@@optimusprimegaming2968 Wow thanks! I mean I knew the lines in the show were kind of slow to make up for the bad voice acting/writing but I didn’t know changing the speed would improve it so much.
@@Ninjagojayfan1 Depends on the figure. Some are great, some are trash, like anything else, I guess. I've mainly only got legends sized ones like Magic Square, Iron Factory, and Newage. They tend to be cheaper and easier to find in Asia than they are in the west.
I used to roll my eyes at the Bayverse, but now I've learned to appreciate it for what it does do well, which is just plain ol' stupid fun with lots of explosions and giant robot fights. Brain not required. To wfc's credit though, they did a pretty decent job with lore and world building, which Bayverse usually didn't. Still, I'd consider the comic universes to be the best interpretations of the franchise. Haven't had a chance to read any of Skybound's take, but I hear it's pretty good.
At least it’s better than the unicorn trilogy, and don’t even get me started on energon where there’s terrible cgi animation, that one human character that is so annoying that I forgot his name, and A lot of sexualized human anime girls that makes Michael bays human Female characters look like masterpieces compared to the anime girls in Transformers energon
I've never actually seen much of the Unicron trilogy! I watched a bit of armada back in the day, and I thought the theme song and mini con gimmicks were really cool. The PS2 game was fun too, but then again, I was a kid, so not exactly the best judge of quality. I'll definitely agree that the cgi didn't age quite so well though! Lol. As for the girls, well... Japan. Yeah.
Sorry but no...just no😅...this is better than the prime wars trilogy but below the unicron trilogy, at least if we're looking the writing of transformers armada and cybertron (especially if we use their Japanese counterparts and not rely on the English dubs alone), those 2 shows clear the WFC trilogy meanwhile energon falls flat in terms of writing. Energon (and cybertron) are definitely below this trilogy in terms of good cgi animation but armada (Japanese version with finished animation) takes the win for having actual 2D animation. Something this franchise can benefit from having as 3D animation has become the norm since prime. Also...how are any of the female characters sexualized? Cause in comparison to other anime, what the unicron trilogy does is tame, especially when most of the female characters in the bayverse are eye candy first and nothing more. The female characters in the unicron trilogy at least are written to be their own individuals, even if there's fan service moments at the same time (lots of American media does the same thing man, many attractive female characters are well written). Overall it just sounds like you're applying most of energon's flaws onto the entire trilogy when the flaws mainly stem from the English dubs being rushed and the English subs being finished.
The show tried to be more serious. A seriousness that gets absolutely lost in the other parts. I think this is the only time being darker visually is more fitting.

Like, ok, I get it, they're tired coz they're probably out of Energon and all that BUT...the game Fall of Cybertron also said that their Energon reserves are very low to the point of being scarce, NONE of them sounded boring and tired when they talked
@@Samuel_Loegan I don't necessarily blame the voice actors for that, though. Proper casting and voice direction are super important. When it's done right, you don't notice it, but when it's not, it tends to stand out.

The War for Cybertron trilogy of mini-shows is the utter nadir of televised Transformers shows not named "Energon". Sure, EarthSpark isn't much better with its full embracing of late-IDW concepts to its detriment, but WFC takes everything bad about the Prime Wars shows and multiplies it to 100, with characters behaving like idiots for drama's sake and rampant attempts at being edgy and "adult". And it's NOT "adult"! It might be "adult" to Shitmeisters Rooster Teeth (thank Primus they're gone) who co-produced it, but not in real life. See, this is why the Aligned canon and Bayformers succeed: _they know when to dial it back and have fun!_
WFC has its moments where it shines, (I think the scenes where Megatron visits the energy plant full of adoring, but decaying soldiers only to offline them all when he realizes they aren't any use to him is a good bit of character development). But yeah, super melodramatic much of the time.
It was definitely an artistic choice meant to strike a certain tone, and one worth trying out. Not to everyone's taste of course, but hey, you can't please everyone.
@@redalert923 I have a suspicion it was because they were trying to cut costs here and there, and the more veteran voice actors cost more to hire, but I don't have any proof to back that up, so take that with a grain of salt. Edit: But yeah, when older voice actors are willing to return, but the studio doesn't bring them back, it's usually for money reasons.
@@redalert923 Also side note, the Japanese dub actually did get a lot of the actors who played the original roles in their versions. Japan got their old Beast Megatron voice back, for instance, while we got... yeah....

Yeah, Siege is one of those series I've got mixed feelings about. Plenty of good stuff, but plenty of other stuff I think kind of fell flat.

It sucks how even the Bayverse knew not to be serious at times, while the War For Cybertron Trilogy’s overly dramatic.
