You clearly feel the tooth breaking and your gums ripping but it doesn’t “hurt”. I personally know a few NFL retirees. The feeling I get from my friends is that the NFL has the attitude that the players are getting paid enough to sacrifice themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually for the game. It’s a business where money is the bottom line, not self improvement.
    They take the lane of “you can deal with all of that when you retire. You only have a limited time before an injury takes you out or age catches up with you. You can deal with your problems later. As for now, we’ll treat your symptoms with drugs & do whatever it takes to keep you productive on the field (essentially becoming enablers.) Ticket sales and merchandising come before health in pro sports.
    Then, upon retirement, the NFL will do everything it can to distance itself from any liability, responsibility, or reason for change.

    • @healthyandrew5294

    The NFL will attempt to play you whether you're injured or not. Remember last year when Tyrod Taylor was hurt last year? Before the game some league doctor attempted to give him a pain shot but ended up puncturing his lung. On the sideline! I totally believe that he may have been hurt and didn't want to injure himself further.

    • @BoleDaPole

      They always have a choice...noone puts a strap around their neck drags them on a field and makes them line up...plus the rules are the same way across the nfl...its all in contracts that they willingly sign...I don't feel sorry for him at all...am I knocking him for not laying injured? No am I knocking the coach for asking him to jump in the game? Nope, honestly if he had a big problem he should never even dressed or suited up before the game he shiulda been on the sideline in his street clothes like every other injured player thats not gonna get playing time...but evidently it wasn't as big of an issue, he dressed and if he brought that up before and still dressed anyways well thats also on him...he coulda refused to dress from the start and kicked off and dealt with this whole matter before the game even started but noooope...he sat there then decided to create a spectacle when called on

    I know teams do it and I know it's generally an accepted part of being an athlete, but I personally think that teams should never force a player to play through pain/injury if they're not 100% comfortable with it and if this is what was happening in this situation, than I support AB with the stance he took

    although it's common sense that jogging and small jumping is completely different to those moves in the professional level, sadly the hater keep blaming AB just based on his history without looking to what actually is going on.

    Having broken my foot recently I was able to do basic stuff but carrying anything heavy or climbing a ladder was out of the question
    In fact the little bit of activity I could do per day got shorter and shorter .
    I am now sitting around because I needed a bone graft to get it to heal these screws are massively annoying .
    Hate the way ab handled the situation but I believe the coach opened his pie hole to wide and said something inappropriate
    To make that man snap brown was only a few steps away from a million dollars when he took himself out of the game.
    His not finishing that game cost him big money so I believe his injury claim.

Since my ankle injury, I have now a messed up gait- my foot turns a bit to the right. I get painful popping and cracking, I ended up tearing my ACL the year after, and just have a bunch of issues now.

    I used to play RB and other sports and can confirm that running in a straight line is so much different from having to change direction especially when you have someone tackling you. Also, Antonio isn't jumping that high, therefore, he's still not putting a lot of pressure on that ankle. With all this being said, the only issue I took with him, in this situation, is him allegedly partying until late at night. I understand that that might be speculation and a false talking point and that partying today isn't the same as 20 years ago.

    • @ethanweeter2732
      @ethanweeter2732 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So, all year with a ton of injuries, not once has anyone on the bucs made anyone play, but all of the sudden, they do to him? A guy who has lied about being vaxxed lied about things on other teams, got thrown off 4 teams all of the sudden, they make him play and nobody else. Also, all the cutting and all that, guess what folks, he was doing that on the field. There was zero mention of being forced to play until he threw a tantrum for not getting the ball enough in the game.

  • @bobbycone2
    @bobbycone2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very true. I used to play soccer years ago and I injured my ankle badly at the end of the first half, went into the game and played the 2nd half and I could run straight with little problems, although it hurt but a couple times I tried to pivot I fell over. Ankle was huge and purple after the game and I had to go to the hospital. Ankle is a funny thing and injuries are all different depending on what happened.... AB is still nuts tho.

    It sounds like a power struggle of a strained relationship. Nobody will know what was going on through their heads not just at that moment, but the weeks leading up to that moment. I believe both AB and BA both acknowledged BA said, "You're done," and AB responded. Powerful people with powerful opinions. I feel like none of it matters now. The separation has happened and both sides need to cut their losses and move on.

    This means that the team doctors was so bad that they either missed the injury, or let AB play despite the injury. Thing is I can't see anyone letting AB play knowing of the injury because they were playing the jets, and a win here doesn't really matter because they were already locked for a playoff spot.
    Or AB aggravated the injury even more to the point of Mondays MRI, and BA told him " your done". In this case it's really no one's fault.
