Those Anne Coulter jokes are savage and so on point!
I love that he said, "let's call her a lady." Savagely perfect!
I assumed he was going to talk about a transwoman, but he just went with the low hanging fruit instead.
@@nate7778 Yeah because calling a random transwoman a man is the very definition of high brow
Who aee you talking about
"expectations exceeded"
Well of course, wonderfully expressed and explained.
@@joep7586it’s Jimmy. He isnt exactly high brow humour to be honest. Its why he is so funny. He does low brow in such unique ways that he is almost high brow.
4:45 As I recall, Pete looked stricken then said, “That’s DOPE.”
I’m guessing the stricken part was “ Why tf didn’t I think of that?” Anyway, he seemed genuinely impressed.
Jimmy’s a genuinely fascinating man, he seems both scary and surprisingly wise and caring. Definitely brilliantly funny though.
I can assure he is super friendly and nice irl. He does meet and greet at almost any show and will surprisingly remember you occasionally. Legend.
He is savagely funny but I think it's because he just says what he feels in the situation but his delivery is just so perfect that no matter how shocked you are at what he says you laugh lol
You can't say the most wrong thing possible at the drop off a hat without being able to instantly see the opposite. He's clearly as sharp and smart as they come
That was well said!!
His scary side is how wise and funny he is. Especially if it is directed at you.
This anecdote made me like Pete Davidson significantly more than I ever really have before.
Pete has said far worse on the subject... as you would expect
That's the trick to laughter, if you can laugh at the darkness in the world it can never beat you ✌️
pete has said the week after 9/11 kids at school made fun of him for it. i think he's heard everything by now
Jimmy mentioning his school being rough reminds me of something John Cooper Clarke said "I’m not saying our school was rough, but we had our own coroner."
I'm pretty sure he went to Burnham Grammar. Which in Slough is considered posh
@@Pittsey555 Not when he was a boy, though. Grammar schools weren't considered a good thing in the 70s. They were where you went if you couldn't get into a posh school. Now, they seem to be more the midpoint normal.
@@lowellthomson1958 He went to school in the 90s
“The world is full of people with curly hair and straighteners” is a lesson I’ve tried to teach my son his whole life. That’s an underrated life lesson.
what is that supposed to mean?
@@MALKIAHWwatch the video. It means that most people are trying too hard to be someone they aren’t. And doing that makes you ordinary. I learned that way too late in life and hope that my kids learn it earlier than I did.
i watched the video i was only saying your saying made no sense to me as someone whos never heard that idiom before@@HorseTongue
thank you for the explaination that is all i was looking for

As somebody who's birthday is on New Years eve, can confirm Jimmy's line on exceeding expectations.
"He's always impeccably dressed because he spent that long in the closet" is gold, lol.
Love the Sean Lock shout out, a true great.
I've followed him since I was a teenager in the 90's. Jimmy is the man.
Jimmy is not only hilarious but highly intelligent, very intriguing and he has now made it to my perfect celebrity dinner party 😂
Right!!?? I would love to know what his IQ is
Jimmy is a hero of mine and has been for years, but this interviewer though... Don't think I recognise him, and I really want to see more of him. Great energy without being fake and hollywood about it. Comes off like a breathless fan holding it together while meeting his idol. Really wonderful to see!
very true
Stuart Goldsmith is the interviewer. A friend of Jimmy Carr. For the launch 9f his book. Savoy Theatre 2021
Tne interviewer, Stuart Goldsmith, has a podcast "Comedian's comedian", in which he talks to a lot of people, mostly comedians, about their trade (425 episodes so far).
@@heartshapedisle Okay, it's been six months, but I want to say I appreciate you for sharing this.
Smart chap ole Jimmy. You have to love how really great comedians are the ones who have genuinely analysed the world around them.
His Patrick Swayze jokes on that roast with Ralph Machio were brutally brilliant as well.
Very nice advices. And jokes. Thank you Jimmy. And good work on face!
That chair does a great job of hiding the ventriloquist!
So excited for live show in Portland, Oregon.
Jimmy Carr is so funny at comedy, that God had to even things out by giving him the weirdest laugh 😂
those songs he mentioned at the end there, Keep Me in your Heart by Warren Zevon (written and recorded after Warren knew he had only a few months to live) and Follow Me into the Dark by Deathcab are both brilliant, deep cuts. I didn't even know anyone else loved them. Thanks Jimmy for spreading the word on musical genius too
Keep me in your Heart is such a powerhouse
a good comedian has good insights in human nature and dark corners....his advice on life is real good, like his jokes
Wow…I already thought highly of this man but this made me think MORE highly of him!! Didn’t think that could happen but he’s brilliant!!
Rickles would have loved how Carr picked up the torch and kept right on running.
Thanx 4 making me laugh. Love your outlook on life. ✌️😎👍
I haven’t watched this yet, but I’m guessing that Pete loved it! I know I did! 😂
His reaction was good….he’s like “that was dope”
It kinda ruins it that he heard the joke the night before.
@@tornoofo17wasnt it just more of a heads up and jimmy asking if it was ok
I have laughed until tears at the reality of our lives. You Sir, are a sentinel of the absurdity that surrounds us all every day and call it out with the respect it deserves.
Yes!!!
Great interview Jimmy. 👍🏻
I love a good roast. All topics and people are fair game. Makes the best comedy.
This was a great talk/interview.
That Davidson gag is pure
For anyone who's aware, the moment he did the internal dialogue out loud of, "let's call her a lady", the warthog he was referring to is anything but. Hilarious, cause true.
great clip
Fantastic watch. I don't know what this paperback thing is but I sure hope there's an audio book version voiced my Jimmy Carr.
He’s just so funny, and very quick and intellegent. Mix all that, and he’s just a brilliant entertainer.
Had to bring up "Keep Me In Your Heart." I was reminded of the send-off of Ralph Waite who played the father of the principle character. The episode was a tribute to Waite when he passed. The funeral scene audio was the playing of the song.
Lots of wisdom spilled here
Jimmy is an absolute mastermind of roasts. But he’s also a freaking awesome dude. His comedy has had me absolutely in tears from laughing so hard. I love when people go to his shows and then gets mad when he calls them out. It’s like signing your own death certificate. His comedy isn’t for the easily offended and is always top notch. I’d pay an arm and a leg to go see him. Way better than this Matt Rife dude who popped up outta nowhere.
Rife is good too. Jeselnik, older Carr, Gervais are top quality.
no need to compare
jeselnik is painfully boring
the song mentiones "keep me in your heart for a while' by Warren Zevon Is truly such an amazing emotional song. Play that at a funeral there won't be a dry eye
Enjoy the process not the result.
Thats actual wisdom. I love it
That laugh at 3:46 lol
The way he called out David Walliams ahahaha big ups to jimmy
You f***ing inspire me! Thnx!🙏
Definitely agree with jimmy on expectations 👌
Wow came for the jokes/shock stayed for the chat. Interesting guy
Brilliant 😂
Yes Jimmy, we all had the mud and the paddling pool, but most of us didn't add the Viking beard to Rachel like you did 😁
6:30 NAILED IT
"I will follow you into the dark" is a great pick.
I can see Jimmy being a good friend!
Brilliant! Ok, asking for your book for Xmas.
Amazing advice in the middle, and Death Cab for Cutie's I Will Follow You Into the Dark the theme song for my wife and I!
I got to see Jimmy in 2018 in Portland, and it ended my marriage. I'm looking forward to seeing him in December of this year in hopes I can finally find a replacement wife at his show.
Lol what, explain
@lavararrington9007 You can try but most of them would rather be alone than with someone looking for a rEpLaCeMenT wiFe. You'll be alone forever.
I wanna watch this full interview where is it?
Be who you are. Best advice ever.
That Ann Coulter joke was pretty fair, if you know anything about her
A comedian going after a Trumper. Totally edgy.....
@@nate7778 who said it was edgy?
Compared to some of the other jokes towards her, JImmy's weren't that bad.
I thing I like about Jimmy is his understanding of, for want of a better word, the science of comedy. It’s what separates him from the rest.
This is really interesting.
I have never thought of Jimmy carr as a roast battle campion.
That was brilliant
What makes Alan Carr so good is his perfect blend of wisdom, knowledge, experience and humour.
;-)
And his brother Jimmy is pretty good too....
I became an expert in "Aboriginal martial arts" when I changed primary schools....life changing
Wow. He dropped some gold nuggets of advice up there.
I'm glad I got the book
Jimmy dropping dimes there at the end!
That was cool =)
A life with no expectations is a life with no disappointments .
I remember that joke! That was from The Roast of Ann Coulter!
Jimmy Carr absolutely destroys Jeff Ross for sheer nastiness when roasting. This includes hecklers.
I find him so hilarious and attractive!
so sick. loveit. hahahaha
6:40 "disposition is more important than position"
I remember some new upcoming American comic asking who Jimmy Carr was. Jim Ross turned and said "your end"
comics are deep thinkers
and
sometimes you get their wisdom if you pay attention to the subtle message.
He's funnier off the cuff than delivering prepared stuff
Talk about a criminally underrated book!
Brits don’t know how good they have it if they think Piers Morgan is comparable to Ann Coulter…
Seriously! He was on CNN for god's sake! He's a liberal in America
Kate Hopkins is probably a better example?
Ann Coulter is the American equivalent to Jimmy Savile if your ears and braincells were the kids.
This guy is hilarious
4:10 Heheehehhe, Jimmy you murderer! :D
Jimmy Carr strikes me as a nice person who’s a little insecure but brilliant enough to make people forget that because of his wit. Keep on keeping on, Jimmy.
I wasn’t expecting happiness from having my expectations exceeded, now that Jimmy said it my life is forever ruined.
That's the spirit! Now when your life is only mostly ruined you'll be overflowing with joy!
Should really be a shoutout here to interviewer Stu Goldsmith
Pete Davidson also said that watching Soul Plane was the worst experience of his life involving a plane.
Roast battle is still censored, comedians that have been on it have said they were told they can’t tell certain jokes
What is this show called?
What jimmy said about happiness is BANG ON.
he was so great on jre
Looooooove Jimmy Carr
“He’s a broken man” is a genuine observation of his that he had to discard last second.
I heard Jimmy was roasting Mike Tyson the other day. He's currently in an intensive care
Comedy shouldn't be taken as insult ever. Why has it come to this. God bless comedians because they will save the world eventually 🙏
Immediately after Jimmy’s joke about people with curly hair and straighteners fighting a losing battle, I got an add for the unbelievably expensive Dyson hair straightener.
The timing would be PERFECT if only I wasn’t bald.
only Jimmy Carr makes me laugh like Jimmy Carr. hahuhhh
I felt the panic in that audience member at the end.
The best part was the interviewer's fake laughs
His happiness comment is straight of the Buddhist manual of life
I'm what Jimmy Carr calls a chuckle fuckler
Anytime Jimmy talks, I listen. It will inevitably be hysterical.
I love his brain.
Pete is a comedian... he loved the joke!
Frankie Boyle makes them all look very tame like very very tame .
