I have the VZ2 310 and yes it is the perfect all rounder, my only negative is the infotainment system, not because it's a little slow but because it's full of bugs that can be really frustrating at times.
I absolutely fucking hate the voice command system in it, when i picked mine up on sunday i couldn't even have a conversation with my mrs without it CONSTANTLY popping up like what a damn google home does, needless to say that shit got turned straight off. Also does third gear seem to be a bit short? mine flicks into 4th at about 75mph where as my 290 changed into 4th at 105mph

Another cracking video. My gf has the VZ2 310 in Graphene grey. I truly believe point to point, these cars would rival most, if not all new hot hatches and dare I say it, my M2. I just wish the infotainment didn't suck, it's so laggy and unintuitive.
you can tell the non VZ model easily from the back obviously since it has 4 pipes in it, other than that. You can also set the 'individual' mode with all cupra mode settings except with natural engine sound. luckily that's an option. I'm used to the infotainment, but there are a lot of software bugs overall in the system and the EU regulated electronic must haves. They have plenty of updates available to fix those though. I'm hoping to get most of them sorted out on my next visit to the shop. Overall it's THE car for someone who needs space for 4 adults and still have a practical fun car. Most cars today are super boring, VW's especially never been a fan, but cupra formentor vz ticks all my boxes. I'd love some physical knobs for sound and AC in the center and it would be almost perfect.
Brands like SEAT and Skoda have come so far into their own over the last 20 years. back then, they were brands people jsut did not take notice of or take seriously in any way. Skodas were often labelled 'Russian rustbuckets', which was weird lol, as they're a Czech brand, but I guess it was that Eastern European tradition of not making very good cars. But they've come such a long way their cars are now proper vintage. No doubt all thanks to Volkswagen, but I would pick a SEAT or Skoda everyday of the week. They're way more likeable and way more reasonable in price than any VW these days!
Yes I like these… if they add the hybrid to the 310bhp and give it 400-450 horses I’m in. I bet the 1.4 hybrid isn’t much slower at all in everyday driving. Not seen such a good looking crossover since the Infiniti FX. Sadly they didn’t last long in Europe but great cars.
Hello James, thx for the awesome review! Just ordered the Cupra Formentor VZ 2.0 TSI 310HP through a 36 months lease deal. Should be arriving in 3 months time. I have one week to decide on which color I want to go with, and I've narrowed it dwn to either midnight black or metallic tech grey. Which one should I go with? I'm planning to paint the lower trims to all black, cause just like u I don't like the glossy greyish/silver look around the car. For the alloy rims, I'm going with either 19" alloy wheels in matt black and copper or 19" alloy wheels in matt black and silver. Can't decide which setup will look the best with either midnight black or metallic tech grey color of the car. New sub from Denmark 🇩🇰💪🏾

Style over substance. I have the V2 hybrid as a company car. It’s quick. But I’m getting only 40mpg, the tank is very small so I have to fill up almost every day now. The boot is very very small. It’s full of gadgets. But there’s too many distractions inside for me. Looks good, but who cares when you’re inside? I would not spend 42 thousand pounds on it. Loud road noise inside too.
Perhaps less of your personal and therefore subjective guidance would be better. Not liking the colours on the car and wheels probably shouldn't be such regular focal points in the review
6:24 ngl that sounded beefy as fuck, the pops and bangs in mine are so much louder and sharper than the ones in my cupra 290.... i also don't like the trim at the bottom of the skirts it looks silly in silver...... also where the fk is my fancy engine cover like the one in my 290, didnt even come with a shitty one either which i think has been a thing on all vag cars since 2022
@@JamesKingstonCars yea man I called cupra directly and they told me they had a mass recall on all vag cars made after 2022 because they were setting on fire when the turbos were getting hot or some shit, piss poor excuse tbh lol

I was real happy about being able to turn that horrible engine noise off while being in cupra mode, it sounds absolutely horrendous at low rpm cruises

Key fob batteries last only a month. Sun shines off bonnet into drivers eyes. Sat nav is terrible. Lots of road noise.
