Thank you so so much for this video! I’m starting Steven West’s Dotted Rays shawl and this is exactly how to starts. I would be so lost without this instruction :)
Thank you! This was a great tutorial! At the very end, how do you proceed considering the working yarn is in the middle of stitches and they are all on one needle?
Marissa Chippy good question! That’s exactly how it should be! When you knit the first three stitches, the working yarn moves across them and creates your applied i-cord edge. In this case I had three stitches that I slipped at the end of the row. All of my rows would end with slip 3 with yarn in front and then start with knit 3 to create the i-cord edge.
Thanks for the video; it’s very clear with just the right amount of detail!
Thank you thank you thank you for this tutorial it took me so long to figure out but your tutorial was the easiest to follow.
Thank you! This is the clearest tutorial on a provisional icord cast on that I have seen 😃💖🧶

You explained this so well and clearly. Thank you so much!
Loved your patient and clear direction! Thank you!
Question :) Why do you need to rotate the left needle to see the purl stitches? The cord looks more seamless without the rotation.
