silicone/lubricant to penetrate it.

  • @rosevenece476
    @rosevenece476 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can not do it . It is very hard. I can not unscrew the filter. he's stuck. I'm afraid of breaking.

    • @junkendriven
      @junkendriven  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi guys, unfortunately not an easy solution. I did have to use a lot more force than I wanted at the risk of snapping the plastic. Used a pair of thick-ended pliers to help, maybe some silicone lubricant to penetrate and help.
