    Hi Paul!
Just to let you know I had the chance to take my 3XL Air Seconds on a 3 week trip around Europe. I actually used the tent for 10 days. But more than enough to put it to the test. I pitched it and put it down 4+4 times, as I was touring heavily. And I even had to weather through a rainstorm in the Alps where it was raining cats and dogs.
I can't be happier with it. Pitching it is super easy. Putting it down, even if wet, is not that messy. If dry, it's super easy.
The tent is really waterproof. Not a drip inside the tent, despite a nasty nasty rainstorm pouring for hours.
Being picky, I would ask for a larger awning in order to provide a comfortable (and dry) ensuring entry and exit-way of the tent whilst raining.
By the way, it also withstood the strong winds of the rainstorm without hesitation. Not an issue at all.
And of course I also endured hot and cold temperatures. Comfort in the heat was awesome. Whilst in the cold you'd better have an adequately rated sleeping bag. I didn't and had to endure the cold. But that's not the tent's fault.
The space inside is fantastic. I can set up a full bed system (bed frame and mattress) and still have plenty of head room. In that set up you can also benefit of the extra-height of your sitting position, which feels more natural to move around and put your shoes on and off. Something that is also enabled by the great indoor space the tent provides.
It is simply put a fantastic tent. One that I will take care of and enjoy many years to come, hopefully.

      @@ItsaCampingThing Indeed!
The geometry of the tent took me aback when I first saw it advertised and for sale.
So I was a bit weary at the beginning. There aren't many reviews other than from southeast asia or in portuguese (and I can't really understand them, which is a shame).
And your review was enlightening! You pinpoint all the features brilliantly. And I can't quite understand why Decathlon has discontinued this product!
When I realized how much of a breakthrough this tent signifies (I have just watched a video on Decathlon's UK TH-cam channel featuring the presentation of the new line of inflatable tents and this tent was arguably the brainchild of the designers), and I also realized that Decathlon was discontinuing it, and that I had the chance to steal it for 90€ (regular price is 150€), I stormed the shop and took one of the last four available.
I had been pounding for a while about getting a rooftop tent. But I discarded the idea as soon as I realized that I couldn't move the car with the rooftop tent deployed 🤔
Then I started looking at standalone tents, which are much more affordable and give you that extra flexibility. And I found a very positive review on the 2 seconds cousin of this tent: the Fresh&Black 3 XL. And frankly, I was kinda not fully convinced.
The interior geometry didn't grant enough clearance to set two inflatable bed frames without feeling too close to the ceiling. And also the lower wind rating of the 2 seconds arquitecture was unresting, in comparison with the better performance of the inflatable technology.
However, because Decathlon has discontinued this model, I didn't see it in the catalogue and I thought that they were only designing inflatable tents for 4 berths and above. And I wanted a tad smaller one.
And then I came across with the sale advertising and your video and it was game over!
I tested it yesterday at the backyard and I am really happy with it. My plan is to take it to regattas around Catalonia, Spain, and southern France, and maybe to other places in Europe as well. This solution frees up the roof rack where I can load the boat and the bike.
Sport and nature! What's not to like?

@@PereAndreuUbachdeFuentes Dont worry. I’ve just said I’ve had a lovely comment from a viewer but will keep it anonymous as its me that chooses to put myself out here. It’s just a five minute video saying how your comment reminded me of how good this tent is and that it’s a shame the Decathlon has discontinued it. As I would have liked to see that unique design carried forward. Maybe even a 4 person variation as a lot of tents these days are the same but with diffferent branding. Which is boring
But no I do want to thank you for your kind comments. It really is appreciated. For me TH-cam was just a way to show my camping trip videos to the rest of the family and friends. Because who has disc drives these days. So much easier to post the videos on here. Then came Covid and lockdown and thus Tent and gear reviews.
For me it’s just lovely to know my videos have helped other people make a purchasing choice. I’m no different to anyone else. I just know what I like and making videos its kind of fun. Well you have to have a laugh I think. Now more so than ever. So once again thank you for your kind comments. It is very much appreciated

Thanks for the great detailed review. It helped me choose a tent to travel around Europe by car with my girlfriend, especially since I managed to get it for 70 £ at the Decathlon sale in my country. I think it is a comfortable to use and interesting structure.
I have a question, could you tell me what font did you use at the end of your video for text about pros and cons?

      @ItsaCampingThing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you for your kind comments and I'm glad my video helped you. It is a very nice tent and perfectly suited to two people. Plus that is a bargain at that price.
The font I use is in Photoshop. I've been having trouble with text layers in Premiere recently so use Photoshop instead. The font you have asked about is Bebas Neue.
I'm not sure if that is a pre-installed font or one I have downloaded.
I have set the height to 80% and the width to around 90 to 92%. I've also spaced twice between words because I felt that it looked to jumbled up with using one space. I hope that helps.
Have a wonderful and safe trip and thanks for watching.

@@dominiktkaczyk8595 Your more than welcome. Yes it's nice to have a play with fonts in photoshop and maybe add your own personal touch to some of them. The Quechua 3XL is a great tent. I've just booked a trip for the end of October and taking the 3XL for that one. I'm really happy my review has helped. I know how difficult it is finding a tent or camping equipment that suits your own needs is. Believe me when I say the gear ( including tents ) that I've bought over the years that didn't live up to what I needed is huge.
The Quechua 3XL is probably one of my favourite purchases of the last year. It's just a really great size, quick to set up and it's a shame more tents are not like it in my opinion. Anyway thanks for your kind comments and I hope you have a lot of fun adventures with your 3XL. From a very rainy Leicester in the U.K. Have a wonderful day.

@@ItsaCampingThing Thanks Paul, nice to hear from You. This was the last chance to buy this inflatable tent. Decathlon gave up this solution and replaced it with a new structure, operating on a different principle. For now, they have introduced a 2-person tent 2 SECONDS EASY - FRESH & BLACK. It's even faster, but built like an umbrella, and I think the frame won't last, so I think we are lucky to be able to get the 3XL tent yet. Until next time or see you on some trip!

    • @ItsaCampingThing
      @ItsaCampingThing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Always a pleasure chatting to you too Dominik. That's a great shame that Quechua have given up on the 3XL. Personally I would have liked to see that design evolved in to maybe a 4 person variation or at least carry the current one on. It has quite some innovative features that puts a lot of the competition in the shade.
The 2 Seconds Easy. I've seen on-line and I'm yet to be convinced by it to be honest. The inside dimensions are only 205 cm and that's not too good for someone like me at 5ft 10in tall. I like the idea of it and the innovation behind it. But like you say it looks a bit like an umbrella and they don't fair too well in the wind.
Personally I don't think Quechua or a lot of the camping manufactures released there full 2020 designs this year. Due to Covid-19 and the lock downs that took place across the globe. Which would have undoubtedly impacted sales. So hopefully in the Spring or maybe Spring 2022. Things will return to normal and those designs held back will be available for us to enjoy.
I'm filming a new video this weekend Dominik and I have a trip to film in a few weeks. Another trip the week after and so on. All to be filmed and posted here. Ive just started an Instagram page for this channel as well. So it's busy times ahead haha.
Thanks for messaging Dominik and stay safe my friend

Great detailed video review. The comments are turned off on some of your others which is a shame. I bought the air seconds 4.1 after watching your review. Could you please review the camp bed air 70 and inflatable SIMS and air mattresses next please?

    • @ItsaCampingThing
      @ItsaCampingThing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you for pointing that out. I had no idea comments were not applied to all my videos. I've just amended my settings to allow comments. So thank you for letting me know.
Yes later in September I'm taking the 4.1 to the north of England for a few days ( unless there is another lockdown that is ). I will be using the Camp bed Air 70 so will do a review there.
In fact I will be using 2 together to make a double bed. My dog Buster is coming along and is a nervous dog. Hence the double.
The sims or Quechua Comfort 65.... I find them a little too firm for my liking and have been using a cheap double air bed when having two camp bed air 70's strapped together. This pushed the height of the bed up which I had issues with in the video.
So I now sleep with my head at the door end as I found the tapper at the back of the tent to be an issue for me.
With the two Camp Bed Air 70's together and a double air bed on top it makes for a very comfortable nights sleep.
The sims.....I could live with but probably wouldn't enjoy as much.
That said if I was using a single Camp Bed Air 70 then would probably use the Quechua Comfort 65. Despite it being not as comfortable as an air bed. The Comfort 65 makes the whole structure firmer and more stable. I have fallen off a single Camp Bed Air 70 with a single air bed on top once.
The only negative aspect of the Camp Bed Air 70's is that they are difficult to get in the bag they came with. They inflate very quickly. Use the same pump as the 4.1 Tent and you can adjust how firm or soft you want them. Plus you can strap two together to make a double.
The Sims are a little too firm well for me anyway and you need to be careful when inflating them. The exit valve is right next to the intake valve. Last year in Northumberland I had to visit Gooutdoors ( for a cheap air bed ) because I thought my Comfort 65 had sprung a leak. It hadn't. It was just that I had caught the exit valve when blowing it up. Half way through the night I feared the worst as it had deflated.
So if you do buy a comfort 65. Double check the exit valve is pushed all the way in before you put down. Otherwise you might wake up fearing a deflation like I did.
Sorry for the long reply and I hope what I've said here helps. I will get around to a video as soon as I can.
I hope you like your Quechua 4.1 and I'm happy my video helped in some way.
      Paul

Busters Boy, thanks for this info.
Yes thank you the 4.1 review video really helped us to decide on that one. The wind and rain was horrendous last week camping in Staffordshire, we nearly gave up and went home. The air beams came down on us in the night (our fault due to slightly under inflating 2 of them) so therefore rained in a little in the living area through the mosquito netted roof vent and side window vent but I’ve never experienced extreme weather like that before. We managed to get the tent up in 10 minutes flat at the next site in Surrey during the drizzle, which felt like an achievement.
I’m looking forward to your video to see the campbed air in action as a double. I would be getting two and joining them together if I did get them, but I’m just unsure if they are worth the investment and unsure of what to put on top of it. I was wondering if the SIMs might be a bit too firm for me. We normally just use an air bed but overinflated it last time and it’s broken. I am also interested to know if using an air mattress on top of the air bed 70 would be colder than SIMs or if you would use both or is that overkill?

@@gemma6907 Your welcome Gemma. It still amazes me that anyone watches my videos let alone purchases the items I show on here. So it's always nice to hear whenever I've helped in some way. As I too know how difficult it is finding the right products.
The weather we've had this summer has been so up and down and one day baking hot or pouring down with rain like it is now.
10 minutes is a good time to get the 4.1 up I must say. I average around 17 minutes. I've tried to get the dog to help but I think I'm at a loss on that one haha.
Two camp bed air 70's is a lot of money as you so rightly say. Also with the 4.1 with one large door. It will cover a fair amount of that opening. But they do clip together easily. Though you will have an inflation valve at opposite ends. So If you want to add more air in to one for example that can be tricky but not impossible.
Personally I'd say the Camp Bed Air 70 just adds height. So if you don't like the idea of sleeping on floor or have trouble getting down then they do help in that respect. It's difficult to really judge but I'd say it's hard to notice them once your are in bed. It's just easier getting in and out and for what £100 maybe that's something to consider. Plus the extra bulk in the car during traveling to your campsite.
As for the Air Bed on top. The slates that cover the Camp Bed Air 70 have a plastic coating. So if you use an Air Bed on top they usually have a plastic underneath. Best to put a large blanket or throw over the Camp Bed Air 70's once they are inflated. Then put your air bed on top. Otherwise you won't get a good nights sleep from the creaking of the two plastics rubbing. Just something I leant from my last trip to Norfolk.
As for the cold then I don't see any thermal properties with the SIM. I don't see any kind of R rating on the Comfort 65 as say with a sleeping bad.
The trip to Norfolk I took my parents and it was my Dad using the Double bed. The two Camp Bed Air 70's clicked together with a cheap Gooutdoors double airbed on top. I bought a reflective mat which I put over the air bed. Then a blanket over that for added insulation and to protect the airbed from the dogs claws.
Ive just looked on Amazon and its a: Forfar Outdoor Camping Picnic Sleeping Mattress Pad for £3.59. It's not a double but my Dad didn't complain of the cold and it was a wet and chilly July trip.
Using the Camp Bed Air 70, a SIM and an air bed is pretty unstable. Though you mention using it as a double.....hmmmm. Yeah the only problem I see there is that your adding more height and the back of the Air Seconds 4.1 really isn't that high. The SIM is probably around an inch high. But with the Camp Bed Air 70 and an Air Bed. All that leaves you is about 12 to 18 inches of room for either your feet or head depending on which end you sleep. So to add another inch for no real benefit is maybe a tad over kill to be honest. Plus the straps that are on the Camp Bed Air 70. At each corner of the Camp Bed 70 there are elasticated straps. You use there to secure the air bed or SIM in place. They just about fit on an airbed.....just. So to add a SIM in-between then thats putting more pressure on these straps.
I've just read all that back. I tell you what Gemma.....If the weather is nice this weekend I will put the Quechua Air 4.1 up in the garden and make a video of it. Im intrigued myself on some of it as I've not used the SIMS in about a year. Plus I need to check the 4.1 out before my trip anyway.
