Wow, you sold me. I was undecided... after watching your video I bought it on Amazon for $329 and it will be delivered tomorrow. Great tutorial. You gave lots of information that was a pleasure to watch. Thank you.
That make me so happy! Thank you so much for taking your time sharing! And welcome to my channel! I hope you will find a lots of nice and useful videos here 😃👍
This is a perfect instructional video! I loved how you also included your settings preferences, so not only did I learn how to use the DJI Mic but I also learned what a professional's preferences are!
Thank you for such explanation I ever seen to explain wireless mic . I watched over 20 video about DJI wireless mic and no one explained as much as you did. Thanks for that. I love your video . Good luck.
Great video! Like I mentioned earlier, I returned my Rode 2 that I JUS received YESTERDAY, mind you, lol. I keep seeing everyone use these DJI mic system. It looks like it'll be worth the price difference!
The DJI Mic has to me been the most obvious choice for the most people. Don’t forget to check my other video comparing the DJI Mic to Hollyland Lark Max. It’s worth the time..
Really nice, thorough video. I love mine. Just updated (2023.01.04) them to v02.00.72.87. Added auto power of feature for receiver. The receiver will power off automatically if disconnected from transmitter for more than 30 minutes. Added LED off option for transmitter. Go to TX Settings > LED Brightness > Off to turn off the transmitter LED and reduce the light affect during recording. Fixed issue: transmitter audio data was occasionally lost when recording for a long time.
I really appreciate all the work, skill, and thought that went into this video. I learned some new things about my DJI mic. I love this thing. It's awesome! Thank you so much for the video! You did a fantastic job!
Nice thanks for this! Love the recording start/stop by using the link button when the receiver is connected to an iPhone! I do in-car driving and use my iPhone to record video. I attach my iPhone to the passenger side inside windshield and have to reach over the vehicle (or climb over the centre console) to start my iPhone video recording. This can be a PITA. So having the transmitter attached to me while I am driving and using the Link button to turn on/off recording on the iPhone, is brilliant! A small but important item for me. I've been using the RODE Wireless Go II system for a few years now, however don't like the fact that I can't see the screen of the Receiver when I am recording myself facing the camera, like in car reviews, interviews, etc. Always having to double check if it is on, recording, etc., is bothersome. Plus sometimes the connection fails or drops and I am not aware until after in post, when sound is lost. Yes I should have backups on but sometimes I forget to do that. Like that the DJI makes this whole workflow a bit easier for forgetful folks like me!
Thank you for this informative video. I found out that if the DJI mic receiver is inserted into the lighting port of the iPhone, the recorded audio cannot be heard from the iPhone speaker unless you remove the receiver. However, if you pair Bluetooth headphones or AirPods to your iPhone, you can now listen to your recorded audio without removing the DJI mic receiver.
Oh wow, I didn’t know it could be used as an external mic for the pc!!! That’s so awesome! That means I can open my Reaper or Pro Tools or Audition, and record straight into it via DJI mic!! AWESOME!!!!
What a great video, I feel confident about a few things now and know that this is the product for me; the charging case is the one! I watched the whole video and did not forward at all. Keep at it, your channel will go beast mode!
Wow! Your video is so much more informative than any other I’ve watched on the DJI mic. The photo and video recording tip using the link button will really help me. Thank you
I've watched a few of these since picking up the DJI MIC, but this was easily the most thorough and straight forward. Thank you for demonstrating each aspect of the menus on the transmitter. Also, thank you for the pro tips about the power button and link button on the transmitters. No more video of me pushing the record button on the phone and then having to edit that out!! You got a like and a subscribe. I'm about to watch your video on Synology NAS Beginners and DJI Mini 3 Pro even though I have neither. :)
Thank you so much. Both for you finding your way here and also for your comment! That was so nice to read! It really means a lot! Welcome back many more times 😃👍
That makes me so happy to hear!!! Will be so cool to see if you think it’s worth a cup of coffee or maybe even two? 😘☕️: geni.us/buymeacoffe Thanks again for watching! 😃👍
Great video. I have a question. I always record just using one transmitter and I use mono. When I go to edit in Final Cut Pro, there are 4 audio tracks for some reason. In order to use audio editing like noise removal and voice isolation, I have to manually disable two of the audio channels in Final Cut Pro, otherwise the editing tools are grayed out. Do you have this problem and is there a way to make the mic not record these extra channels? Thanks.
6:00 - Thanks for letting people know about the Battery life vs RECORD TIME! I was wondering why from the box they said 15.1 hrs then months later of me using it I got 14.3 on Tx 1 and thought the battery inside transmitter one wasn't holding a full charge even though my receiver was saying they're both full. Several DJI forums just went to firmware updates and warranties. - Work Smart
The current firmware update gives you an extra option on the LED brightness. You can now turn them right off so they do not distract if you/the talent are doing a piece to camera.
You did an incredible job with this video. Again, the depth and clarity, thank you. You just got a sub from me. Very well done. Can't wait to watch your other videos!
Thanks so much for helping me fix an issue I had when I accidentally recorded my video in stereo instead of mono mode which had the audio only on one channel. I subscribed and liked the video as well. Thanks again! 😊

Hi. Great video. Really helped me a lot. I bought these a while ago but never really used them. I have a question! Does mono safety work without the receiver?
Great tutorial! I followed along with my own kit and it really helped. I also had been wondering why the Tx gain wasn't on the same screen as the sound meter!
Hi there, thanks a million for this video, like everyone else I think it is absolutely the best out there. I’m curious to know how to increase the gain on the transmitter. The default setting seems to be very low because when I listen to the recording, it sounds very faint.
Thank you so much! You go into the mic settings and there you can increase the gain of the selected mic :) Have you seen my last video that I just posted where I start my hunt for an even better microphone system!?
I ordered a dji wireless mic with 2 transmitters. It has wasted a lot of my time, energy and money too. I connected the receiver to the phone and started 1 to 2 hours of shoot saveral days. But I got completely disappointed when I came to know that the audio got disconnected by itself half way through. I am dam sure that it's not because I didn't connect it properly. In fact I tried to connect it to the phone multiple times yet no positive result. Now I am utterly disappointed with this brand. Having ordered it online, I am completely perplexed. I don’t know what the solution could be. Please let me know if there is something I can do to fix it.
amazing video, which one do you think will be the best regular config for transmiter and receiver, I heard that I should use a high level on the transmiter and a mid-low level on the receiver to avoid a lot of background noise, but just want to check our opinion on it. ( I know we have the 3rd setting there to configure (the device/camera) but we can low that one out as well.
Thank you very much for this excellent tutorial. Superbly clear. I'm curious, though, why you use a lavia/lapel mic plugged into the transmitter rather than using the transmitter directly? Is the sound much better? So far, I've found the DJI mic fine by itself.
Hello dear Mats Thank you for your great video. I watched the whole video but couldn't figure out if you recommend the DJI mic for ambient sound recording? I want to use it to record audio for forest camping videos, not for voice. Thanks for your help
Hi Mats I enjoyed your presentation a lot! Thx 🙏🏻 Very informative and with a nice portion of humor 😁 within it. Keep up the good work please. Are you going to do a follow up, where you actually shows us how to set up the DJI mic both the software settings as Well as the placement of the gear? For example an interview. I notice that the option of turning of the LEDs, has been added to the software 👏👍🏻👌🏻 Kind regards Jan Meiner Denmark
Great video. As other people have pointed out, you covered much more than any video I’ve seen on this product. DJI should in fact provide a scannable link to this video. I completely agree with your criticisms as well. Making Tx adjustments should be much easier. Now, here’s are questions with regards to how you made this video … What software did you use to produce this? I ses that you used trackers at certain points and setting up that in DaVinci Resolve takes a little time. So, I was curious about that. 2) You appear to have used an overhead camera pointing down and it also seems to have a telephoto lens. That leads me to believe it is heavy and that you have a very robust tripod to hold it. Is that the case? The amount of work you have done is noticed and admired. Clean production and high quality. Thank you very much.
Thanks 🙏😃 I use FCPX for all my editing. I did have a Sony A7SIII as overhead camera. Attached with some super clamps and articulated arms to a Auto pole 😁 Watch the very first video on this channel and I think I covered some of it in that video /)
@MK-Creator how do you suggest setting up the DJI Mic with the iPhone 14 pro for a video podcast or interview with two people? Mono, mono S, or stereo, and how would I edit so it sounds good when uploading to TH-cam?
@@FollowMister Hi, You would definitely set it to Stereo so that each person on on there own track. You would only use Mono Safety for a situation where there might be loud sounds. In DR on the Fairlight page, you would copy the audio track to another track. Then, set each track to mono so the L and R are using the same source. Then, you’ll have complete control of each person’s audio.
Hello ! I'm thinking of getting this microphone set, and this video makes everything easy to understand ... 😀in Norway this set is about 3990 nok at the moment ... I just got my Osmo action 3 adventure combo kit, and this set would be great to add ...
So happy that you found your way here! It’s a really microphone set that I’m using literally every day! Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to attend your message 😃👍
Hi there, I just bought this mic and was so happy to try it out - but it seems it won't work with my Samsung.. Do you know an alternative for a Samsung s23 ultra that has the same quality...? Any idea would be greatly appreciated... 🙏
Correct, the compatibility sheet do not list the s23 unfortunately. I would go for the Rode Wireless Go II: geni.us/rode-wireless-go-2 And then the SC16 cable: geni.us/Rode-SC16 I do have that mic as well and it is just fantastic! You have onboard recording etc. But you dont get a charging "box". That's basically the only downside. The links above are affiliate links so I would earn a tiny commission on purchases made via those links..
@@MK-Creator thank you so much! I actually discovered I can still use ot (ignoring the "not supported" message of the system). Wierd, but so happy I can use the dji mic in the end... 😊 Otherwise I'll go for the Rode with your link... Thanks again for your help!
Hello from the US! Great job! Thank you for all your insight. Forgive my ignorance here, I'm new to this. If I buy a kit like this for my insta 360 onex2, will the audio be recorded onto my video directly, or do I have to have 3rd party editing that overlays? I'm trying to avoid getting in over my head. I'd like to keep it simple. I'm vacationing in Sweden for the first time in June. Looking forward to it. Thanks again, MK
MK - I am using an Osmo Action (1st Gen) to motorcycle vlog. What do you think the best set up using DJI wireless mic as external mic? The Osmo Action cannot adjust gain in the camera settings. 1. Tape transmitter directly into helmet and record into transmitter with receiver mounted on camera with USB-C adapter/mount? 2. Do the same with lavalier mic taped in helmet and transmitter in pocket or in jacket somewhere Or should I buy an external mic adapter for the Osmo Action and use the TRS cable to dump audio directly into the Osmo Action? I also have a Insta360 X3 to use for secondary shots but the field of vision with the action cam mounted to helmet is superior and I need the X3 for the secondary shots. I haven’t found any official adapters to mount the DJI to X3 yet. The x3 can adjust gain. Thanks for the very informative video!
Generally speaking I only use a wireless microphone if a wired is not doing the trick. All wireless systems are to some degree sensitive to signal distribution / error. I would say it would be challenging to get the DJI transmitter at a good position inside the helmet. I would suggest a microphone specially designed to be used in close proximity so you could tape it close to your mouth inside the helmet. Basically it comes down to your specific needs and what’s easiest to work with. You will be annoyed if things takes to long time to set up. I would go for what’s easiest to use :) Good Luck!!!
@@MK-Creator thanks. Taping the lav would be the only solution then. But putting using the receiver would be the way to get past this gain issue right?
Im using the Mono Safety feature but I only find one really quiet mono track in the files. When I bring it into Resolve, it says its mono with only one channel? When I record, I only have 1 transmitter out and the other in the case. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong? All the firmwares are updated and this is a brand new DJI MIC 1.
Thanks for watching!

Love the transmitter’s magnet demo!
amazing video, which one do you think will be the best regular config for transmiter and receiver, I heard that I should use a high level on the transmiter and a mid-low level on the receiver to avoid a lot of background noise, but just want to check our opinion on it. ( I know we have the 3rd setting there to configure (the device/camera) but we can low that one out as well.
Great tutorial, very useful. Thanks.
Thank YOU for finding your way here and for taking your time to write a little note 😃👍
Thank you so much!!!
well done, nice and clear and very helpful.
I’m happy that you took your time to share 😃 welcome back at any time!😊👍
Thank you very much for this excellent tutorial. Superbly clear. I'm curious, though, why you use a lavia/lapel mic plugged into the transmitter rather than using the transmitter directly? Is the sound much better? So far, I've found the DJI mic fine by itself.
Just of aesthetically reasons to have a tiny mic instead of the “brick” 🤩👍
Hello dear Mats
Thank you for your great video. I watched the whole video but couldn't figure out if you recommend the DJI mic for ambient sound recording? I want to use it to record audio for forest camping videos, not for voice. Thanks for your help
Excellent review.
🤩👍🏼
Outstanding Thank you very much
Thank you too! 😃👍
Hi Mats
I enjoyed your presentation a lot! Thx 🙏🏻 Very informative and with a nice portion of humor 😁 within it. Keep up the good work please.
Are you going to do a follow up, where you actually shows us how to set up the DJI mic both the software settings as Well as the placement of the gear?
For example an interview.
I notice that the option of turning of the LEDs, has been added to the software 👏👍🏻👌🏻
Kind regards

Thank you :) and thanks for the suggestion
I didnt know you had to swipe on the side of channel you wanted to record. Thank you!
Im happy I could help out and welcome back as often as you want! There are many more videos explore😃👍
Great video. As other people have pointed out, you covered much more than any video I’ve seen on this product. DJI should in fact provide a scannable link to this video.
I completely agree with your criticisms as well. Making Tx adjustments should be much easier.
Now, here’s are questions with regards to how you made this video …
What software did you use to produce this? I ses that you used trackers at certain points and setting up that in DaVinci Resolve takes a little time. So, I was curious about that.
2) You appear to have used an overhead camera pointing down and it also seems to have a telephoto lens. That leads me to believe it is heavy and that you have a very robust tripod to hold it. Is that the case?
The amount of work you have done is noticed and admired. Clean production and high quality. Thank you very much.
Thanks 🙏😃
I use FCPX for all my editing.
I did have a Sony A7SIII as overhead camera. Attached with some super clamps and articulated arms to a Auto pole 😁
Watch the very first video on this channel and I think I covered some of it in that video /)
@MK-Creator how do you suggest setting up the DJI Mic with the iPhone 14 pro for a video podcast or interview with two people? Mono, mono S, or stereo, and how would I edit so it sounds good when uploading to TH-cam?
@@FollowMister Hi,
You would definitely set it to Stereo so that each person on on there own track. You would only use Mono Safety for a situation where there might be loud sounds.
In DR on the Fairlight page, you would copy the audio track to another track. Then, set each track to mono so the L and R are using the same source. Then, you’ll have complete control of each person’s audio.
Really loved this video! thank you!
Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to attend your message 😃👍
extremely helpful, cheers mate
😃👍
i appreciate the work gone into this helpful video
Hi there, I just bought this mic and was so happy to try it out - but it seems it won't work with my Samsung.. Do you know an alternative for a Samsung s23 ultra that has the same quality...? Any idea would be greatly appreciated... 🙏
Correct, the compatibility sheet do not list the s23 unfortunately.
I would go for the Rode Wireless Go II: geni.us/rode-wireless-go-2
And then the SC16 cable: geni.us/Rode-SC16
I do have that mic as well and it is just fantastic!
Thanks again for your help!
this video help me decide to get the mic. from the Phils
So Happy it helped out! 😃👍
January 4, 2023 firmware update brought the option to completely disable the LEDs.
Thanks for sharing 👍😃
Hello from the US! Great job! Thank you for all your insight. Forgive my ignorance here, I'm new to this. If I buy a kit like this for my insta 360 onex2, will the audio be recorded onto my video directly, or do I have to have 3rd party editing that overlays? I'm trying to avoid getting in over my head. I'd like to keep it simple. I'm vacationing in Sweden for the first time in June. Looking forward to it. Thanks again, MK
Great review, Thank You.
😃👍
Great video, thank you !!!
Thank you too!
2. Do the same with lavalier mic taped in helmet and transmitter in pocket or in jacket somewhere
Or should I buy an external mic adapter for the Osmo Action and use the TRS cable to dump audio directly into the Osmo Action?
I would go for what’s easiest to use :)
Good Luck!!!
@@MK-Creator thanks. Taping the lav would be the only solution then. But putting using the receiver would be the way to get past this gain issue right?
Really amazing cheers to new Subscriber
So happy to have you here! Very much welcome!🥳👍
Great information thanks. Would love to know what lens you used for your external shot on the bike please? Assume it’s a 1.4 maybe 20ml?
👋 Thanks !
That was the beautiful 24 mm 1.4 gmaster: geni.us/eBnT
Thank you for such great tips!! ❤
