Holy crap...can't believe I found your channel!! Lucky me - I just finished a year-long frame up restoration of my 84 Virago 1000 and I'm about to pick up an 87 FZR1000 that's in dire need of a full restoration as well. Can't wait to watch all your content!! Thanks from Calgary!!
@@jh-tech5546 I now have my 1987 FZR1000 in my garage. Your videos are going to be very important the the success of my restoration project. Thanks again for producing all of this content. Ken
Thanks. I would have hoped for some more contrast between the 2 colors. But when out in natural light it will pop out more I hope. Although the color scheme isn't original I used a anthracite color as used on later models of Yamaha's for the engine color.
And now more conflicted as to which bike to rebuild next! My 1FN needs a full strip and rebuild, with the frame painting / powder coating. I did a more limited rebuild on my FZR600 recently (sorted mechanically, but I barely touched the bodywork). It would be nice to get it back on the road.
44 minutes. I'll have to watch this one in several separate sessions. That dang engine looks heavy. You're doing such a beautiful restoration on this thing. And what the other guy below said. What's next? Oh, and if you don't mind, I prefer the no music. The repetitious YT music gets to me after a (short) while.
Thank you for your comment Ken! Yes, music or not... It's a tough one. Personally, I like having some music on it, but as you say, the same music (from the TH-cam library) is used everywhere. For the future I might switch between both options...
Could you do a series on how to disconnect various types of electrical connectors? And how to figure them out by looking. Its always a struggle for me. Love your channel!
it looks nice and clean, to clean, why are you not using any crease on the bolds and tread? This way, if you want to take it apart in the future, it will be a real pain in the ass.
Thanks for your comment. On some of the bolts (swingarm, wheel axles, etc...) I applied some grease. But you are correct. I think I will apply some high temp anti seize grease on the exhaust studs and nuts because they can get really stuck.
Excellent work, the ht lead length can’t be right, I’m sure Yamaha didn’t use cable ties originally, also the no 2 HT lead to spark plug cap connection is loose and may cause problems ( I saw it rotating as you fitted it)
Thanks for your comment. It is possible that the coils aren't the original ones. I used the cable ties to prevent the cables from getting into the fan. I will check the plug caps.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. This one isn't finished yet... But i got some more on my list. FZR 600, TT-600, YZF750, R1, ... An who knows maybe a non Yamaha

Looking great I love the black and gunmetal grey contrast with the engine

Good idea. but I am not an expert. Maybe I can show more in detail when I disconnect or connect them.
@@jh-tech5546 much appreciated, thank you!
I'm impressed man!
1. The bike is looking great.
2. Your workmanship is fantastic.
3. Those gloves are holding up amazingly well!!
Thanks for the comment! I appreciate it. About the gloves.. Trust me, I have used more then one pair on this part.

😍это великолепно!!!
Моетуважение мастеру!
Реставрирую такой же мотоцикл,но не могу найти нормальный мануал понему(((
Did you get all new hardware or did you have it replated?
I replated most of the bolts and bolts. Apart from some regular M6 bolts and nuts. And some original Yamaha ones that are cheap.
@@jh-tech5546 you clean and repainted everything? It looks brand new!
Rdlc,Fz 👏👏 Nice bikes
