As a local, the best Prime Rib in Vegas is at Jerry’s Nugget. Tasty, comes with a salad that could be a meal by itself, fairly priced and served by a waiter or waitress. Forget the buffet.
I've been to Jerry's countless times over the years. Jerry's is ok, but not very consistent any more, they don't offer the huge cut any more, and the price is significantly higher. Five years ago I would have agreed with you as to the quality edge going to Jerry's, but no more. As for the deal aspect between the two, come on, South Point Prime Rib is every bit as good as Jerry's and it's ALL YOU CAN EAT. Jerry's can't even begin to compare with that. Well, anyway, thanks for watching and commenting. We love to hear what our viewers think, 😁
Several thoughts: 1) I eat a South Point every time I'm in town. The prime rib alone is worth the visit. 2) I don't have a problem with the sausage or bacon there. I like it. To each his own. 3) Agree about the mashed potatoes. Very good. 4) Agree about the shrimp. 5) Agree about the French toast and pancakes. Hard to justify eating it anyway with prime rib on the menu. 6) I would never eat vegetables, salads or bread at a buffet. Total waste of money. 7) I'll take your word about the Asian food. Not a fan of it anyway. 8) The barbeque there is average at best. I live near KC and I'm not wasting my money on subpar barbeque at a buffet. 9) Agree about the Mexican. Heat lamps ruin it at any buffet. 10) I don't eat much fresh fruit at buffets. The fruit there is pretty good though. 11) The blueberry cake is very good. I'd rather have pie but these buffets always seem to focus on cakes. 12) I've had the dougnuts and they taste like something out of a box at Dunkin. 13) I never eat ice cream at buffets. Too many other things I like. 14) Although it looks like you didn't try it, I think the omelet station is very good.
Wow, thanks for the comprehensive list. Seems like we are mostly in agreement. I hear you about the BBQ. You're from one of the centers of great BBQ. I'm the same with Italian food...hard to get excited to eat Italian in a restaurant for me. Anyway, yes about the cakes vs pies. As for the sausage and bacon, the bacon is just thin and overdone but tasty. I hate it's texture though. As for the sausage, yes, have to agree to disagree, lol. As for the ice cream...I never miss an opportunity for dessert/ice cream and especially anything chocolate, lol. OK, thanks for watching and commenting!!
@LetsEatVegas whenever any buffet has creme brulee, I add hopefully crisp bacon pieces from the salad bar. Such combo of creme brulee gelato and bacon would be something expected of Ben & Jerry's.
Wow, I like the way you think! We used to make a bacon maple ice cream at our restaurant and your conception seems along similar lines. I'll definitely be trying this the next time! Thanks for watching and the excellent comment, 🍦🥓
I’ve never met a person who dislikes Asian food?! Lol I guess it’s because you live in Kansas City-good for BBQ yes-but definitely NOT a prime city for Asian food. Maybe you’ve never had good Asian food? Go to LA/NYC or especially Honolulu for amazing Asian food. I had the most juiciest, pillowy pork dumplings in Hawaii. And the homemade noodles…Yum.
South Point is not the best buffet in Vegas but it is consistently the best value in Vegas plus the quality of the food has improved over the years. I am especially grateful about how they give a free buffet to all vets and their families on Veteran's Day. They don't have to do this but they do and that counts for something.
Another great review, I like your camera work, its like looking thru your eyes while describing the prime rib. The visual with the explanation at South Point was on point. Is there tasta vision? Thanks.
Thank you very much! I love the visual aspect of these reviews. It's fun and challenging to tell a story with movie clips. Thanks for watching and commenting, 😁😁
South Point gives all vets and their families a free buffet on Veteran's Day and they had all the highlights (prime rib, etc ...) as well as some decent seafood options.
Yes, they would seem to have it down. The last 5 or 6 times I've been there it's has been spot on. After putting together this video, and watching the food over and over, I had to return today to get some prime rib, lol. It was, yet again, spot on. Thanks for watching! 🥩🥩😋😋
I’ve always given this buffet a pass at best, I guess I’ll have to give it another try. For me it was just food, filling but not satisfying. Thanks again, I trust your opinion. Sue
Yes, the prime rib was it's only redeeming quality for the last few years, but they have improved quite a bit. It's good to see. Thanks for watching and commenting!
"Jimmies"? You must be from New England or Philadelphia? Ha! Great review. Beautifully shot and presented. I live in Manhattan and love Prime Rib. Problem is that no matter where you go, it borders on $100. There used to be a great chain called Victoria Station, housed inside yellowy-orange train cars. They specialized in prime rib, and it was reasonable and superb.
Wow, you got the geography correct. There are two of us who create the reviews and one is originally from New England. $100, yikes...might be cheaper for you to fly here for a meal, lol. Yes, I remember Victoria Station although never ate there. Too bad it's gone now, :( Thanks for watching and commenting!
😅😊😅😊😊i agree the best buffet for the money. $27.95 i eat the prime rib, ribs and fried shrimp and add some potatoes and gravy. Go early and beat the line. I also to their Thanksgiving and Christmas buffets every year for just afew dollars more..what a holiday feast! Garden buffet at the Southpoint..most improved and best priced buffet in Las Vegas!!
Funny you should mention the Tgiving and Xmas feasts there...we ended up returning to SP today and had the turkey, stuffing, and gravy (the cranberry sauce was kind of ordinary). And we noted that this would make a really good holiday meal! Also amusing, we noticed today another youtuber did a video yesterday calling SP the worst buffet in Vegas. I found that laughable and obviously from someone who has no sense or appreciation for prime rib. Anyway, thanks for the comment and for supporting our channel, 😁😁💖💖
I enjoy cooking but I will not do it professionally because it don’t pay enough. I always try to tip them a few bucks. It ain’t much but it’s better than nothing I guess.
It's very good! One thing we've learned lately...try to go on a day they aren't having a big event at the Southpoint. We noticed that increases your odds of getting the best food, 😁😁😋😋

@@LetsEatVegas I can't eat the way I used to, now I only do the prime rib, shrimp and meats, plus omelet and bacon. As much as I can put on my plate. Lol

We have yet another 'short' video coming out for our VIP members showing another trip we made to SP last Saturday. This time they cut it even thicker for us. And, this is not just at SP. We've done the same at Wynn, Bacchanal, Anthony's, etc. They'll all comply IF YOU ASK. You can't be a sheep and just accept what they give you.
So do they have a dinner buffet with the prime rib? Brunch buffet's are not my thing . Way to early in the day for dinner ! And to eat that much food . Good reasonable buffet's are hard to find now in Vegas. That's were I would get my prime rib craving for a good value . I'm not cheap but I'm not paying the prices now at these steak houses, yikes ! Thank you very much for the feedback. The audio is a difficult issue. I always play the video on my 'main' tv to assess the sound and adjust accordingly. But, I have two tvs and sometimes on my 2nd tv the background sounds are overpowering. But, that tv is old and not really very good any more. So, I've used the main tv and people's comments to figure out the proper volume levels. This is the first comment in over 6 months saying their was an issue with the music volume. Anyway, thanks for the comment and I'll look into this issue again!
My experience is very different and my friend says it’s prime rib all right but it’s from a very old cow. Seriously! I went there a number of times and my prime rib doesn’t look like the cut you received.
Well, there certainly can be a fair amount of variability from time to time in the restaurant world. Having owned and operated a restaurant for years, consistency is probably the hardest thing to achieve...especially with steak/rib. I've been to South Point many many times in the 10 years or so I've lived here and the prime rib has been very consistent. Every once in a while it's a little off, but at least the last 5 times I've been here it's been spot on. I think part of the trick, which we mention in the video, is to get there early. I've found the earlier in the morning you go the better the chance of getting that perfectly rare/medium rare temperature. But, that's just anecdotal evidence. I have no recorded data to prove that. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting...and may your next trip there be wonderful!
