Hi! Just wanted to say again that you DO NOT need to use this hack that I use to create any of today's backgrounds. Use what works fro you! I just like to share with you things I discover that are helpful. But the techniques? Use any inks you have and have FUN!
This is a really great way to segment your work. So many ways to create backgrounds in one video helps reinforce that technique. Thanks so much for all the work you create and share. I'm continually blown away by what you do.
Thank you so much for all the videos you make. No one does it better. Your instructions are nice and clear and I love that you show so many examples. Don’t ever change and don’t ever stop.
Thank you for another wonderful video. I especially liked that you showed us how to take the sticky mat off the back of the cardstock. I've been pulling the cardstock away and it really gets curly.
I really loved the colorful pink and purple backgrounds! I will definitely try this with my sticky mat. Thanks for sharing and giving us so much inspiration!
Thank you Jennifer....I have the Misti sticky mats, and when I separated the mat and cardstock, my card was ruined. Now I know that I need to pull the mat away from the card like you said. Will give it a try!
Life changing hack for all those blending techniques! Thank you for the very thorough demonstration of this new mat. Can’t wait for mine to arrive! Have a wonderful Saturday!💜💗
Hi Jennifer, I like that you give alternatives and make the materials optional! That said, I REALLY want both the Media Grip Mat and the Stick and Stamp Mat - as soon as they make their way to Europe (or saved up enough for p&p from the US to Europe, haha!), even more so with your great ideas for using them! Thank you for the inspiration you provide. Looking forward to tomorrows video! Best regards, Nicola
I bought the waffle flower stencil mat after watching you use it in your videos. I hope that would work the same as the new media grip sheet. I cannot have it all, but was tempted after watching this video! I have a sticky mat and will see if that works better with the stencil mat.I like the idea of the sticky mat keeping the paper from warping.
Thanks Jennifer! Cards look awesome. Can’t wait for tomorrows video. Adding two new products are not in my budget, and I like my waffle flower media mat. It works great for me. Thank you for your honesty admitting that we don’t need these products. Have a great night!
Wonderful backgrounds & beautiful cards. I’m so excited about the tips you’ve shared. I have a sticky mat from Amazon that you suggested a couple years ago. I’ll be cutting up the extra to use for the back of my card panels. I’m wondering if you might be willing/interested in doing a video to share all the tips you have with the sticky mat? In so many videos you share different tips. I was just thinking it would be so nice to have all of the tips in one place. I appreciate all that you share with us Jennifer. You are truly remarkable. Thank you!
It does not matter how long your videos are, I love them all! I have been waiting for so long (like a lot of others I preume) for the sticky mats to come back into stock at Simon Says. Keep the ideas, tips and tricks coming they are so appreciated.
Ooohhhh, I like these backgrounds and all the beautiful cards you turned them into! That tip is a great tip and I'll be giving that a try when I get the Tim Holtz mat. Thank you for sharing your experience and I'll be looking forward to see your next video
So inspiring and such a great idea with the media mat and sticky mat to hold things still. I don't like getting inky fingers, so I'm really inspired by this! Another wonderful video. I'm off to check out the cards created with these backgrounds xoxo
Wow, fabulous video!! And how amazing that the sticky mat keeps the paper from warping, big hack for me!! THX! Pergaos also an idea for anti-warping when you emboss???
Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity. Awesome ❤️👏Love those backgrounds. The misty mat and media grip are super helpful. I plan on getting both.
FAB Jennifer if you could only purchase one...would chose the TH sticky matt or the Waffle flower media matt? **Sorry, I do understand what your job is, just wondering if you had a preference.😬
this is tough. will love the white surface of the WF mat and will still use it sometimes. however, it has less grip then the media grip mat. so for THIS purpose? The grip mat.
Thanks for asking this. I had just ordered the Waffle flower mat before the grip was introduced and was wondering the same thing...when would you use one vs the other? A comparison video would be helpful.....
Hey, Jennifer, I am intrigued by your new way of inking with the sticky mat and the grip mat. I see you cut them to size. I know why you trim the sticky mat to size, since you use it in the misti etc. I have a mat suitable to use as a grip mat, but I am loathe to cut it up. Is there any advantage to trimming it to size? I do multiple size cards, so I would do some serious hacking of these mats. Haha
I am using them for different things. You can see how I used the grip mat inn this video. But I love the Waffle Flower mat for stenciling so I can put the stencil up against the corner.
Love these ideas and all of your videos. I do have a questions though, how many brayers you own? Do you wash between colors or just roll off until the brayer is clean enough?
Love, love, love you! Thanks for all the techniques. I do have one question. Why didn't he make this sticky mat WHITE? I would so much have preferred the white as the color.
I haven't. I prefer letting things dry on their own. I like the result better. Not sure if the grip mat will hold up to heating but heating the sticky mat is not a good idea.
I tried your sticky mat for watercolor paper, and my paper still warped and pulled up. I don't think I oversaturated it with water. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas? I was really excited to try this instead of taping paper down to a hardboard. Thanks Jennifer, love your videos!
May I ask where did you get the white holder thing that holds the ink pad and lid? I have never seen this before but looks like something that I could use.
@@jennifermcguireink thanks! I was hoping you would say something I have in my stash. 😂😂😂 guess I need to add this to my never ending must have supply list 🤦♀️
The Misti sticky mat seems to be a really great idea to keep stock from rolling up. However, the Misti sticky mat seems to be sold out everywhere (I see only 2 sites where it was sold anyway.) Do you know if it will be coming back into stock? Thanks!
@@jennifermcguireink Thank you. You might put the bug in their ear since you made reference to their product--which means It could be flying off the shelves if they would just stock it up. :-)
Wow❣️ They look messy and turn out beautiful. How do you do that?! Seriously, mine don’t turn out like that. I think I need to try the double mat technique. I love that they dry flat. Off to Michael’s I go 😄 because I can’t wait to try it. Thanks Jennifer❣️
They will come back in stock. I have used the Nicapa StandardGrip Cutting mat from Amazon as a sticky mat before Brutus Monroe and My Sweet Petunia came up with one but it is thicker and a bit harder to cut down but it can be done.
@@jennifermcguireink Thanks! I did the hack with a light grip cricut mat and cut it to fit both my original and mini Misti. Today the Brutus Monroe just came back in stock but mine work ok.

I appreciate the combination of your "engineering " and very creative brain…
My sister and I always say "if Jennifer Mcguire does it we can too". We love your advice!! Thank you. And looking forward to tomorrow's video.
My favorite tip is the sticky mat to keep the card from curling. Your inking is effortless and so pretty. Looking forward tomorrow's video.🌷🌷

More great ideas for making my crafting and creative life easier! Thank you, Jennifer, it’s going to be a great inky day!
It makes a lot of sense that the media mat sticks better to the back of the sticky mat! Thanks
Thank you for another wonderful video. I especially liked that you showed us how to take the sticky mat off the back of the cardstock.

OH MY…these are WONDERFUL backgrounds…I LOVE making my own backgrounds on cards. TY Jennifer!!! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
Absolutely brilliant! I just hate getting my fingers all inky, so this is perfect - thanks so much!

I love the idea of the sticky mat and media mat together and the fact that it eliminates warping!

I saw this new product online and appreciate being shown that cutting it up makes it very usable. Good job!
Glad you like it!
The gripping mat and sticky mat combination is brilliant! Thanks for the awesome tips, Jennifer!
Thanks for all these tips. 'See' you soon for part 2.

Lovely backgrounds Jennifer,
I'll definitely give these a go. I don't really do much with my inks but this I think I can do. 🥰

Thank you for your videos,, they are fun and instructive. What is the difference between waffle flower water media mat and the media grip mat
You really only need one. I wash off the colors only if I don't want anything transferring. Easy to do with a wet cloth
@@jennifermcguireink Thanks so much ❤

No idea! Sorry
I would like to know what Simon says stamp colors you used in this video.
great ideas. bummer that All the sticky mats have been out of stock for quite a while.
I know that is disappointing :(. They will come back in stock
@@jennifermcguireink I am going to try to cut up some old cameo mats to try till they are back in stock.
Do you think a silicone mat will work in place of the sticky mat??
So fabulous Jennifer! Have you tried drying the cardstock while still stuck on the sticky mat?
I haven't. I prefer letting things dry on their own. I like the result better. Not sure if the grip mat will hold up to heating but heating the sticky mat is not a good idea.

Hello, could you please share the link of the follow up video? I can't find it :(
May I ask where did you get the white holder thing that holds the ink pad and lid? I have never seen this before but looks like something that I could use.
www.inkstandshop.com They are AWESOME!
awesome idea...but where are your links
Head on over to the blog post and they are all there
@@jennifermcguireink thank you
Could a cricut mat be used in place of the MISTI sticky grid?
Yes. That's what I used before these came out
Are the sticky mats the same as the cutting mats for Silhouette or cricut?
They serve a similar purpose. I used to use those mats before the new ones came out
I wish companies would include a Mum version.
would this midia grip matt hold an ink pad from sliding around?
It does though I use the Ink Stand Shop ink holders for that.
Is there an alternative for mica spray? Thanks!
There are shimmer sprays though I haven't tried all of them to know how they differ

I would also say, yes it it is quicker, but also looser, which looks more artistic.
How does Media Grip differ from Ken Oliver’s Best Ever Craft Mat?
I'm sorry I haven't used Ken Oliver's mat.
There are NO sticky grid mats available anywhere. Any other suggestions?
They will come back in stock. I have used the Nicapa StandardGrip Cutting mat from Amazon as a sticky mat before Brutus Monroe and My Sweet Petunia came up with one but it is thicker and a bit harder to cut down but it can be done.
