I actually love how Apple Bloom and Maud are two of the ponies who bonded first, like, Maud's usually not a wordy one or the best conversationalist, but she actually got along well with the youngest, makes me think that despite her blank face she's actually kind of fond of kids (going back to Pinky's ecstatic recollection of her and Maud's rock candy necklace exchanges). I dunno, maybe I'm overthinking this but I guess I just like the youngest-eldest dynamic.

Pinkie Pie's story about how she got her cutie mark wasn't just something she made up. Those ponies in her flashback WERE her actual family.
Ingrid Nilsson is so versatile. Aside from voicing Maud, she also voiced her sisters. While Limestone is pretty stern, Marble is such a sweetheart!
I actually believe Applejack was very in character in this case. As early as Episode 4 of Season 1, the huge flaw Applejack has exhibited is that the Apple tradition is the best way, and in some moments, the only way to do things, the reason why she refused help for so long in "Applebuck Season", she has always had an innate stubbornness that the Apple way is best. And as this episode shows, that can come with serious consequences.

Pinkies, mom and dad and her other two sisters were originally shown in season one. I believe it was the cutie mark Chronicles.

Applejack does have a tendency to be stubborn and close minded about things. She likes things the way she's used to them and sees other ways as wrong. Here, as she says on the train, she got so fixated on the traditions being celebrated being different than she's used to that she never bothered to ask why they were different or what meaning they might have (you'll notice the other Apples didn't have that problem). It's a flaw she's shown in the past but she's proven right a lot of the time so many forget it's a flaw.
Her redecorating someone else's home without permission still makes me cringe so hard every time I see the episode.
Can't wait for a certain characters return. They just inject so much more fun into this show.
A certain character happens to be my favorite for that very reason.
Love Limestone while Applejack's eating the soup. She's got a look on her face that can only be read as "Yes, suffer you fool! Suffer for my pleasure!"
