- The Crane Couple is back at Round 1 arcade in Ikebukuro, Japan to play the GIANT coin pusher called Grand Cross! Round 1 is a Japanese arcade mostly known for claw machine and UFO catcher games, but they also have medal games - the Japanese coin pushers with crazy graphics and effects! Unfortunately there are no prizes to win at medal games (except more coins/medals!) but Grand Cross is a giant spectacle worthy of being its own jackpot - the coin pusher has tons of ways to win lots of medals, including several wheel jackpot features that can net you thousands of coins! I commented this on the last one. I trust em, but even from the research done, at a minimum they should be getting some type of paper or ditigal points good for prizes. I trust em however, so if they say they aren't, I believe em
@@PickUps i know some medal machine arcades are just for fun. Theres nothing to be won but play time. That said those places usually sell alot of medals for a small amount of money as its pure profit. Usually have older machines as well, the hand me downs. That game they were playing was a first gen grand cross old game. Playing for money or prizes, gets expensive. Really expensive.
This is way better production than the Kim Karsdashians TV reality show.

Rapid fire when putting in the coins does nothing but stack them on top of each other. You want to slowly put them into the machine to make a single layer.

Actually, you only get more medals. this is because it is illegal to gamble in Japan. American style arcade games are classified as "gambling" in Japan.
I heard somewhere that you can take your "winnings" (steel ball bearings) from the pachinko games and trade them in for cash down the street from the parlor. Is it the same way with the "medal" from arcades like this one?
It's not the same. You'd get in trouble if you took the tokens outside of the arcades. Basically they all have "banks" inside, so if you win let's say 5000 tokens and you're done for the day, you put them into the bank machine and save them under your name and password and then anytime you wanna come back and play you can take out as many as you'd like from your "bank"
Also you don't cash in the steel ball bearings, basically you trade them in at the parlor for a "prize" which is usually something like a small teddy bear or worthless item, and then there's a shop down the street that "buys" those prizes for cash =) That way you're only playing for a prize, it just happens to be a prize that another place is willing to pay good money for ;-)
Anthony is correct! The tokens cannot be traded for any sort of prize, cash or otherwise. They're simply for fun and can be stored at the bank machines inside the arcade for later use - taking them out of the arcade is a big no no! As for pachinko, we've never been so we can't really comment on that XD
How much did this cost you to play for that long? Were all those moving pictures on the balls sent from above or did the balls have some type of screen! I love coin pushers!!!

How much did playing this cost?
It's not super expensive, normally a good bin of tokens will cost you like $20 and last you an hour or so, plus you win tokens as you play, so it extends how long those original tokens really get you =)

Hi J.Marie, it depends on how long you want to play - like Anthony said, $20 should last you for a while! We spent about 5 hours at this arcade between our three coin pusher/medal game videos and it cost us about $50 for the entire time
