Like many here i followed this tutorial because of my lack of engineers. Been playing aout a year but have been mainly focused on learning (light) combat, exploring and lots of trading missions. Have mainly seen the Thargoids as "Out of reach" for Jo Average players like myself so haven't paid too much attention to it. But seeing as this was the last one.... Without your tutorial it wouldn't have been possible. I just watched your latest live stream where you finally kill it - made me laugh out loud as i was literally following your guide up to the moment you started the live stream. If i'd left it until today i'd have missed out completely. Many thanks for a patient and clear and easy to follow guide, much appreciated. Co, IamStoer
I tried Thargoid combat for the first time last night after watching this. I’m generally an explorer. I had a blast! I used the same ship you did. Some things I learned between dying. * Boosting to the Titan increases your heat and a higher chance at hitting a mine along the way. But I would just synthesize more Heatsinks. * The Titan and her little shithead buddies can get really temperamental at times. * And if you want to play in group or a squad BUT you don’t want to get ganked (looking at you Plotu and Frank) Start off in Solo. When you drop out of Supercruise, assuming no Thargoids are around, exit to main menu after the 15 second timer and then log back in in Open or Group. * WHEN, not if, the game glitches and you are forced to exit the game. When you log back in you will be reset to the entrance again. Regardless of you were already fighting the Titan. * Best of all. You keep whatever you have earned during battle. So blowing up isn’t too big of a deal. Just make sure you see that blue text telling what you have earned that round. I did engineer my thrusters to 3. lol I can’t get above that yet because the Engineer isn’t back in the Sirius system yet. I need to level up with him before getting the Engineer I really need.
I was also able to do a solo bombing run with truly no engineering or pre built ship, it sucked, I could only get about 3-4 vents max but it was fairly safe because there were so few thargoids, but doing it with others was definitely more effective but also more dangerous, either way tho even without engineering or a pre built ship it should be possible to get your contribution in
Sorry! I feel that way about the metal Mechan plays! it's a tough choice on whether to bother adding music at all as it takes an extra 10 min of video editing... Maybe I'll skip all music for the next few :)
Also looking at mat trading to spam synthesis for heat sinks. Almost like a ship with 6 utility slots might do even better, just for heat sink ammo count.
Old player returning for this event. I have the jumpstart Krait and a few engis unlocked. What engineering would you suggest? I don't recall what mats I have stored, but a few tweaks might help get me under 20% heat. Thanks for this video, good to see realistic run.
@@Kandorr617 check out my video where I interview commander Mechan, where he talks about exactly what a returning player should bring, and it does start with a lKrait mark 2, and has some specific engineering to unlock with links in video notes. In general you want a low heat power plans, fast engines, and engineered hull and armor for more hitpoints.
To get the 6 FSDs you have to use a Guardian Missile right? Or just do damage to the core with any AX Weapon? I’m trying to gather the courage to fly out there. First time fighting Thargoids
I believe you just have to damage it. I'd encourage you to try it, I was like "mehh this isn't for me" but then I tried it and it was pretty fun, also some funny chats with the other commanders while in there.
My mandalay sits about 22% unengineered, just a little slower... curious what the cobra could do. Because if we're talking just shooting the core, you have three hardpointd for missiles, and wouldn't need to boost.

Nice explanations, very clear. Music sucked, but I still really appreciated the info.

hit silent running when pulse hit you will prevent heat damage .

Ya on my accounts with full engineering I make heatskins, caustic sinks and limpets on site in thargoid fights.
Trying Fer d lance next for the utes.

@@AtlasRandGaming thank you for the reply. I appreciate your time. I hope this isn't the grand finale of the story, so many old players are back!
awesome run 😍
Many Pulses at the big anti-Zeno group!

I did my first run yesterday. It was honestly super fun. Made probably 20 million in an hour while figuring it out.

Any weapon that does damage... so anything from the experimenta catagory sold at Rescue Ships (or my carrier in Q1 Eridani [Galt] Buy Parts here)
How do you drop the caustic sink?
@@hackskrap you have to a sight it to a fire group
@@AtlasRandGaming I did but for some reason they arent dropping. I need to go back in and test out some buttons lol. Thanks for the guide by the way!
I’d highly suggest getting thermal vent on that beam laser, efficient is entirely useless and cools you way less and slower. Other than that good vid
@@majorglitz5477 lol did you read the title? That account has 0 engineers unlocked ;)

just watched a video of a cobra doing bombing runs yesterday... it runs near 700 m/s and has enough slots.
o7 CMDR! I was in the instance with ya, sent a few Repair limpets your way.
o7 mate!
U just need hit titan’s pineapple and earn money no matter how much and it will be rewarded by frontiers with brand new FSDs
well the rescue ship is denying me access.

@@AtlasRandGaming lol. thank you. I think someone actually mentioned that... Forgive. Memory retention ain't what it once was... (sigh)
Just can,t get through the caustic cloud.
You need at least 1 caustic sink... also need to have the other gizmo to avoid the pushback which I mention in video.
"Quick" - 50 minutes video 😂
