You are always stopping in Mt. Vernon or Ina, IL. I grew up in Zeigler, off exit 65. I like both your trucks, stay safe out there! Enjoy these videos!!
Glad to see your show on Gerald. Good old bud wheels. Don’t miss them. Got them now only on a 1978 Clark forklift. Yes your a hard working man. Just got the oil changed on mine in shop. Going in the house. Had enough for today. My boys done a couple small repair jobs. Well just imagine if you couldn’t do your own fixing. Take care Saturday afternoon.
Man it’s a blessing to be able to fix your own stuff. It’s a pain but it beats having to get in a shop somewhere, wait to get in and wait to get fixed and then have a high bill! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Glad you caught that suspension! Good checking and knowing your truck, reminds me to check mine! Lol. Ive been watching a few of your older videos, your exactly right about the 66 inch side traieler, i dont really know why people even buy em? They are easier for grain carts to load in the field. But it really limits what you can do with a hopper. Ageee ive got 1 84T in 98w tripple axle cornhusker, i can put 1 pile in each hopper and get almost over 80K. Just cutious. Have you looked into tag axles and hauling more tonnage or do you find it to be to much red tape for crossing state lines commercial, you rin a totally diff area than i do. Stay safe, dig what you do. Good vids. Keep er rubber side down.
Yeah man. 66” has its place. Mostly for east of the Mississippi farm work. Wheat, corn, milk and beans. Tags aren’t really relevant where I run with weight laws. I rarely go anywhere where running a tag or a 3 axle trailer helps out
@thedirtytrucker9633 that's interesting, I run on somthing called Map 21, it applies to about 80-90% of what I do. It makes permitting overloads easier. Not easy still a pain to cross state lines commercial, but if you got the axles out west it's usually all good, that Said I have hauled more than a few 80K gross loads on my 8 axle rig. It was a back haul. Sometimes you take what you can get. To me it seems bulk hauling is all about who you know, and putting the pieces together, I also have a couple walking floor trailers with tags, walking floors are great for the wet stuff but it's really hard to find back hauls so it's alot of dead head. So I built what we call the super air system hopper with axles and air systems and its been a much more profitable rig and life got way easier... so I built a couple more hoppers. Question, what do you think about cornhusker trailers? I got 1, am on the fence about its quality, its sure light. But built like it.
Yes sir. Out west is a different animal. Than out east. As far as Cornhusker they are a great trailer. Light and strong. My biggest deal with them is the exposed ribs and the air drag for fuel mileage. It’s kind of a catch 22 between weight and fuel mileage.
boy when it rains it pours. I decided this week I'm not going to get out there and play slip'n'slide this year like I've done in years past. It was a nice feeling knowing the ol'e girl is safe and tucked in in the drive way. hope your time off is good my friend. We're getting back going on Monday.
Man I made the call late Sunday afternoon to go because I was afraid it would be Wednesday before I could leave again. Glad I did. It was bad until I got past Blytheville. It was just cold after that!
@@thedirtytrucker9633Yeah here in West TN it got a little nasty. Luckily the elevator I haul out of decided to do maintenance during the deal so I really didn't miss out on much haha. I been hearing those Prime drivers are hauling into Pine Bluff so watch out for those knuckleheads.
Man i sure don't feel bad for you having to sweat! -40 wind chill in central Nebraska since last week. Mine ain't been shut off yet. Poor cat probably wouldn't start if i did
The fun of trucking that's the part I didn't have to do I had a mechanic in my shop that took care of all my fun s***hope your dad and mother-in-law are doing well
Thanks man! I’m glad I have the place and the resources to do what I do. Everyone is doing good here. Man I hope you are doing good and praying you get better
Now if you're one truck operation I was at 10 truck operation 2 refers two flats with sides 5 walking floors and one hopper and I had a big farm I used to do it all my own but just got to be too much that's the stuff I missed that you do so please keep making these videos and I will keep watching them until I'm incapable be blessed bother
Man I can see that. My wife’s uncle is a big farmer and the parallels between farming and truck are very similar. Too much government control, labor issues and input cost
Hey Gerald, really enjoy the videos! Question: I'm considering getting back into trucking. I started out in my teens working as a diesel mechanic for 7 years. My Dad was an OTR with a reefer. I've been back and forth on whether to haul hopper bottom or aluminum end dump. I lean towards hopper bottom just because of simplicity and a new hopper is cheaper than ED. But it seems like on a lot of your videos you have to deal with very slow load and unload times? Have you ever hauled end dump? Do you think the load and unload times are faster with end dump? Appreciate any input you have! Cyrus
I run a 1994 379 that came factory with budds, one of the best things Ive done is put on new Conmet hub piloted hubs and new wheels. That was before Bidenomics, dont think i could afford it right now...
lol! Man I know. I want to do that to this truck soon. Still trying to figure out if I want to get a low air cutoff for it with hub pilot or just put hub pilot on my air leaf. Either way inflation is t going to make it cheap!
I would sometimes shower and sleep at the shop just 15 minutes from home. I knew if I went home I would get 4 hours of sleep, at the shop I could get 6-7.

Love it. I’ve had the one in the 359 for a year now and got the same one in my 379. I’m not a fan of high backs and I can run enough air in these to sit lower like I like and still have a air in the seat
I found the video of the seat it looks good I need new seat I have a 71 358 small window first yr of the tilt hood I'm putting my round headlights back on I put singles on it but I think I would rather keep the rounds headlights on because there original thanks for the video about putting brighter bulbs in them I am looking maybe hella 4h but gotta get the right ones because they come from Europe and some of them on Amazon ect. Are for right side drive cars thanks bud hang in there hopefully 2025 be better out there b cool on your stool!
Thanks again for another one. Safe travels as always and ready for the next.
I appreciate you watching!
I got a set pilot of hubs for my 87 couple months ago. Pulling the buds off as this video posted. I will not miss them
Less headache on breaking studs & keeping left & right nuts& studs. Unimounts are much easier
Are Ur Budd wheels aluminum
Just the steers. Got 10 aluminum to put on it
Heck no. There is a reason they don’t make the mess anymore😂
Yes. All 10. They are wore out too😂
Gerald. Good to see you, sir. Have a blessed weekend. Thanks for the video.👍👍👍
Thanks Raymond! Have a good weekend!
Glad U caught the suspension issue!!!! Safe Travels out there!!!!
No doubt. I heard that pop earlier that day and got to looking. Glad I found it but I sure didn’t like what I found!

Listen man sometimes truck wash places sometimes can't afford a second bay with equipment to wash trailers out.
As a small business owner I know the struggle. But making guys wait that just need a washout is such a wait of time for the customer

I will man. That set up sounds like what I’d love to do. If I could ever farm and truck to that would be my jam. Stay strong man!!!
Knowing what I now I would have just farmed and kept one hopper truck it was a lot funner than and a hell of a lot less stess

I use to sit like that at Cargill for 8 hours sometimes, use to piss me off
Man it sucks but it’s part of the game in this hopper bottom deal.
Been there done that. When it rains, it pours.
It’s alway something lol!
Is there an option to haul grain instead of all the meal stuff?
Grain is so local and with the unloading hours of these meals around here it’s very limited on what you can make money wisw
