Those threads on the valve body actually don't hold the copper. There used to hole the sleeve that holds the valve in place. That was actually a super clean install.
You can use threads, but soldering is best practice for shower valves and what I was always thought when replacing them. Though I used pro press just because it was inside a wall cavity so made it safer and faster to press on inside the wall rather than solder
I personally prefer soldering but most of the people I’ve seen coming into the trade are being taught speed is the key. Soldering is becoming a thing of the past. I’ve used every method possible and they have their advantages and drawbacks. But in the video between the stem wells it was brazed. Too much heat or wrong torch could cause issues. Press fittings are not a good idea they are expensive and the tool is pricey. IMO
So when i have someone plumbing my house, cause i plan on building, is it unreasonable to have them give me a rundown on the plumbing in the crawlspace? If i am willing to pay for that time.
The solder actually will get “pulled into” the fitting. That’s how it seals. It seals from within the fitting not just the small amount of solder you can see around the fitting. When soldering the pipe has to be very clean and flux applied. Then a torch will heat the fitting and pipe. The solder will follow the heat. Look up a few videos how it’s done in detail.
Why didn’t you ad a set of isolation valves. If and when the stems fail you will need to turn the water off to the whole dwelling again. Big inconvenience
Good job like the screw on spout 😊
Mad skills B👏🏽
nice job what's the cost for a repair like this materials and labor
Why solder when you could have used them threads? If your answer is solders better then why did you use the pro press?

@@austinsonger388 are you explaining how it holds? That’s not what I asked sir.

In Australia you can't even use threads in the wall just in case the leak has to be locksealed so was good idea to weld inside the wall and b pres

When you solder the pipe, is it supposed to cover all around the pipe? Is that what it will seal it from leaking?

@@everythinghomerepair1747 you're good at it, thank you
Very cheap faucet
Its going to leak and fall apart quick
Why not clean up the wall before replacing the plumbing
It was painted over, hard to clean things off without rubbing the paint off too
Why not Pex?
Cheap ass faucet, you will be replacing stems and springs and rubber cups every 6 month's 😢😅
Landlord special as they say. It’s a rental and this is all they’d put in haha

maybe customer just didn’t approve
Any customer replacing a 3 handle on this crap surround is cheap as hell. That customer was probably going nuts over $250 lol
Gloves LOL
Shouldn’t be using 95/5 soft solder to braze dis-similar metals . I/s
Ăsta-i praf ! , nu are nici o treaba cu instalațile !
Typical plumber...beat it to fit, paint it to match

It may have been an option. I don't see why either.
