they're fishing 350 meters deep on the bottom. That's over 1,000 feet deep. those eels and one spiny dogfish aren't surviving that type of pressure change. they're already effectively dead and won't last more than a minute before a shark finishes them off. well over 95% of what they're catching is their target species.
judging by how many they're catching I'm pretty sure they're not running low on blue eye trevally. this idea that every species of fish is about to go extinct is pretty ridiculous.

I agree with ending trawlers that tear up miles of ocean floor but guys with hooks and 300 meters of line aren't exploiting anything.
