    Thanks for the review. We bought our tent (the 2022 version) only yesterday so we haven’t had time to test it, but we based our choice on a couple of reviews we saw elsewhere. Yours was even better so we’re pretty confident we made the right choice!

      Thank you for you're kind comments. The Quechua Air Seconds 4.1 Fresh and Black is a great tent. Is it perfect? No....and yes there are one or two areas where it could be improved. But it is still a very good tent in my honest opinion.
      For me it has many features and benefits that suit me and my camping needs. The white exterior to try and keep the tent cool as well as the ventilation. The Blackout bedroom which blocks a lot of the light out and plus it goes up easily enough for one person to set it up.
      I've used my 2020 edition many times and never had any issues. I hope have many happy trips away with yours too.

    Hi... Great review. Just a comment re: foot print. I have a similarly shaped tent, which also had no foot print available... So I made one.
    I just bought a tarp (you know those blue ones) from a DIY store. I measured & folded it to the dimensions I needed, and stuck the folds with duck tape, rather than cutting the tarp and causing it to fray.
    I made it so the tent overlaps it in every direction by about 2 or 3 cms so that any rain running off the tent doesn't land on it and end up pooling underneath the tent.
    It cost about €18 to make (I'm in Ireland) and it works really well. I peg it down with plastic, round headed, groundsheet pegs that are nice & smooth and won't damage the underside of the tent.
    As I said before... Great revue. Thank you.

      No thank you for your kind comment and I'm glad you made a ground sheet for your tent. They are invaluable I think. Just a little extra protection for your tent and keeps that mud off your tent too.
      The blue sheets I have in abundance. My garden furniture. Coming out of winter looks like the week before Christmas and all I had was blue plastic tarpaulin to wrap everything up in. I'm glad you liked my review.

      @@ItsaCampingThing We are going to a campingsite tomorrow to test it out, I will let you know what we think of it.
      Just a question for you, do you think this tent we have (without air) can be used wintertime? By that i mean Swedish winters, not UK winters haha :) Not unusual to tent during winter here, but wounder how this tent will deal with that?

    • @ItsaCampingThing

      @@jerra21 I really do not know as I am not familiar with your climate. It depends on lots of variables. When it's cold and if one person was in a four person tent. Then it would take longer for that person's body to radiate the air in the tent. If four people were to occupy that tent then it would warm up quicker. There are so many factors that it's impossible for me to answer with a definite answer. Sadly I have no inside information on any of the tents. I can only go on the information regarding the tents performance from the manufacturers website.

      @@ItsaCampingThing Hello mate. We tested our new tent two days earlier this week and just have to say we are more than happy with our tent! Took about an hour to set up the first time, one tentplug was missing but not a problem. Was very hot during daytime (30 degrees C) and black and fresh worked very well, it was not chill in the bedrum but not near as hot as it would be in a tent without FB. Living 'room was briliant, plenty of space for two chairs, table and our dog (german shepherd).
      Easy to pull down, quality seems to be very good! Looking forward to our next campingtrip! After buying an tent with FB, i will never buy a tent without! Next time we camp maybe i can film a littlebit an put on my youtube channel :)

      But I'm looking at parking longer in one place and the poles version of this tent in Decathlon Ireland is a great price right now.. looks luxury space too .... it'd be like having a house from home for me n the dog.. especially on all wet weather days! 😂

      Thank you for your kind words. The version of this tent that I have is the 2020 version. Though the current version is a beige and white colour scheme and has a zipped in ground sheet in the living area. An optional divider would be nice in the tent. I believe that the next size up in this tent has that feature. The Quechua Air Seconds 5.1 Fresh and Black.
      There is the 2 bedroom version of this tent with a bedroom at each side with a smaller living area in the middle. The Quechua Air Seconds 4.2 Fresh and Black. Plus the Quechua Arpenaz 4.2 Fresh and Black which is just the pole version of the air one. Though a lot cheaper and no need for a pump to take with you either. So if space is at a premium when you travel then that maybe a viable alternative.
      Thanks again for your message and have a wonderful weekend

    Hi Paul, great update on the first video. But unfortunately it seems outdated again. Decathlon changed the design and now sells it much more expensive. Too bad I didn't buy one last year. I liked the classic Decathlon color a lot better! Greetings from Germany...

    • @ItsaCampingThing
      @ItsaCampingThing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Wolle Grassmann for your lovely comment. Yes it appears that Decathlon or Quechua have changed the colour of the tent. Like yourself I prefer the green or turquise version that preceded this current cream and white version. The previous incarnations colour scheme contrasts nicely with the white.
      Plus as you say the price has increased. When I purchased it the price was £249 and is now £329. I’m a huge fan of the decathlon range of tents. But an £80 hike in price is a lot. Apart from the change in colour I cannot see any difference from the one that is on sale now and the one I purchased back in April 2020.
      I was thinking of getting the Quechua Air 4.2 with two bedrooms. But was put off by the sickly cream colour with the white. It’s just not as nice to look at I find personally.
      Its a shame as the Quechua brand of tents is one of the best around I find. Especially if your camping at a campsite. The fresh and black feature is remarkably good.
      From here in Leicestershire in the UK. Have a wonderful day.

    Hi great review thanks a lot. I had a question about the ground sheet at 3:00 minutes. For us this seems to be a down side not having the ground sheet zipped to the tent. They state it’s for ventilation but I would have liked to have the option of zipping and unzipping. From your experience will this be an issue with bugs and potentially little animals like mice and other? This seems to be the biggest reason we’re hesitating for this tent. Thanks

    • @ItsaCampingThing
      @ItsaCampingThing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thanks for your comment. The groundsheet on mine is different to the one that Decathlon currently sell. Mine only has a ground sheet that is zipped in at the entrance to the bedroom. The rest is clipped to the inner wall as you saw in the video.
      On the new 2022 version which is beige and white. You should find that it is zipped in at the sides as well.
      But in answer to your second question. I've never had a problem with wildlife entering the tent. Not once. And that's with the older version of this tent.
      I think as long as you are sensible and keep food sealed or wrapped up. Store it away so it cannot sniffed out. Then you should be fine.
      With the newer version you should be even more secure from bugs, wildlife than I am in my 2020 version of this tent. Though there are no guarantees obviously
      I hope that helps.

    Hi, great video. Seriously thinking of getting this model. Do you think you could use a battery operated airpump to inflate the tubes? Ours has several different adaptors and wonder if it might be more suitable and less bulky. It, obviously, wouldn't have the pressure metre on it like the one you have but might be worth considering?

    • @ItsaCampingThing
      @ItsaCampingThing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you or your kind comment.
      Regarding the pump. I've never tried inflating a tent with a battery pump so I really cannot comment. I prefer to go with what Quechua recommend.
      The only thing I will say is that is that yes the pump is bulky and you'll maybe only use it for just inflating the tent. So after the tents up you are left with a bulky pump to store somewhere. So it would be nice if that was either condensed for portability somehow.
      That is a downside with inflatable tents.
      The tent goes up so quickly that I really don't think it really needs to be battery operated. Plus at various times you'll need to pause the inflation to straighten any kinks out as the air goes in. But as I say I've never tried inflating it with a battery pump.
      Sorry

      Ah you see we don't have that problem here in the UK.
      I mean you could apply self adhesive strips of velcro to the inside of the outter and the outside of the basin. Of coarse it's not ideal but is one solution. The only down side of that is if the adhesive isn't good quality then it can peel away and look messy. You would need both surfaces to be super clean before applying the strips. It's a gamble.

    Hi. Do you know if you could get 2 x double air beds in this?

    • @ItsaCampingThing
      @ItsaCampingThing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Mrs K. You can get two double beds in this tent. As long as they are no wider than 140cm wide and 210cm long each.
      I've just been on Decathlon's website and looked at the dimensions of the bedroom area.
      It measures 280cm wide by 210cm long. Some of the double airbeds I've looked at measure 120cm wide. Decathlon do one for £19.99 on their website for example.
      This would only leave you a 40cm gap between the two double airbeds if you chose that option.
      Or no gap if you chose the wider double airbeds at £24.99 which are 140cm wide. Again I'm quoting from Decathlon's website.
      If you are using airbeds you already own. Then best to make sure they do not exceed 140cm wide each. And 210cm in length.

      I would say that your head might be touching the tent. Even at its highest point. I would surgest popping along to your nearest Decathlon and seeing if they have a display model you can have a look at.
      Thanks again for your question and have a lovely day.
