  • UPDATE - I stayed here twice again in 2019 and early 2020 and unfortunately the standards have definitely gone down. The staff are nice and very helpful, but the electricity price was way above average, and there were constant building works and very noisy parties/karaoke every night. I also felt that the type of people staying there were mostly idiot stereotypical gap-year/party travel types, dodgy-looking women and overall it didn't feel very "family-friendly" like it did when I made this video. If you are looking for a short-term stay in D7, it's still an okay choice, but I'd look elsewhere if you need to stay in D7 long-term. You can definitely get more for your money elsewhere in the city if you're not set on D7.

    • @RudyVisuals
      @RudyVisuals  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's pretty good. The windows are well insulated so there isn't much noise but you have to keep in mind that HCMC is a noisy city in general. The wifi is free and I was getting download speeds of about 50mb download and 25 upload speed but it would vary quite a lot depending on the time of day but overall very fast! I teach English online and never had any issues, play online games on steam and rarely had lag as well as streaming Netflix and such in HD - all fine!

    Great video mate. I'm just wondering - what type of cooking utilities can you get in a serviced apartment? I for one, love doing my own cooking and I would need to do it to stave off boredom. Can you get apartments with fully equipt kitchens? I'm an ex chef and just need a fully equipt kitchen.

    • @RudyVisuals
      @RudyVisuals  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      From my experience the kitchens in most serviced apartments are quite small and limited since takeaway food is so cheap and widely available. Most have at least a couple of cookers and microwave oven but I never saw one with a proper fan assisted oven.

      @RudyVisuals  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      On the expensive side yes but for expats, considering the services and facilities you get $450 is a great deal especially in this district (D7) which is considered one of the more expensive and desirable places to live in the city. We've seen much nicer apartments for $750 and up but they didn't come with a pool or gym etc

      I'll try and answer all of the questions :)
      Yes you can pay with cash, but even if you just stay for a month you have to pay 1 month deposit (which you get back at the end of your stay)
      All of the reception staff speak good English so no worries there.
      There are lots of companies particularly in China who employ online teachers. If you have experience and can find a decent company you can easily make anywhere from $1000-$2000 a month or more depending on how many hours you want to work. It's really flexible so you can have lots of freedom. It's a great way to earn money and travel at the same time.
      Yes only the cleaners and staff have access to your room, the cleaners come 6 times a week usually in the middle of the day and they do laundy twice a week. They refill the water in your room too (i think you get like 4 big bottles included per month which is enough for a month).
      The door is well insulated, you can't really hear much noise from outside but there are sliding windows by the toilet which you can open and shut as you please.
      It's definitely worth a stay here IMO especially compared to what else is out there nearby. You can always just try for a month and if you like it, go for a longer contract and if you don't like it, it's only a month! Hope that helps!

      mostly lower/cheap sharehouse or apartment don't ask much. But for better quality or luxury sharehouse/apartment it differen, because they need to be sure or have something to protect their furniture (in case if the rent customers break something,etc..)
      in fews latest year many foreigners act bad, they're drunk & break the furniture.
      i'm vietnamese so i know, in this week there are 2 korean lady fighting her husband, they're thrown things at entrance & breaking many things.
      a french guy drunken & he get crazy mad break the public furniture so bad cause he go to pay...electric at 9PM but there is no official working at the times then he acting fool. He was too drunken, after breaking public furniture he have to pay for 3.000$ to rebuild it, but he say he don't have that much money
      maybe cause of this, laters many apartments owner will have stricter rules
      and 1 korean guys because of breaking with his gf, he throw a oven viba to a pool in ground then throwing hot boiling water to apartment security. police go to arrest him because he almost kill someone when he throws oven to ground from high floor. after that he get force kick out his visa in Vietnam, he go to Korea embassy to asking help him stay here. idk if he got stay or not, it was on newspaper fews month ago
      alots of owner now very confused if rent customers is FRENCH, KOREA, CHINESE. they like Japanese the most at this rate.
      ps: i do not say all chinese, korean, france is bad. but you know, when a group of ppl acting bad, it make the bad name & imagine
