- The Crane Couple is back at Round 1 arcade in Ikebukuro, Tokyo Japan for a HUGE coin pusher jackpot at the Tower of Babel medal game! Round 1 is a Japanese arcade mostly known for claw machine and UFO catcher games, but they also have medal games - the Japanese coin pushers with crazy graphics and effects! Unfortunately there are no prizes to win at medal games (except more coins/medals!) but Tower of Babel has an interesting jackpot feature - you spin a wheel to add more medals to a giant tower of coins! When you're done playing, do you exchange your remaining metals for something, or do you just have to use them all up?
there is no gambling in japan so the way they get around it is they have prizes like in arcades you are probably familiar with however the items are not toys they are useful things you would normally buy from the store for day to day life so it saves you money

There's a lot of misinformation here. Pachinko parlors, which are actual gambling locations unlike arcades or "game centers", give out plastic chips that one redeems for cash at a nearby location along with some snacks / small things to avoid the transaction being strictly a monetary exchange.
However, Round 1 (where this video is filmed) and many other arcades like Adores, Sega, etc sometimes have medal games. These games allow people to spend money to get medals that are used as the tokens for these games, such as Medal Tower of Babel (the game in this video). Medal games only give medals as prizes. Medals can be saved to an account to be withdrawn later on. However, medals can only be used on medal games. There are no prize redemptions for medals. Medals cannot be sold back to the arcade, and no outside shop wants to buy your medals. It's strictly for fun.

Very satisfying to watch, but frustrating to play. Tried it out a few times. It takes ages to reach the jackpot chance cause the yellow balls kept on getting stuck on the sides, and when you finally build a big tower you still need to actually win it. I have seen so many people give up before winning the tower cause it just takes too much effort...which is good for the next person in line 😂
