    Oh wow, every little vibrato wiggle, note choice, string mute to hear the delay trails bounce around in my headphones soaked in sweet Hiwatt tone was just magical! I thought I even heard a stereo tremolo bounce from left to right. I’m a sucker for a bisgby equipped tele. All the times I’ve seen that tele I’ve never looked at the notes to see it was a cij. I’ve got a 91 mij 62RI strat that is my number 1. Loved everything about this lesson. Even if I don’t have time to learn them, I enjoy watching them. I like to think I soak a little mojo up!

  • @mykhailobaturin803
    @mykhailobaturin803 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you Eric, this is a nice one! Also, I have noticed that I like to incorporate too many Hendrix-type embellishments into each and every chord I encounter (just cannot resist it :)). Those "spacious" arrangements of your are really good, but I can't seem to come up with something like this - do you have any suggestions?

    • @EricHaugenGuitar
      @EricHaugenGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ain't nuthin wrong with too much Hendrix :-)
      For these type of arrangements, I keep it as simple as possible - melody is most important, then whatever chord tones I can fit underneath. But, if I can't fit a chord root, sometimes I'll just leave it out and let the famous melody carry the whole thing.

    this arrangement cries out for a b-bender too. youve got a couple licks in there that do the Hendrix version of faux pedal steel bends nicely. it makes me want to hear more on the next chorus, which is cool because the way youve played the head is so low key that youve got a lot of room to add fireworks down the line. Reminds me of Kenny Burrell's arrangement of Greensleeves that way.

      Eric Haugen i used to play in a band with a guy who had one and i could never ger used to playing it, but the stuff he could do with it was really cool. i keep thinking about getting one of those lever style ones that hipshot makes though and putting it on a partscaster. they look like theyd be easier to learn how to use.
