I think it's important to reiterate how good it was that Killmonger's "cameo" was earned and not just a fan service moment. He had all the right reasons for being there. That's not too common now
Yeah it actually fixed a problem I had with the first movie which is I think Killmonger should have lived to kind of challenge T’Challa on his choices in future movies. His scene did pretty much what I would’ve wanted his role to be so I thought his inclusion was great.
That opening scene with Shuri was so heartbreaking. I had a friend who I played baseball with when I was 12 and his mom died from cancer a year earlier. His dad was a doctor and did everything he could to try and figure out how to save her but simply couldn’t and I very much thought about that during that scene
I don't necessarily think M'Baku was challenging Shuri for the throne. I assumed that he was challenging anybody else which pretty much shows that Shuri has allowed him to be king
@@metallicnole4514 and as part of the tradition showed in the first film they take away those powers so it’s a fair fight and kinda to show the ruler earns the thrown. Although I could see someone like Okoye holdering her own against M’Baku or someone with more combat prowess than Shuri.
To have a script with your main actor and the next day he’s gone, Coogler re did his script and it was very well done. Felt a sense of closure w Boseman’s passing and each character played at their best and it was beautifully done. Intense emotion with awesome action and great character and fan moments.
A solid 7-8/10 for me. It’s a miracle the movie was good honestly so props to Coogler and the cast. The middle is a little long and obviously no Chadwick was a huge loss but all things considered pretty solid film.
I lost my mother to a cerebral stroke this July. I had lost my father in December 2020 to COVID! I am an only child, from India. When all hope seemed lost, this movie has given me strength. From holding on to the clothes of the funeral, to a friend saying that "I am no longer a child because I have lost so much", I can't count the literal similarities that was just thrown at me in those 160 minutes. Through the mourning of Chadwick, I also mourned my parents!
Prince T'Challa was a perfect compromise between the "Don't recast to respect Chadwick's passing" and the "Don't make the character of T'Challa die with him" arguments. Chadwick was allowed to be laid to rest, but we will still have a T'Challa to carry on. Now, I'm just hoping there's a little Storm out there about the same age so we can eventually see that relationship from the comics.
@@redmangoose182 that trope goes against everything T'challa stood for and what he was angry about when he found out about Killmonger and his father That was absolutely NOT brilliant
Love how you got the audience reactions afterwards. It really adds to a movie/cinema experience overall. I still have the audio file of my audience going crazy at One Piece Film Red from just last week, and man, the experience is just something else. Everyone in the room was going crazy, and afterwards everyone left with a big smile on their face. That just lets you know you were watching the movie with the right crowd. It heightens the experience. You getting those reactions demonstrate that 👍 I also wanna add that even though I have no real intention of watching this movie, I have only the utmost respect for the crew working on this film, Ryan Coogler, and all the effort they put into the film. They were dealt the worst possible hands in terms of production, and I can only imagine what they all felt working on this movie without their main star. It’s no easy task, and while I myself won’t be able to determine whether or not their efforts paid off and made for a good film, what I can say is I respect their persistence and efforts to make the film given all the circumstances. To most, it seems the efforts were well paid off. And ofc, RIP the real king of Wakanda, Chadwick Boseman
I do as many as I can for the releases that seem to make the most sense. Not every movie justifies doing one. I have a bunch of them for TV shows on my second channel. But given the length, they're not the sort of content I can just quickly and easily crank out.
I think mbaku coming out at the end is hinting that shuri gave up the thrown and mantle to him. I think he is there at the end to offer someone to challenge him like tchalla did after he became king by default (when his dad died )
With just the way that Ryan Coogler directed the people of Talokan, I trust him with any MCU project moving forward. There was so much atmosphere surrounding them. It takes a very talented director to do what he did in Wakanda Forever.
The way I read that scene with M’Baku at the end was that Shuri basically gave him the throne. They both know she’d lose in an even fight so she essentially yielded without even throwing a punch.
So I saw it last night and I loved it!!! I left feeling all of these heavy emotions and it helped me process that Chadwick may be gone-but the Black Panther will always carry on! spoilers: Namor is such an absolute BADASS man! I’m so glad they didn’t kill him off so he can come back for FF down the line! He oozed that POS energy with so much charisma I couldn’t help but respect him! Changing his origin (as well as giving his name more meaning) was GREAT!! Loved Letitia as an angry and resentful Shuri (especially her scene with Killmonger)! M’Baku and Ross are always great! So are Queen Ramonda, Okoye, and Nakia! I HATED Riri in the comics (yes I read them, I just didn’t connect) but she’s AWESOME here!! Love her snark and she was an absolute joy (love her suit design too)! Having T’Challa’s son in the end made me cry. I was hoping they’d call him Azari but that’s okay (I get why they couldn’t really- I just love the “Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow”)
The Talocan herb was different from the (old)heart shaped herb of Wakanda but similar. The Talocan version allows one to heal from a stabbing as we saw during the bridge fight. The NEW heart shape herb was synthesized from the Talocan version. This is why Shurri survived being impaled.
Without a doubt, my favorite format on your channel are exactly these 1hour+ spoiler talks. I just love listening to your voice and how you diligently shed light on your opinion about a movie or series. I wished these videos would be made for more movies that you watch in cinema, but I get the point that not every movie gives enough discussion material to talk about it for so long.
I think she made the herb using some of the talocan bracelet Namur gave her , giving her ability to heal. The fight on the bridge established they could get impaled and still get up. Maybe this herb Shuri took has a bit of powers from both underwater and above.
That post credit scene was beautiful and even thinking about it gets me choked up. The Queen telling Shuri that you need to let go and when you do your brother will come to you in your own way like he did for her with the wind - and then having him come to her in the form of his son and her nephew. What a beautiful scene
The scene of Okoye being stripped of General is some of the best acting I’ve ever seen in a comic book movie by Angela Bassit. My god when she gives the trailer line about her family being gone, was one of the most emotional moments for me. Just some capital A acting.
This film for me just felt hollow. I know lots of other people felt all the emotions from the film, and I'm so happy they did. I just got too focused on the plot holes and narrative discrepancies that the emotional scenes didn't quite stick. I felt Queen Ramonda, Nakia, okieya, M'bacu, and Namor were the best characters on screen. However, with the actions of Wakanda and the surviving royalty, I actually had a hard time seeing Namor as a villain outside of wanting to kill everyone on land, with his "you fight with us or die against us" mentality. Every other action he was mich more justified in than the Wakandans. They took shuri because she asked to, and then Wakanda killed two of Namor's people under the flag of truce (a war crime). Justifiably Namor retaliated, and could have ended Wakanda or at least killed shuri and other leadership to destabilize them if he wanted and was the villain, like Killmonger who wanted to topple the Wakandan government. Namor allowed them time to mourn and prepare to join his people or die. Also, still not a fan of the racist lines against whites in the film, nor the bullying done by the good guys in the film. Still, the movie is a 6.5-7/10 for me
I think one of the few complaints I have about this movie is the pacing. I felt that for what we got it was too long, but at the same time I think it could’ve been almost an hour longer to fully show every aspect of the story. Overall 8.5/10. Great performances from everyone, but obviously Angela Basset was incredible. Namor was awesome, hoping he has a return just as good as his first appearance. The directing was flawless, but like the one dude said, I highly doubt I’ll be rewatching this one soon. I was in tears within the first five minutes and I think throughout the rest of the movie I didn’t actually have a genuine smile of happiness on my face until the post credit scene. Still great movie, massive step up from Love & Thunder.
The Imax experience for me with the loss of Chadwick acknowledged, this movie is perfect for me. My only real criticism is the final act could have better action but I loved it.
I Think The Logic Behind Shuri Not Knowing About Her Nephew Was The Fact That She & T'Challa Both Got Snapped Away, Came Back 5 Years Later When The Child Was Already Born, Everyone Is Trying To Get Their Lives Back Together, And Shortly After That, He Dies.
After having seen it I really loved Namor. He could be equal parts charming and threatening. I hope he and his people are used a lot more in the future.
I loved it. Easily the best film in phase 4. It had a lot of stakes and I felt fear for the characters in every action scene. Namor was really menacing. This was a great summary and review of the film Sean chandler! Loved it
Anyone else think it’s kinda funny that two different MCU movies this year have the plot point of “villain wants the hero to deliver a young girl to them because they want to kill her”
THIS WAS A 9.9 FOR ME! It was really fun The .1 percent gone is bc of the *mid* credits I don’t like how tchalla has a son they just used a quick route! Fav scene is the bike chase with the feds!!!
I actually thought they used ironheart better than they used America Chavez. She didn’t over power the film, she was just a fun addition that made sense in the story
I took M’Baku’s épilogue move as a planned thing between him and Shuri. I think Shrui knows she isn’t ready to lead Wakanda, but she will continue to be the black Panther.
I did love this film a lot. I do certainly think that the script and the movie is a bit too messy to be amongst the top MCU movies, mostly because of the movie being 10-20 minutes too long, everything about Ross and Val felt like set-up for upcoming projects, and the third act was lackluster, even if it was better than the one in the original one. But i still can't stop thinking about it. What really makes the movie stand-out is the characters, because even if the plot at times hits some familiar beats, the characters really make the movie super endearing. Every character had their own mini-arc, and the mid-credits scene, even if the reveal was little contrived, was quite beautiful
I think the scene at the end with M’baku implied Shuri told him to take the thrown I believe he says something like “ Princess Shuri sends her regards” It makes sense cause I don’t get the impression Shuri wants to rule and she trusts M’baku.
I give the movie a 6/10,overall pretty generic plot and I wasn’t really a fan of shuri becoming black panther, but they couldn’t have done it any different.Overall the movie was way to long,a lot of the scenes were pretty useless and didn’t have to be in the movie.Namor was a great character and ironheart was a pretty fine character too.But the suit looked absolutely horrible of ironheart.Okoye (I think it is pronounced like that) had a forgettable plotline and the suit that shuri gave her didn’t fit to her at.The same goes to M’baku, who had like 10 lines in the movie. And I could count a lot more but the most useless and forgettable story line was the one of Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) who actually didn’t have any use in the movie,if they would have cut that out of the movie it wouldn’t make a difference The acting performances were actually pretty good and I could tell that they really put a lot of effort in their performances. If Chadwick hadn’t sadly passed away, the movie could have been a lot better, with a better plot, but sadly tragedy struck. To be honest I think they would have been better off to recast T‘challa.
I think the M'Baku scene in the epilogue was shown to convey that Shuri and M'Baku had previously agreed that M'Baku will be the new king/Black Panther. I think M'Baku even says "Princess Shuri sends her regards"
It’s understood that Shuri doesn’t want to rule Wakanda. They are setting up for a ruler of Wakanda being a different person than the Black Panther. This would make Wakanda stronger honestly. M’Baku never said he was challenging Shuri, he said he wanted to challenge for the throne. This is brilliant because M’Baku would be an amazing ruler and they were pretty much setting him up as such. He was just following their tradition but making the challenge.
I saw Wakanda Forever yesterday and I thought it was fantastic and about an 8.5/10. Putting into my MCU ranking, I’d say it might be the 5th best movie overall. I do feel though that if Chadwick Boseman was still around as T’Challa, it may have been the absolute best MCU movie ever made.
This is without a doubt my favorite project from phase 4 it is a return for marvel to the top notch movies I know they can put out and the best thing they have done since endgame.
I thought this was a very emotional and powerful film, Angela Bassett was my favorite part, each time on screen she captivated me. Working around all the bad circumstances (and pulling it off IMO) made this feel even more enjoyable an experience. Shurri’s journey was also incredible to watch! Solid 8.5/10 for me
Honestly, my only real gripe with the film is that Shuri's character arc is pretty much a retread of T'challa's character arc from Captain America Civil War. I mean, it makes sense that she's learning the same lessons he did, but in the grand scheme of things, it can feel redundant. Still, they executed it really well considering the situation. The movie was a tad bit too long too. Some scenes were just there to set up The Thunderbolts and could've been moved to a post-credit scene or simply cut for another time. I also like Riri MUCH more than her comic counterpart. However, for most of the runtime, Riri feels more like a plot device than a character, so I hope that's something they can expand upon in the future. Overall, I'd probably put it at in top 5 of Phase 4 (which isn't saying much, but still) with No Way Home, Shang Chi, Wakanda Forever, Werewolf by Night, and WandaVision in order. For me, the highs of No Way Home and Shang Chi are just really, really high, but I also really appreciate the tone Wakanda Forever went for. Some levity here and there, but not so much it undermines or compromises the overall tone of the story (looking at you, Love and Thunder...)
I Just thought it was an absolutely amazing film Such a great contribute to Chadwick Okoya badass as ever Rye rye willams getting Ironman 1 vibes 9.5/10 WAKANDA FOREVER RIP CHADWICK your the king you will be missed Chadwick forever
I didn’t get why Okoye was stripped of her rank. Wasn’t she kind of running things in Wakanda during the blip? We saw her working with The Avengers during Endgame. I think she would have gotten more respect for that.
Incredible movie!!! One of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. Really really special film. I was sitting next to a 10-12 year old black little girl and she kept gasping and was so encapsulated by the film. I was so happy for her getting to experience so many incredible role models for her and the movie got a round of applause in my theatre!
@1:00:40 I wish we would have gotten to see a more tangible concession for Namor to have to take to Wakanda since Shuri spared his life. I didn't like how at the end Namor seemed like he was just as powerful as before and could still be seen as a threat to Wakanda. I wish there would have been a scene where more of a consequence was given to Namor and Taloken
So maybe I need to see it again (I will), but during the M'Baku scene at the end during Challenge Day, I took it as he wasn't challenging her. He was challenging FOR her. Since she wasn't there, he took her spot and was gonna do all the usual Challenge Day stuff with the different people of Wakanda.
My favorite scene was all the havoc Namor brought to wakanda in the climax. Some scenes in the town felt reminiscent to the classic blockbusters of the past
Hey, Sean! Love your content! Quick prick suggestion... You should probably lower your mic out of shot or use a professional grade lavaliere mic. Your camera is struggling to focus. A-holing aside, I appreciate your attention to details on these videos.
I thought this movie was great. The characters are all incredible, especially Shuri, Namor is an awesome villain, it looks stunning, it's highly emotional, and it's just a beautiful tribute to both T'Challa and Chadwick Boseman. It's pretty long, and there are definitely points when you can feel the length, but it's an excellent movie nonetheless.
I just got done watching it and I loved it honest a very solid movie, I really liked namor I was worried that they would kill him off or make shuri wayy stronger than him for no reason so it wouldn't be a fight, but I really enjoyed how they kept it fairly even with namor still having the upper hand but not by much. Overall very solid film looking forward to seeing more black panther and namor in the future.
idk why but i really liked how the big talikan warrior guy fights okoye and even tho he was toying with her knowing she can't win, it makes me think of dinobot from beast wars where he has a fighting sense of honor and giving a fair chance to kill brutally in battle instead of while shes defenseless also one thing i noticed was that namor had the crazy eyes lol
At the end with M'Baku, the way I saw it was that he would become King and Shuri would remain as Black Panther. In Civil War we see that both titles don't need to be held by the same person.
Hey Sean! Great review m. I believe the implication is that Shuri didn’t want the throne and supported M’Baku to be the king. It kind of makes sense in the way that we saw him being more or less the wisest person in the movie.
Audience reactions: I've never been in a cinema so quiet before ever the only time I heard any noise outside of the movie was a laugh at a joke very rarely because there were so few jokes other than that silence. I'm not sure of what others thought of it from my screening but my friends who have seen it all really enjoyed it General Thoughts: I have never been taken on such an emotional rollercoaster in a movie, when I left I was at a loss for words and very deep in Thought I couldn't stop thinking about it all night it was all still sinking in. Its something that you need to see for yourself to truly understand how good it is and in cinemas is the best way to do so Death of T'Challa: This caught me off guard with the opening. We all knew that tragically T'Challa would've died because tragically we lost Chadwick, but what I didn't expect was us to see the death. I'm not sure how I expected them to handle this but that really surprised me. They handled this all really well though. Having the Marvel intro be of just Chadwick was a moving tribute too I was so close to crying as soon as I saw that The World Wants Vibranium: This set the stage perfectly for the rest of the movie, showing how vulnerable Wakanda is especially now that they don't have a Black Panther Enter Namor: OK so to answer your question about whether they're allies or enemies. I'd say neither not yet at least. Although, in later movies we will see this more. Queen Ramonda and Shuris talk... man that was like you ripped my heart out it was so painful to watch but is probably one of my favourite scenes in the movie (I don't know what my favourite is there's so many I want to say.) Which I love even more after the ending but I'll get to that when we reach the ending. Namors intro was so cool too straight off the bat he's shown to be such a huge threat and the way he changes just like that. Wow just wow Ironheart: I had a lot of fun watching IronHeart and this makes me even more excited for her series! While I wish she had more of a role in the story I'm fine with her not as this is an introduction to her and she served her purpose in this movie. I really enjoyed Shuri and RiRis scenes too they were all great I hope we see more of them! Okoye being stripped of her rank too omg that was really unexpected Namors Backstory: This story oh my god... that was painful to watch. It was a little too much exposition at once throughout this entire part though not just in the backstory. CIA: Definitely the worst part of the movie they took me out of the experience a lot if anything had to be cut it should be them. Although, side note I don't think anything could be really added or removed from this movie. It's just a case of if anything HAD to be they should be Namors Revenge: I know I said Queen Ramonda and Shuris chat is my favourite scene but, this one is another favourite. Although it's technically a sequence so... favourite sequence of the movie. The cinematography in this was so good I felt like I was there experiencing this attack on Wakanda, not knowing what to do. At one point I even tensed up in it it felt so real I was tensing up waiting for the water because I felt like I was there. That is top tier cinematography! Queen Ramondas death too... I had a feeling this was coming after I saw theories then the entire way throughout I had a gut feeling. This couldn't prepare me though once again it felt as though my heart was ripped out seeing that. Especially, with just how cold Namor was after this that mood change of him once again hit hard Shuris Preparation: When watching this I was hoping Shuri would see Queen Ramonda but honestly I'm glad it was Killmonger that's so much better storytelling that shows just how much of a dark place Shuris in and drives the plot really well Final Battle: Chills absolute chills! That's all I can say. I was really surprised at just how far this went especially with burning Namor that much. I'm glad Shuri didn't end up killing Namor though I was hoping he'd be in more projects so this means he may be now The epilogue: I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused by that M'Baku scene I hope that's explained in a future project as that's so confusing. As teased in the Enter Namor section I'll finally talk about this. Closing off the movie with Shuri doing the ritual was so powerful and the perfect way to end this movie I think it truly brought a tear to my eye especially when it cut to silence and clips of T'Challa were playing so we could sink it in before the credits rolled. Mid-Credit scene: Having the reveal of T'Challa having a son oh my gosh that had me in tears what a beautiful note to end the movie on Conclusion: Honestly, I'm glad we didn't get a second post-credit scene this worked so much better with just the one. Overall this movie is a solid 9/10 one of my favourite MCU movies

You seem like the greatest person to view/experience a movie with I agreed with everything u said I also saw it 3xs now I wanna see it a 4th lol but I’d say for the plot point of nakia confessing her secret child was calling shuri in the beginning of the movie n shuri didn’t care to speak and told her AI to mind it’s business maybe that was her trying to tell shuri… I thought it was slick how they had baby T challa bring his grandma to his mom when she first came to Haiti… so many details the 3rd act did need a bigger scale fight/war I was like u went to war with 40 soldiers? Lol and then they were taunting them to fall off the ship? No more fighting.. why didn’t the midnight armor just wipe thru them like captain marvel thru a ship but all n all it’s a freaking incredible poem/movie. Anyone who says it was flat out horrible I really question their mental state in life lol WAKANDA FOREVER & EVERLASTING
Personally, I give the movie a 6/10. That’s not to say it’s bad, my scaling might just be a bit more critical since 9 or 10s would be like Forest Gump or Everything Everywhere All At Once. This movie didn’t live up to what I was hoping it’d be. The pacing was off and really dragged on towards the middle. I even almost dozed off at a certain point. Visuals were great, acting was fantastic, and the villain was memorable enough. I’ve been wanting live action Namor for years, and I loved seeing him in action, but tbh I felt they could’ve made him way more intimidating. Backstory was also a little whimsy tbh. Riri was a pleasant surprise. By far, she was what I was least looking forward to, but she was surprisingly pleasant to watch when first introduced. She got pretty stale towards the end, but still better than expected. Overall tho, my biggest gripe is that this movie just didn’t feel as emotional or personal as it should’ve. Like it took itself seriously, but I just didn’t find myself feeling the way the movie was telling me to feel. I felt weirdly detached from it, more so than most MCU movies I’ve watched, which is really odd since I went into it expecting to have a really emotional, heartfelt, and personal experience.
not a masterpiece, but solid movie. A little long, I felt the runtime a bit especially towards the 2nd act and the end. The big 3 were Bassett, Letitia, and Namor. The other characters were either underutilized or unnecessary. But fr tho Sean, my theater also had crazy reaction when the talocan dude threw okoye into the spear😂Overall, 8.5/10
I enjoyed the movie, it was a wonderful tribute to Chadwick Boseman. However, as a movie in general, it felt like it had the Furious 7 problem, where the major actor died before filming ended, so the villain was underdeveloped, the story itself felt clunky and too thin on how it’s put together, I just see a lot of potential in the movie not being reached. But for the last minute stuff they did, I was really impressed and I’m really glad Chadwick Boseman is being honored, it’s a shame he had to go so soon.💔
Bro it was. Quiet during the logo I wanted to clap because I thought that was a beautiful way to honor Chadwick. I'm glad I kept that to myself. It was an awesome experience for earth.
If no one at the Falls challenges M'Baku he is King. He didn't challenge Shuri herself just to be on the throne. If Shuri was there M'Baku would have to challenge her
47:50 Actually if you really think about it both Shuri and Killmonger had their golden looks inspired by T'Chaka. Gold is an ostentatious colour that can represent status, wisdom, enlightenment and the Sun(illuminating its surroundings). We associate the colour with being the best at something similar to how T'Chaka was largely seen as a great and wise leader. Killmonger's aesthetic represents a corruption of this image and references what T'Challa says to him about becoming the people he hates so much. As a child no doubt he would have known of the Black Panther through stories from his dad, and after finding his dad killed that image of the Black Panther to a young kid becomes warped into something evil, predatory and monstrous.... this is reflected in the helmet's frightening appearance with a more prominent scowl and gnashing teeth along with leopard spots (a nod to his pet in the comics). He looks like the image of the vicious killer a child would have imagined after having his only family taken away.. Shuri's aesthetic also seems inspired by T'Chaka's with the helmet even adopting a similar facial profile (note the two little fangs on the front of the jaw) but with a few ornamentations like the dots. The gold pieces are a lot more numerous in the whole suit this time, making it look like plate armour almost, and this might be a feminine thing as the Dora wear armour with adornments and metal plating. Could also be her trying to mimic her father who wore gold but as she remembers him as many children do in an idealised, heroic light... her mental picture of him wears more gold than he actually did while he was Panther.
This is why T'Challa's suit is the absolute best and his choice of it over the golden one says a lot about his character. T'Challa is a humble, dutiful son and as such would never see himself as above his father, in fact he sees himself as a rookie almost with much to learn and large shoes to fill... the GREY/SILVER to T'Chaka's GOLD. Grey is a neutral colour, it's stern, cool, serene and controlled. It respresents strength(like steel), patience, resolve and stealth. And his Civil War mask gives it a relaxed yet menacing hyper-focused look, perfect for his introductory appearance. This is why T'Challa is the best Black Panther as he's simply BUILT DIFFERENT!
I cried so much watching this movie a girl infront of me shouted to Prince TChalla scene, "ok TJ!" It was so much fun seeing him the whole theatre erupted. I watch it in imax here in the Bahamas! Awesome story
Can you imagine being in the writers room for this movie……they really did their best to make it make sense without feeling cheap or that cheesy Disney/Marvel feel to it.
If you enjoyed watching Black Panther: -struggle with believing in the spiritual aspects of their heritage and question the existence of their guardian deity -overcome grief and anger by choosing a less destructive path that doesn't expose their people to great danger -afterward discovering their predecessor kept a pretty significant secret hidden away for years Then chances are you'll enjoy the sequel to Black Panther because they do all of that AGAIN this time with everyone's favourite memeing scientist Princess Shuri of Wakanda in the titular role. Good job Ryan, Nate and Kevin... same time next year? Jokes aside, that's not really a bad thing. Even in the comics T'Challa and his sister are not all that different at least until Shuri undergoes a sort of metamorphosis in the afterlife. They only SEEM different because whenever we've seen the two interacting they are at different stages in their lives... which as an elder sibling myself I can relate to. My favourite T'Challa/Shuri moment is when Shuri runs over one of Klaue's goons and T'Challa's first instinct is to preserve her innocence and waves it off as her "doing great!". I can imagine T'Challa in all their scenes together musing internally like "yep, I was just like you at that age"
1. #RIPChadwickBoseman 2. This movie, while not as magical as the first movie, was pretty much incredible despite every hurdle there is. Also, if Angela Bassett doesn't win the Oscar for this, I will be furious. Her performance in this movie was truly incredible. 3. (8:48-45:50; 46:08-55:15; 55:34-1:06:42) *SPOILERS FOR BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER*
I just got done watching the movie. I enjoyed it. It was pretty fun. If I rank all the MCU movies it'll go in the top half. I do think, though, it would've been better as a Namor movie rather than a Black Panther sequel. I mean, we have a Black Panther movie and Shuri as BP didn't show up until the last half hour. Making it a Namor movie, hardly anything would've needed to be changed and we could've spent more time with him and developed the character even more than they did. This movie was definitely more about him than about the Black Panther. Then they could've introduced Shuri as BP near the end and set up a future Black Panther movie with her in the role. If it was a Namor movie, I'd likely rank it higher on my MCU list. I agree that the movie ran a bit long and slow in the middle. The vast was absolutely phenomenal. All the returning characters were wonderful to see on screen again. M'Baku shined as usual. I love him in the MCU. For me, he's like Wong. Whenever he's on screen, I'm can't help but enjoy his character. I can't wait to see where they take him in future films. The new characters like Namor and Ironheart were fantastic. And I loved the Midnight Angels outfits. I like how they were pretty accurate to Namor's personality in the comic books. What I'm curious about is if they'll have his MCU character also have bipolar disorder like Namor in the comics. They hinted at it with his bouncing back and forth between his quick mood changes. It'd be nice to have MCU representation of a character with mental health issues. The tributes to Boseman at the beginning and end were very touching. Overall, a good movie. Not great but they did a wonderful job with the hand dealt them.
Given the circumstances, it's a good movie but that's the problem it should've been a great film and it has moments of it. Letitia Wright is not a lead she's a supporting actor or someone who could lead a small drama, not a major franchise. Winston Duke as M'Baku is the only returning cast member that was great to see and I wish he was in it more. Angela Bassett's performance is overhyped. It's comparable to RDJ in Endgame it's excellent for a comic book movie but compared to their best work it's a shrug. Which says more about the low standards that audiences and critics expect from MCU films. When this film is a Ryan Coogler film it is excellent but when adding the scenes to connect it to the MCU it is jarring. Coogler is an example of what true auteur filmmakers have to deal with now with franchise films. Chris Nolan was the last filmmaker to take a comic book property and truly make it his own film with no need to have ties to it. Had Coogler been around 15 years earlier his Black Panther films would be a singular artistic vision and not a vision that also needs to be part of a larger corporate narrative,
I was holding out hope for this movie. I was hoping maybe Marvel would deliver that goodness from the Infinity Saga. I think this movie has solidified in my mind that the MCU has lost its way. I don’t think the movie was necessarily bad, I gave it a 6/10 but it really was pretty disappointing. Too long, Shuri was not that good or interesting of a character, the third act is underwhelming, some characters were just useless like M’Baku, if there are some positive things I can say it’s that Angela Bassett was great and Namor was pretty good also and of course the tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Overall though, it was a disappointment. RIP King you will be missed
@F as someone who is heavy anti-woke, I actually think you’re right. I don’t like how Marvel is really pushing the female heroes all of a sudden, but I think in this movie having Shuri as the Black Panther made the most sense. I can’t be mad about this one and I think the critics need to realize that too
I dug it. I thought it had a lot to offer with the story and characters. But the runtime was WAY to long, and the middle act was over shadows by way to many characters, and that memorable of action

It's not bad, soild 7/10, I like tone, Namor and Shuri are good character. However didn't care about Iron Heart, honestly she was a wasted of space.
I think it's important to reiterate how good it was that Killmonger's "cameo" was earned and not just a fan service moment. He had all the right reasons for being there. That's not too common now
THIS
Soooo you didn’t read the comics ?? Haha smh killmonger comes back
Yea it was a great scene
Yeah it actually fixed a problem I had with the first movie which is I think Killmonger should have lived to kind of challenge T’Challa on his choices in future movies. His scene did pretty much what I would’ve wanted his role to be so I thought his inclusion was great.
@@TheFilmSpace1 Just because it happens in the comics doesn't mean it'll happen in the MCU.
Yes, that's what my language subtitles said too
Yes, exactly
Which I think that fits as Shuri likely sees she’s not either emotionally ready to rule or not able to do it.
Also, there's no way shuri could beat m'baku in combat without the black panther powers
@@metallicnole4514 and as part of the tradition showed in the first film they take away those powers so it’s a fair fight and kinda to show the ruler earns the thrown. Although I could see someone like Okoye holdering her own against M’Baku or someone with more combat prowess than Shuri.
RIP, Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman from the BATMAN Animated Series passed away today at age 66 from cancer.

I hope you are doing ok man. Stay strong
@@iamgroot3615 Thank you Sire!
Yeah the son decision was GENIUS. I would've never thought they could go that route with it.
Actually brilliant so they don't hv to compromise nakia to bring out storm

Love how you got the audience reactions afterwards. It really adds to a movie/cinema experience overall. I still have the audio file of my audience going crazy at One Piece Film Red from just last week, and man, the experience is just something else. Everyone in the room was going crazy, and afterwards everyone left with a big smile on their face. That just lets you know you were watching the movie with the right crowd. It heightens the experience. You getting those reactions demonstrate that 👍
I also wanna add that even though I have no real intention of watching this movie, I have only the utmost respect for the crew working on this film, Ryan Coogler, and all the effort they put into the film.

I think mbaku coming out at the end is hinting that shuri gave up the thrown and mantle to him. I think he is there at the end to offer someone to challenge him like tchalla did after he became king by default (when his dad died )
Yeah I thought the same, she doesn't wanna be Queen so the position is free lol.
Totally agree, M’Baku would make a great king.
M'BAKU Queen of Wakanda 😂
Or
Shuri deflecting responsibility of the Black Panther and actually earning it....
Loved the movie. Shuri has become one of my favorite MCU characters. Her arc is really satisfying. One of my favorite MCU movies.
I left feeling all of these heavy emotions and it helped me process that Chadwick may be gone-but the Black Panther will always carry on!
spoilers:
Namor is such an absolute BADASS man!
I thought she survived just from the suit because Killmonger’s suit was weak when he took out the spear.
Makes sense
Magic mcguffin plant does whatever script needs
Without a doubt, my favorite format on your channel are exactly these 1hour+ spoiler talks. I just love listening to your voice and how you diligently shed light on your opinion about a movie or series. I wished these videos would be made for more movies that you watch in cinema, but I get the point that not every movie gives enough discussion material to talk about it for so long.
I took the ending as Shuri passing up the throne and allowing M’Baku to rule as king while Shuri remains the Black Panther
I think she made the herb using some of the talocan bracelet Namur gave her , giving her ability to heal. The fight on the bridge established they could get impaled and still get up. Maybe this herb Shuri took has a bit of powers from both underwater and above.
The two silent tributes were incredible and important and such a beautiful shared grieving experience. 😭

I'm very sad Okoye didn't redeem herself in her queen's eyes. Really enjoyed the movie, great review. Cheers.
Remember death isn’t the end in wakanda hopefully this plays out in her own series and we can have a
Convo between her and Ramonda in ancestral plane
You can't say Namor had no weaknesses of either. His weakness was he got his strength from the water which was his downfall
Loved it
Anyone else think it’s kinda funny that two different MCU movies this year have the plot point of “villain wants the hero to deliver a young girl to them because they want to kill her”
One was handled well one wasn't
Its not just the mcu the kid that is a macguffin is a common trope these days everywhere
THIS WAS A 9.9 FOR ME!
It was really fun
The .1 percent gone is bc of the *mid* credits I don’t like how tchalla has a son they just used a quick route!
Fav scene is the bike chase with the feds!!!
I actually thought they used ironheart better than they used America Chavez. She didn’t over power the film, she was just a fun addition that made sense in the story
After seeing that movie, I don't really have words. It was fantastic, much better than I expected. Just wow.
I thought it was awesome seeing Erik Killmonger in Shuri's vision and how he was was making her feeling conflicted on how to handle Namor.
I agree, i would have left that part out. It actually wasn't needed.
I think the scene at the end with M’baku implied Shuri told him to take the thrown I believe he says something like “ Princess Shuri sends her regards” It makes sense cause I don’t get the impression Shuri wants to rule and she trusts M’baku.
Yup mbaku is king but shuri is black panther makes total sense with these characters
I really enjoyed this. You are a wonderful story teller.
Namor stuff is interesting, I actually want more of the Talocan stuff. The Ross and Val scenes that drag the movie a lot for me.
Very good detailed review!👏
I think the M'Baku scene in the epilogue was shown to convey that Shuri and M'Baku had previously agreed that M'Baku will be the new king/Black Panther. I think M'Baku even says "Princess Shuri sends her regards"
This movie kind of blew me away. Ryan Coogler is the man
Been watching you for years love your videos 😊
That mid credit scene ending was PERFECT
This is without a doubt my favorite project from phase 4 it is a return for marvel to the top notch movies I know they can put out and the best thing they have done since endgame.
I loved this movie, the entire cast brought so much emotion into this movie. Shuri is one of my favorite characters now.
I'm glad we got to end phase 4 with a high note, at least. My favorite film of the phase along with No Way Home.
Hey thanks for watching🤗monthly Gifts contests is on & you’ve been selected amongst the console price winner text the above number
I Just thought it was an absolutely amazing film
Such a great contribute to Chadwick
Okoya badass as ever

Very good sequel. Ryan Coogler played really well with the hand he was dealt
Overall very solid film looking forward to seeing more black panther and namor in the future.
idk why but i really liked how the big talikan warrior guy fights okoye and even tho he was toying with her knowing she can't win, it makes me think of dinobot from beast wars where he has a fighting sense of honor and giving a fair chance to kill brutally in battle instead of while shes defenseless
also one thing i noticed was that namor had the crazy eyes lol
At the end with M'Baku, the way I saw it was that he would become King and Shuri would remain as Black Panther. In Civil War we see that both titles don't need to be held by the same person.
Ahhh! So cool. Thanks Sean!
With regards to the secret of the son to shuri, remember She kept rejecting Nakias calls so maybe that was the time nakia was gonna tell her about him
Yeah i think Shuri and M’Baku talked before the epilogue and the implication is she’ll be Black Panther and he’ll be King
Hey Sean! Great review m. I believe the implication is that Shuri didn’t want the throne and supported M’Baku to be the king. It kind of makes sense in the way that we saw him being more or less the wisest person in the movie.
I looooved the positive representation of Haiti. It’s very rare to see the beautiful parts of the country shown in the media
I don’t know why people were wondering who would be the new black panther. I immediately knew it was shuri. Anyone else would not make sense.
Just saw it and I adored it. Respectful and serious, the tone I hoped for.
Audience reactions: I've never been in a cinema so quiet before ever the only time I heard any noise outside of the movie was a laugh at a joke very rarely because there were so few jokes other than that silence. I'm not sure of what others thought of it from my screening but my friends who have seen it all really enjoyed it
General Thoughts: I have never been taken on such an emotional rollercoaster in a movie, when I left I was at a loss for words and very deep in Thought I couldn't stop thinking about it all night it was all still sinking in. Its something that you need to see for yourself to truly understand how good it is and in cinemas is the best way to do so
Death of T'Challa: This caught me off guard with the opening. We all knew that tragically T'Challa would've died because tragically we lost Chadwick, but what I didn't expect was us to see the death. I'm not sure how I expected them to handle this but that really surprised me. They handled this all really well though. Having the Marvel intro be of just Chadwick was a moving tribute too I was so close to crying as soon as I saw that
The World Wants Vibranium: This set the stage perfectly for the rest of the movie, showing how vulnerable Wakanda is especially now that they don't have a Black Panther
Enter Namor: OK so to answer your question about whether they're allies or enemies. Wow just wow
Ironheart: I had a lot of fun watching IronHeart and this makes me even more excited for her series! While I wish she had more of a role in the story I'm fine with her not as this is an introduction to her and she served her purpose in this movie. I really enjoyed Shuri and RiRis scenes too they were all great I hope we see more of them! Okoye being stripped of her rank too omg that was really unexpected
Namors Backstory: This story oh my god... that was painful to watch. It was a little too much exposition at once throughout this entire part though not just in the backstory.
CIA: Definitely the worst part of the movie they took me out of the experience a lot if anything had to be cut it should be them. Although, side note I don't think anything could be really added or removed from this movie. It's just a case of if anything HAD to be they should be
Namors Revenge: I know I said Queen Ramonda and Shuris chat is my favourite scene but, this one is another favourite. Especially, with just how cold Namor was after this that mood change of him once again hit hard
Shuris Preparation: When watching this I was hoping Shuri would see Queen Ramonda but honestly I'm glad it was Killmonger that's so much better storytelling that shows just how much of a dark place Shuris in and drives the plot really well
Final Battle: Chills absolute chills! That's all I can say. I was really surprised at just how far this went especially with burning Namor that much. I'm glad Shuri didn't end up killing Namor though I was hoping he'd be in more projects so this means he may be now
The epilogue: I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused by that M'Baku scene I hope that's explained in a future project as that's so confusing.
Mid-Credit scene: Having the reveal of T'Challa having a son oh my gosh that had me in tears what a beautiful note to end the movie on
Conclusion: Honestly, I'm glad we didn't get a second post-credit scene this worked so much better with just the one. Overall this movie is a solid 9/10 one of my favourite MCU movies
Personally I love that it was longer, I’d much rather more scenes than necessary than the movie falling short of character interaction
Angela bassett deserves an oscar for this performance i swear

Also I’m so glad they didn’t didn’t kill off Naymor
Excellent review…best on the internet
not a masterpiece, but solid movie.
If Shuri was there M'Baku would have to challenge her
Great review
Awesome story
i interpreted the ending as mbaku being the new king since shuri didnt show up
Can you imagine being in the writers room for this movie……they really did their best to make it make sense without feeling cheap or that cheesy Disney/Marvel feel to it.
I took it as shuri giving m'baku the throne but i guess that would be weird…? I didn't understand that scene either
Movie of the year
If you enjoyed watching Black Panther:
-struggle with believing in the spiritual aspects of their heritage and question the existence of their guardian deity
-overcome grief and anger by choosing a less destructive path that doesn't expose their people to great danger
-afterward discovering their predecessor kept a pretty significant secret hidden away for years
Then chances are you'll enjoy the sequel to Black Panther because they do all of that AGAIN this time with everyone's favourite memeing scientist Princess Shuri of Wakanda in the titular role.
1. #RIPChadwickBoseman
2. This movie, while not as magical as the first movie, was pretty much incredible despite every hurdle there is.
Also, if Angela Bassett doesn't win the Oscar for this, I will be furious.
Her performance in this movie was truly incredible.

*SPOILERS FOR BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER*
Agreed. Also will add there was ZREO need for RiRi to be there and get suits were horrible
@F you’re showing a lot of sides to yourself with that comment. You must be one of those oh if you didn’t like it you’re just an ist
I agree with all the things you said! Thanks
